This is definitely a one of a kind experience. Regardless of which night you go or if you go for the Gospel Brunch, the shows rock! The food is average but hey, you didn't decide to come to Lips for the food, right? It's a great place to drink your face off, kick back with a group of good friends, live it up and let loose. The way the system is set up though, is as a tipping/money machine. You feel like you are constantly shelling out bucks, even before you order your food. First there's the cover charge (not very significant), then there's the balling up of dollar bills and throwing them on stage, then there's the tipping of your drink ladies (otherwise, your bottomless mimosa may somehow never get replenished), and then there's the tipping of the servers for the meal (of course). I could have watched these ladies perform for another whole hour. They all had tons of energy and wanted to make sure your party had fun. The place you want to be to celebrate! The girls will make you laugh so hard you will go home with a sore stomach. If your a sensitive person or cant tolerate dirty jokes, trash talkers or rudeness (in a fun way) then this isn't the place for you. I came with my sisters and cousins for my birthday. Drinks are strong so the price is worth it. The food is okay but hey when you need something in your stomach it will do. The entertainment is all worth paying for! We had Gina as our waitress and I would recommend if possible to have her! She is friendly, funny, pretty, and sassy too. The other girls are just as awesome. Your allowed to take pictures with whom you like on the stage before their performance. Drinks are strong and the ladies are hilarious. My shots of Jamie were more like doubles and I will never look at the Little Mermaid the same again. We came for my sister's bachelorette and they did a great job celebrating with her. I had the chicken roulade, which was actually pretty tasty. I was there for a friend's bachelorette party; it was everyone's first time at Lips and we had a great time with the exception of a negative experience with one of the hostesses, Paris. In our party, two of us are Asian, and she made racist jokes toward us, which made everyone uncomfortable (this was while we were waiting to be seated for the Taboo show). Despite that situation, our hostess and the other entertainers were great. However, the food was lacking in quality; I had ordered the penne pasta and others said the cheese drag balls were not good, either (minimum $15 for the Taboo late night show). read more

Fun time, but a couple things to be aware of. At the end of the show one of the girls on stage announced quite clearly that tips were NOT included in our bill , when in fact a full 20% was added to ours. Also, there is a $10 charge for stage participation, which I believe includes the group photo we did on stage. I cannot verify this as I no longer have the bill, but be careful. Our bill for nine people was $650 , so I think there was hundred dollar charge for that photo. Everyone eats before the show, not during it like I was expecting. Not a big deal though . We just went today for their Sunday Gospel Brunch for my friends bachelorette party and we had one of the best times! The only reason why its 4 stars and not 5 is because it can take a while to get any drinks that your ordering, that arent alcohol, if your ordering alcohol the service is fast if not your waiting about 20-30 minutes for a glass of water. This place is fun but it is EXPENSIVE and the service is terrible! I went for a friend's bachelorette party on Saturday night. I knew there was a $15 order minimum plus an $8 cover, and I budgeted very carefully as money is tight for me right now. However, I did not know there was a 20% gratuity included, which sucks because I would have tipped less for the awful service. I know the servers are performers too, but if they can't do both jobs then they should just perform and Lips should hire additional servers. We literally saw our server twice the entire time. I just wanted a refill of my water and had to wait over an hour. They honestly would have made more money from my party if the service had been better, as several people in the party had to sit with empty drinks instead of being able to order refills. My friend, who is a vegetarian, ordered the pasta primavera off the menu (from the vegetarian section) but was served a dish with meat sauce. She had to flag down a busboy to try to get her correct order, and he acted like he didn't believe that she had ordered something else- there was no apology. It took about half an hour for her to get a replacement meal, and we were charged for both! The girls were beautiful and funny and their performances were good, although I wish they had a bit more room on their stage- they didn't have space for the big dance moves I've seen at other drag shows. I'll go here again if I get invited to an event here but I definitely wouldn't plan something here of my own volition. read more

I have been going to Lips since they use to be over in Hillcrest. Love the ladies and the food is great. The only complaint I have is the manager. I believe his name is Brent. I went there about 2 years ago and he was VERY rude to my friend and I. It made me not want to ever go back!! I was invited to go this past weekend wtih some friends and he was working. He came off rude and fake and I wanted him no where near us. With the exception of him, the rest of the show was great!! Excellent jokes, good music, and Kiki was awesome!! read more

The food...eh. I didn't get to finish mine because the show was starting...so get there early. When it gets crowded its hard to get your drink order in. Overall the show was very entertaining and I would totally go again. Oh and we didn't know about the entertainment fee...so our bill was about $30 more than we thought! The Drag Queens can really move and work the entire facility! Each table/group is assigned to an entertainer. Dinner is quite reasonably priced. We paid about $35 which includes tax and gratuities. I had the Chicken Roulade which was delicious! It was stuffed with spinach and cheese and served with mashed potatoes and veggies. Generous serving sizes. I had THEE absolute best time at Lips on a Friday night. My mother was here visiting and I couldn't wait to take her on a date to this place... We got there and Gina was our waitress/hostess, she looked fabulous and gave us great food recommendations, which we took immediately (was not disappointed) BOMB FOOD! Tootie was the Host and was HILARIOUS!!!!! She definitely kept the crowd entertained and involved! I fell in love with Vavoom! She was GREAT! I have been to Lips twice in the last week with two different groups and I had a great time both nights! The food was very good and the drinks were strong. The performers are very personal and interact with just about everyone, assuring that every table participates in the fun. Aside from the fantastic job they do performing on stage, the host is always funny and the humor is as biting as it gets! Though female birthday groups and bachelorette parties make up the bulk of the audience that I saw, there were a few gay and straight males in the audience and they had a blast too. The décor in this place is so gaudy, it's funny. It reminds me of the drag queen version of Buca Di Beppo with hella random sh*t decorating every wall from top to bottom. The personality of the staff is comparable to that of Dick's Last Resort, but then again, with the interactivity and humor added, it makes it fun. They especially like to pick on the obvious straight dude and people celebrating birthdays, etc. Lips is great for groups; however, they do not split checks, which can make it difficult sometimes! Birthdays, divorce parties, bachelorette parties, random night out, you name it, this place will have you laughing all night long! Just be sure to make a reservation! Also, feel free to have a theme party, having all of your guests dress up in costumes, etc! You will fit right in as a lot of people do that there! read more
