I've never actually heard of this brewery until the other day. However, I'm glad I ran across it. They had a nice size parking area, and they have a big outdoor seating area I would have used if not so hot that day. The inside also had a good amount of seating. Looks like they host lots of fun events and have good food. We went on July 4th it was a little busy they only had one poor sole running the whole place, but he did a great job! I wanted to try a mix drink, so I ordered a tipsy mermaid, which was pretty good. My boyfriend went with a flight for $14 and got four different stouts/porters. All the beers were excellent I would for sure come back.

Great little brewery in Railroad PA. Conveniently located next to the York County Rail Trail. Stop in for a pint. I've been here a few times for beer. I always get #8. Was disappointed with the food..... expensive. No sides. Rating is for the beer. 2/3 stars on the food.

A little disappointed this time. The $5 chili cheese dog special was not honored. The price is $7 on weekends despite the flyer in the menu. Dog was very good as was the beer.

Unfortunately, I have to be one of those people but when you have been handling your two year old all day and are so excited for a nice cold drink and a good burger to find that your night is going to be ruined by the establishment that you thought would fulfill those needs. First recommendation, have servers. Second, just because the owner is in the building doesn't mean that the guests are last - WE PAY YOUR BILLS! Ordered two burgers and a kids meal - one burger and a kids meal comes out. 30 minutes later, still no second burger. The people next to us ask if we are missing food because they "work there". And I said yes my burger but no worries we notified them. Someone brings a burger to the table and instead of giving it to me gives it to the man who sat down an hour after us. I got pissed and went to the bar again to ask what the deal was. The lady at our table comes up and says what's the issue and I said "I think your husband is eating my burger so I'm just going to cancel it." Come to find out it's the OWNERS! So you not only ate my burger after I said I was missing mine but then you offer me and my fiancé a free drink to apologize LOL. I'm sorry but your skunked glass of wine is not going to solve my hunger but thank you! I'm in the guest relations industry and I can tell you that giving a free glass of wine to someone who was so pissed that they cancelled their food order is NOT the resolution lol. No wonder your Bel Air location closed. Get with it because the service you're delivering is not it. No wonder the parking lot is empty the majority of the time. Do better.

Great location! Fast service, nice selection of traditional and experimental beers, and good food. Got a Pretzel with beer cheese, and a BLT. Paired well with the beers. Very nice place overall.

Good time hanging with family at trivia night.

Great place to bring small kids with the bounce house. Beer was good. Can't speak to the food as the kitchen closed early when we went.

So relaxing. During the winter, we were there for trivia several times. That was always fun! Now the food and beverage... Their pizza is awesome. Doesn't matter what kind you get, it's delicious. The beer is also wonderful. There is a wide range to choose from, and my boys have liked them all. I've always had good service, and the place is always clean. They have something for every palate, and I appreciate that they rotate styles so often. My personal favorites are the Polar Vortex IPA (hoppy, bitter, and seriously bold) and the Coal Car Snickerdoodle Coffee Stout--which is a phenomenal, dark dessert beer that's perfect for the colder months. The taproom is huge and welcoming, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It's truly family and dog-friendly, which makes it an easy choice for a Saturday afternoon. Pro tip: If you're coming from northern MD, hop on the NCR Trail near the brewery. It's a great spot to hit after a bike ride or a long walk. The team here is friendly, the glassware is always clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Very smooth and has a fruity finish (I may have drank 3 on this particular visit but uwill not confirm or deny). Good selection of German beers to choose from. The food selection is good, but they seemed to be out of several things on their menu including their staple wurst. Staff were friendly and assisted with recommendations on beer and food. Can't really say what the vibe is here cuz we ate at an odd hour and we were the only ones eating, but there were some people seated at the bar. I would come back for the beer.

But there's always something just a bit off on every visit. The servers aren't aware of specials advertised on social media. The food presentation is always slightly off. There have never been more than 3 beers on tap out of several they list. I would not recommend the lobster roll special - cold flavorless lobster bits sprinkled with celery spread over Texas toast bread which was soggy from the moisture. Had to eat with knife and fork. The German coleslaw was tasty and vinegary but served on a plate (not bowl) and juice was spreading to edge of plate and didn't look appetizing the way it was presented but it was very good. The boardwalk-style fries are delicious and they do have malt vinegar for them if you ask. Good beer though - the Pilsner is my favorite. They recently opened up some outdoor seating with picnic tables that face the parking lot.

You are literally drinking beer surrounded by the raw ingredients. The indoor taproom is great, but the outdoor space is where the magic happens, especially when they have live music on the weekend. It's a relaxed, community-focused vibe, and while they are a working farm, they've set up the guest area perfectly and they have great service and staff. Beer quality is top-notch, which makes sense when they grow their own star ingredient. Their IPAs, like the E-Z Super Soft IPA or the HZ IPA, are incredibly fresh and fragrant. But what I love most is the variety. I've had fantastic beers across the board, from a crisp Kolsch to a rich Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout. Check their website for the food truck schedule; they always have great food to pair with the brews. Black Locust Hops is a genuine gem and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates local ingredients and high-quality, craft brewing.

Only weird thing about the bar was the bartender seemed kind of annoyed at everyone. This particular day, it was quite busy and unfortunately, there were more children here than there were adults. I get it, there's not much to do out in these parts and for the parents, I'm sure the prospect of setting up a picnic and letting their kids run around the lawn is a big pro. However, it becomes a BIG con for me as a childless person just trying to enjoy myself when there's a cacophony of children screaming, babies being changed on the table in front of me, kids running around unattended, and just general chaos. I don't know how it became so normalized for breweries, where there's alcohol being consumed, to become playgrounds for small children but here we are. My recommendation would be to provide a "child-free" section. The place is absolutely enormous so it wouldn't be hard. Perhaps the "stable bar" area and the lawn in front of it could serve as this child free area. Or maybe there's specific days of the week or certain times of day children aren't allowed? Beyond this complaint, I was pleased to see the food truck menu way more expanded than the last time I was here. They even offer gluten free pizza now! It was pretty good too. I enjoyed the grapefruit seltzer which came canned and loved the mango seltzer slushie. My boyfriend liked his pilsner and hefeweizen, too. Service from one of the bartenders was curt and standoffish - she seemed extremely stressed to be pouring beer and rolled her eyes or scoffed at any request for a sample. Other bartenders were holding it down and keeping their cool though -- she could learn a thing or two from her coworkers.

They make their own cider and beer and their menu features a few gluten free options including GF buns and GF pizza crust with other GF options clearly marked. We ordered the brussel sprouts and buffalo wings to share and my grandma and I split a white pizza on cauliflower crust. The brussels were good but nothing life changing - I do think if they cut them in half they'd have turned out more crispy and less mushy. The buffalo wings were slathered in a delicious sauce and very good. The white pizza was just OK. We asked for chicken to be added but they forgot. The crust was thin but not very crispy. I caught a glimpse of their regular pizzas which looked delicious if you are able to tolerate gluten. I also had the Wyn-mosa, their take on a mimosa. It came with their citrus cider mixed in and it was a really nice combination. They even put a candle in our dessert for my grandma, after I secretly requested it.
