Breakfast and double deckers too!
Margie N.

Samantha was our server and she was on it! I ordered corned beef hash and she assured me it was real and not out of a can. The food took a little while to come out but Samantha kept my coffee full and hot! When the food arrived it was delicious! The potatoes were real and cooked with onions. Then grilled corned beef on top of that . My husband had chicken fried steak and eggs. Served with sausage gravy, it was very tasty! The place was packed but not too noisy. I found my new favorite breakfast spot! It is in the old Red Squirrel, and yes, they still have double deckers. Thanks, Samantha, for your excellent service and constant smile. You put the cherry on top. We will be back!

2nd time here and it will be a staple for every trip to the area. Basic diner food - which is exactly what I want. Eggs, goetta, sausage, hash browns, toast, and hot coffee. And say hello to Missy who might be the friendliest waitress in Cincy.

Ordered the Homestyle Hash which is their skillet. Asked for eggs over easy- they were perfect. Really good service, toast made fresh per order, and decent coffee. Only things that was a negative for me was the precooked bacon of about 15 lbs. I usually order bacon but passed on it today.

I've had breakfast/brunch several times at this cozy homey eatery, going all the way back to 2015. We used to live in the vicinity and it's not far from the church I attend. Food is very good. You get what you order and they are not averse to substitutions. Service is friendly. Seating is comfortable. The diner holds a good number of people, and be prepared for it to be packed full on a Saturday or Sunday. Those are not the times to go if you're in a rush, obviously. Prices are reasonable. Their take on corned beef hash is totally different from what you'd expect to get. It's more like shredded corned beef mixed up with home fries. You may or may not care for that; I don't like it. As mentioned the parking lot, which serves several storefronts, is difficult, although there are a handful of spaces actually reserved for Lisa's Kitchen so you may get lucky. I believe you can park in neighboring lots. This is my choice over a soulless chain restaurant, any day. If you're hungry for lunch or breakfast in Fairfield, get in here.

Let me share my experience at Lisa's Kitchen. I was in the area for a three-day conference and decided to check out brunch options on Yelp. Lisa's Kitchen, just 5 minutes from my hotel, caught my eye. Most of their customers are seniors, which speaks volumes about the service. The staff, from the lady at the register to my waitress, were older but incredibly kind, attentive, and respectful. The atmosphere inside felt cozy and family-friendly, more like a homely diner than a typical restaurant. It was quiet, and everyone seemed to be there to enjoy a good meal. Now, onto the food. I ordered the regular breakfast burrito with bacon and sausage, served with hash browns. It was delicious! What sets it apart? Probably the passion and dedication of the people behind it, who clearly love what they do. Special shoutout to Kelly for her outstanding hospitality. She made sure I had everything I needed, just like being at my favorite aunt's house. The food arrived promptly, taking only 5-8 minutes from order to table. I highly recommend this place, and if I ever find myself back in Cincinnati, I'll definitely be returning to Lisa's Kitchen. Oh by the way I spent less than $15 on the food.

And the dirty gravy is very different- it's hard for me to put in words but it definitely tastes similar to your New Orleans style fish and grits. My only complaint about that meal was that there was not a lot of the dirty sauce. That's what makes the dirty catfish grits its meal so I wish there was more to offer in that regard. The dirty breakfast bowl was good with a proper amount of dirty gravy. My complaint here was that we ordered for the eggs to be scrambled but they fried the eggs. Not a big deal, but definitely check your carry out orders! The salmon croquettes were made very well. No complaints there. However, overall for this meal and the catfish grits- the grits almost taste like instant grits. But they do give you a whole lot of grits. The service was very friendly and welcoming. There's a couple of tables for seating but it's pretty much a carry out restaurant. I see the potential of how great the DirTy BreakfasT can/will be! I will try it again!

The lady that seated us seemed to be nice/ pleasant. Once seated our server Brandy came to our table gave us menus and walked away. Once we were ready to order she took our orders and we waited over 30mins to get food, the food came to each of us slightly warm or cold. And served 1 person, 1 item at a time. I'm in my 60's and my experience is that your table is served at the same time. Food for each person at the table comes so that you can all eat together. I ordered the 1st Lady, chicken, grits, toast. she brought the chicken with a couple items for others, 8/10 later she brought the grits, and couple items for others, later the toast. Toast was cold and most or all 7 of our food was cool or slightly warm. None if us had our complete order at once or at the same time. Nothing seemed to be freshly cooked. My chicken taste like it was cooked in old frying grease. One order was to go once we were finished. Brandy brought it out as if it was to be served with the meal that was ordered and it was not what was ordered. Brandy seemed to be too busy to serve us with time and attention. Over all this was a horrible experience. You only have 1 time to make a good 1st impression.

There was no water issue- so maybe sewer gas? Not a great first impression. I would like to say the servers were wonderful. If I could rate them alone it would be 5 stars- they were the majority of the 3 we gave for this visit. The food itself- no one was very impressed with- it was all just ok. The only stand out was the Southern chicken and waffles. Nice heat and both were crispy. Everything else was just bland- (between us we had eggs Benedict, breakfast burger, denver omelettes, French toast, southern chicken and waffles). The Nashville Mary had some appetizers attached- those were good- the drink itself wasn't. For 7 of us, the bill was $200. We have heard good things about the All-Day menu so we may go back to try that- the brunch for us is a no- there are better options in the area like Coopers Hawk, Cheesecake Factory, Toast & Berry, Cozy's etc

There's plenty of free parking and the gardens are always impeccably maintained. Go on a nice day so you can sit outside on their patio seats with umbrellas. That alone is a treat in itself! I've had Bluebird pastries before, and their scones are some of the best in the city, especially their cream cheese filled scone and their fruit filled scones. Today I was visiting for lunch and I was wary of their small menu because I am dairy free and I wasn't sure if there were many options for me. I called the shop and spoke to Kelly, one of the owners, who was able to give me a detailed rundown of the menu and explain that they would make several accommodations and there would be several options for me! She explained that they are happy to make accommodations and love when people ask. I ordered the soup sandwich combo, and enjoyed the turkey sandwich and watermelon gazpacho. The combo was a good size served with pickles and chips, and I was very satisfied. The watermelon gazpacho was especially delicious and a unique dish that I would recommend for summertime. I don't think a lot of people know about Bluebird and I wish they did - it's the sweetest little place and you will be very glad you visited!
