Great new craft brewery in Ithaca. We have lots of great beer so always interested to see the new folks in town. This place is worth a visit. The vibe is modern with a truly industrial space. I only tried their beers, which were hoppy (my personal taste) so I really liked them with a favorite being the Lawn Dart IPA but they also have numerous beers from other brewers and wines for non-beer drinkers. Space was laid back, kid friendly and lots of onsite parking options which is great for Ithaca. They had a couple food options but this is something they could and maybe will expand, I think they partner at times with food trucks which would be great. But they also have old school arcade games like Pac Man and Skee Ball which is lots of fun and a number of sets of Jenga for you and friends. Check this place out! read more

Wow!!! What a great find. My family and I were vacationing in the area and found this wonderful place. The customer service is fantastic. Everyone is super friendly. The chicken is delicious and moist. The Mac and cheese is to die for, and that cornbread is amazing. Especially with that delicious butter. So, what's the best way to wash down that delicious chicken? Well, with some customized beer. The beer is homemade and delicious. I would highly recommend everyone to come and check this place out. A neat hole in the wall place. Outside looked kind of like a factory, but inside was a cool atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and willing to help. They have a great outdoor patio area that they've winterized with plastic and heaters that allows to you feel comfortable outside while still getting air flow. The tables were a little close together inside for my comfort level, but they took great measures to block off the bar so people can't congregate and hung lots of plexi glass to protect workers as much as possible. Stopped at Liquid State Brewing Company as a family member recommended this place. Liquid State had a fun environment and the bartender was a lot of fun to talk to. I ordered a seltzer that was delicious! I also loved the food truck that was out front, the food was very good too! Definitely will come back! read more

Beer and food are great! Bartenders are friendly and happy to help. One server with blonde hair who was working tonight (03/05/23) was so rude. I was told by a bartender to try ordering food outside bc nobody was at the kiosk. So I go outside. Blonde girl asks why I'm out there asks if I'm trying to get food. I say yes I was told to come out here. She's like that's weird to go the kiosk. I say yeah I was there and was sent out here. She says no go to the kiosk. The whole time both she and I are speaking in the same monotone voice I didn't think anything of it until I walked about and she says "That was some tremendous attitude". I work in the service industry too so I get bitching about customers but wait until they're out of earshot?????!!!! & I was just answering her questions. She is the reason I'm giving this review and otherwise I think this place is very nice but hopefully next time she waits a little longer and uses a lower voice before complaining :-) read more

Really nice, relaxed and family friendly venue, with games (both board and arcade) to keep yourselves occupied. A decent selection of beers, but none really knocked my socks off. A lot of IPA choices. We were there on a Friday afternoon when a taco truck was there for dining options. We didn't try it ourselves, but the food looked and smelled good. read more

As a beer lover, I couldn't pass up a brewery right in town. The space is very open and has an industrial feel to it. The beer flights fit four, but I was allowed to get as many tastes as I wanted to I ended up with five. They came in the cutest glasses and I ended up loving every single beer I had! They also had some food options I would've liked to try, but we went there after dinner. The bartenders were friendly and the place had a very laid-back vibe. There were tables playing different games and there was even a skee-ball machine. Definitely worth visiting for the beer alone. I'm still surprised how much I loved them all! read more

A quality brewery right in downtown Ithaca - and it's a rarity because it actually has parking! It's a small lot, but there's also really good street parking as well. The inside has an industrial/reclaimed furniture feel to it. It's a big open space with plenty of seating and a good sized bar. There is no food here (well there are a couple small snack options like pickles or pretzels), but they allow outside food, and there are plenty of good options just a few steps away for takeout. Of course it's a brewery so what people really care about is the beer, right? On my last visit there were 9 different beers on tap. In addition to the ever present king of craft beer, the IPA, they also have a black lager on tap that is pretty killer. There's also a Pilsner, and some seasonal beers. Last time there was a gose (not quite the salinity I like in one, but still nice), and a Hefeweizen which was good. Of course the IPA's in some form are there as well. They aren't aggressively hoppy or bitter, but have a well rounded flavor and aroma you'd expect from a good IPA. The crowds seem to come and go in waves, but it has a good atmosphere to it. There are frequently families here in the earlier hours, and they have some little toys and books for children. For the older children(and adults who miss childhood), they have skeeball, and some retro arcade games. Definitely recommended! read more

Excellent beers and vegan tamales with Cholula hot sauce. Daily cask ales and tons of very good IPAs and other styles. Loved the La Trapeze Belgian-Style Dubbel! Definitely a great beer stop in Ithaca if you're visiting. read more

Came to Ithaca for a long weekend and decided to try some local brews. My boyfriend is a huge IPA person (I on the other hand as not lol I'm also gluten free) but this place had options for all, flights set up based on beer preference, tons of choices on tap and even seltzer's and ciders for those who need a non beer option. The two working behind the bar were friendly and super helpful in picking beers to try, they also offer cold beer cans to go. Great selection of beers with a beautiful outdoor patio. The Black is Beautiful and Surf Guitar Sour were our favorites, though we were hard pressed to find a beer we didn't enjoy. Both had subtle, complex flavor profiles. The staff was extremely kind and they did a great job of implementing COVID precautions that made us feel very safe. Flights we be reasonably priced for my partner to try an array of the beer, each of which she liked more than the last. I am gluten free so I enjoyed the local cider and some whiskey. I have stopped by a three times between October 27th and November 10th and I can say that I like this place and they are heading in a good direction. Each time their beer selection has been limited to their four house beers (all brewed on site) and a guest cider and kombucha. The beer is really good considering how new they are, these aren't some upstart homebrewers. All four were well done and true to style. Since opening they have increased their signage in both the front and back of the building and its quite nice. The location itself is deceptive as you don't realize how large and well organized it is until you get through the front door. They are a great addition to Ithaca's west side. read more

I come here weekly for trivia and sometimes for happy hour with my coworkers. I like their beer and they often have a special beer that they cask brew. I don't really like their Liquid Crush that much, but the passion fruit infused one is delicious. I also like their sour gose because it is not super sour. Good place to hang out and bring over Franco's pizza. read more

Pickles and beer!!!! Perfect combo. Sat in the back area over the 4th weekend and sipped some lovely brews after having a sampler and played a couple of fierce games of Jenga ( or rainbow tumbling blocks as the packaging said). Nice selection of brews including thankfully some nice NON IPA options. read more

There is so much to like about this place: great beers, wine & kombucha on tap, a hall of tables where you can order in delivery of your favorite local food, board games, ski ball, and cool merch. It's located right in town, walking distance from some solid restaurants if you want to plan your evening without driving too much. The staff behind the bar was a little distant, and our particular server was less than friendly; this was the only drawback to our night there (I live in Brooklyn and don't need to drive 4 hours to get attitude when I can have it it my own neighborhood haha). If they made a bit more effort in making it a warm and friendly vibe Liquid State will be a home run in every way. read more

First time here and figured we'd give it a try. Bartenders were both helpful and friendly. Good service and a relaxing atmosphere. Had a flight and enjoyed all of the beers. This brewery is a few blocks southwest from The Commons, in a residential area. It has a fun, industrial feel, and you can see the brewing equipment from the bar area. You'll find arcade games and board games among the tables too. I've tried a few of their beers and found them to be pretty solid examples of each style. You can also get growler fills at the bar. I haven't tried the food, but the bar snacks I saw coming out to tables looked pretty good. read more

This place is great. The beer is good and roasted pretty often; the vibe is pretty cool too. The only problem, unfortunately, is a pretty big one. People bring their kids and let them just run wild. Yeah, there are games, and I guess the owners want it to be family-friendly, for some reason, but man-- having a bunch of screaming kids running around while I'm trying to enjoy a beer is really annoying and potentially dangerous. Liquid State is okay. It almost seems like it's trying to be the indoor version of what Westy has, outside, across the street - a beer garden (I guess you could say this is a beer hall?) with picnic tables and games (although Liquid State has board games and books as well, which is nice). But it has a slightly sleeker, generic urban millennial vibe. Several people I know have compared it to the kind of place you might see in gentrified parts of DC. The few times I've been it's either been a bit too crowded for my liking or felt a bit sadly empty due to the size of the space, but I could see it working really well if you need a place to take a large group, it's not a busy night, and it's cold outside so Westy isn't really an option. Of course, another major distinguishing factor is the beer - Liquid State brews its own. I'm only really a fan of the of the dark Stache, myself, but I'd come back for it - and I appreciate the fact they serve pretzels to munch on if you don't feel like mounting an expedition outside for food (although the Westy's popcorn is free!) read more

I had the privilege to meet a great person that works there that happened to be on vacation with his wife. I offered him a Guinness out of my cooler and he said before you open that try this LIQUID CRUSH IPA I was sold right then in there. I then asked him if he had more I would have bought it all well you get what I'm saying I wanted more. I'm thankful to have met him great man and we talked alot about NY as well Because that's were I'm from and grew up. I now know when I travel back home I'll bring back at least 16/20 cases of this beer and try a couple other selections as well on the menu. I'm looking forward to actually check this place out in person. read more
