Lisa's is back open on the weekends! Great food and service. Best BLT and fries ever.

I have visited here twice, both times for breakfast. The first time, I had an egg, over medium, a fruit cup, and grits. Everything was delicious. I was particularly impressed with the grits. They were so good I actually ate them by themselves, for the first time in my life. Usually grits taste yukky by themselves, but these grits tasted wonderful. For the second breakfast, I noticed as I entered the restaurant that there were two soups listed on the chalkboard that day. Both are among my favorites: split pea and ham and beans. Remembering the wonderful grits, I decided to have soup for breakfast. The split pea was ready, so I ordered that. It was delicious. On the way out, I ordered the ham and beans for takeout, for lunch. That soup was yummy too. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere are pleasant and the wait staff are attentive and nice. I came by for breakfast and was extremely surprised and pleased with my meal and service. I ordered the 3 egg omelette with home fries and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. You can't beat breakfast at Lisa's. Reminds me of diners back in the Carolinas. It's laid back, family friendly, and they keep my sweet tea full at all times. If you're looking for a more traditional diner and not a "corporate" feeling restaurant, this little gem is the place to go. The breakfast is wonderful here. They have a pretty nice selection, even goetta!! The biscuits and gravy we're definitely worth trying. I also got the breakfast burrito. It was a little plain, but it was worth the money I paid for sure. Want to go back for the sandwiches though, they look so good! I was having a new windshield put in my car a short walk away, and thought I'd try a local place instead of the McD's, Starbucks, Frisch's, and Dunkin also within walking distance. So first off I want to provide full disclosure. I quite going the over 2 years ago. Use to meet coworkers there for pre-work breakfast meeting. Every time I ordered eggs, fresh bacon toast and coffee. I order my bacon extra extra crispy. Every time I would have to send it back 3 times. And the cook would come out instead of saying sorry. He would say I put it deep fryer. Is that good enough. I said you should have done it that first. I took my wife there a couple of times. Mainly breakfast. She had an issue a couple of times on other stuff. I suggest they need to listen to what is ordered and ask for clarification if they are unsure. And deliver what was ordered. Great little mom shop with very pleasant service. Lisa herself was my server and my Corned Beef Hash & Eggs was plentiful and tasty. The corned beef was lean and devoid of fat and the presentation was inviting. The cook prepares your meal right in front of you at the visible, and clean, grill if you sit at the counter. When we arrived at Lisa's kitchen we're pretty hungry. They lost our ticket so we sat for an hour to get our food. We were with our eight-year-old granddaughter so we didn't mind the wait but we were getting pretty hungry. I started to get kind of agitated when people who came in after us were getting their food and none of the wait staff seem to notice. There wasn't any offer for a free coffee but the waitress did offer a quick apology. I have to say the food was very, very good. I even think it was worth the wait. We had plenty to do to preoccupy us lots of good conversation on a Saturday morning. Hubby had the simple eggs toast bacon breakfast I had a breakfast burrito and granddaughter had Scrambled eggs. My husband has the sausage and gravy with biscuit. All of the food was very hot very fresh and tasted great. I would go back but probably during the week day. Used to be a Red Squirrel. I loved Red Squirrel. I LOVE LISA'S KITCHEN! It's like a new age diner. The menu selections are just right for a place nestled in Fairfield. If you're going to Jungle Jim's- stop here first. They serve Goetta!!! It's my favorite- being a Cincinnati native. Of course I did order some. The only thing I didn't like is the lack of servers but it's not worth taking a star away. read more

My wife had come here for lunch with a friend and enjoyed it so we decided to try it for breakfast with the family. This is your typical diner place. We were there on a Tuesday morning around 9 so it was not too busy. Our waitress was attentive and we received our orders pretty quickly. We had the French toast which was nothing fancy, but had a good taste and was done well. I also had the hash with gravy and eggs on top. That was a classic diner dish and was super tasty, I could've eaten a couple servings of that. My kids had waffles which were surprisingly tasty and we more of the Belgian style (thick and dense) rather than the thinner style waffle I was expecting. Simply put, not good. Same old frozen country fried steak from food service vendor, potatoes were pre-made and heated up (almost) on flat top. Steak was dropped in the floor causing everything else to get cold while they made another one. Inside was dirty and service not great. read more

If you want just a good, wholesome, no frills type of place then take a seat at Lisa's Kitchen. We came here looking for something for lunch that was close to Jungle Jims. We knew it would be good when we saw how many people were there. I ordered the Goetta Ruben and Nick ordered the Gyro. Both were really great and the prices were awesome. Nick also ordered a cup of french onion soup and he really really liked it. I definitely want to come back again. Its a great lunch spot and Id love to try their breakfast! read more

This is a good little greasy spoon near my house! My friend and I were craving some of that yummy short order food, and they did not disappoint. Cute little mom and pop type restaurant. You might not notice this driving by because it's in a strip mall off Route 4, but this is our favorite new breakfast place in Fairfield. And the price never breaks the bank: $22 bucks for 2 people and that include tip. Cannot beat it anywhere!!!! read more
