This place is actually pretty cool. They have tons of snacks and drinks and I can get a sandwich?! Love it. One stop shop. They even have super cute Monito's everywhere you look. I stopped by Lisa's Market in Ontario and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, especially for a spot tucked into the back of a neighborhood market. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and it really delivered, with fresh tasting bread and generous slices of avocado that made it feel a step above the usual chain sandwich. The value stood out too, especially compared to bigger name spots that charge more for less. It has a bit of a hidden gem feel since you would not necessarily expect a sandwich like that from this kind of location. Great sandwiches! Customer service was great and quick even when they were busy at the time I went. They have a few benches outside that you can sit and eat at. After seeing on instagram we decided to give it a try. Went to the back of the market and ordered 2 sandwiches. Turkey and avocado was the first and a bacon, lettuce and avocado was the second. Both were made to order. The staff were very cordial and customer oriented. Small kitchen area with 3 girls making sandwiches among other items. The market is a neighborhood market that had a wide variety of products. The sandwiches were some of the best we had. Perfectly balanced and they don't skimp. Customers and phone orders were picking up their meals. There is seating in front but very limited. Plenty of parks in the area where you can find some shade and enjoy your meal. read more

2026 update: sandwiches are $13 each for a full. This was our first time trying this place and we will never go back for the sandwiches again. They are bland and flavorless and they definitely skimp you on the meat. I got the beef deep and there were 4 slices of very thin roast beef in it. I had heard about this little gem from someone I know posting about it on social media. So I had to try it sincerely my favorite thing ever is a great deli sandwich. The location is literally in the middle of a neighborhood of houses and there is street parking. This is a liquor store/ market, and the deli is in the back of the store. There was a line of people there when I got there so I knew it had to be good. The store is small so space is tight. The deli lady was friendly, I ordered the turkey bacon and cheese sandwich. It took about 7 minutes to be ready. We took it to go. The sandwich was about $12 and it was big! It was so delicious! The bread was soft, the ingredients were fresh and it was a very good sandwich. I absolutely recommend, I will be back to try a different sandwich. Sorry I didn't take a picture. read more

This gem is hidden in a little neighborhood in Ontario.....during my husband's stay at Kindred Hospital... the staff told me about this place.... They all raved about the sandwiches.... Lisa's Market was started in the 60s by a Chapman College graduate who sold the business to a Korean fella in 1987 who ran the business for 30 years and sold the business to an Indian fella 5 years ago. How do I know this? The now retired Korean fella was hanging out at the market when I was eating my Mafia Torpedo sandwich and we chatted. First, a large sandwich here is A LOT of food so half would have been fine. The bread is fresh but a bit on the soft side for me. Bread may be better with one of the hot sandwiches? They asked if I wanted everything on the Mafia Torpedo sandwich and I said 'yes' but I should have asked what's everything? They put mayonnaise on it. I like mayo but not on any 'Italian' style sandwiches so oil would have been better. Besides sandwiches, this place sells a lot of unique snacks and drinks so look around when you're waiting for your sandwich. I also got a small frozen mangonada for after the sandwich (not pictured). read more

My childhood sandwich spot!! The day I went I was really craving a salad so I did a salad instead of a sandwich but I had some of my mom sandwich and it was delicious. I love the variety of candy and snacks they have here! The pickled egg was delicious and the crackers instead of croutons was actually really good . This place is funky. Funky as in bad, not kitschy. Weird smell in the place. Pre-sliced meats slapped on bread reminiscent of an old slipper. Turkey was slimy to the touch, as if it had sat awhile. I stared at the $23 worth of sandwiches (2) in the box and couldn't even eat it. The sandwiches smelled like the restaurant and there was no way I could do it. I knew as soon as I had walked in that I should have turned around but once again I was fucked by Yelp and misleading reviews that dreamed of the place it once was twenty years ago. Great reviews for this market. I came in for the small sandwich counter in the back. I do have to tell you that I venture to places near and far in search of the best food. I enjoy good neighborhoods and moderate neighborhoods but I have to say that this is one scary neighborhood. Being a 6 ft. tall man in the middle of the day, I felt safe. For those that follow my reviews, be cautious. I saw some very scary looking dudes shopping here. I did not feel unsafe but others might. It's a small neighborhood market and the sandwich counter in the corner was spotless with a nice "A" rating on display. The workers wore masks and gloves. I went for the Mafia sandwich which is a sub on a thick white torpedo roll with capicola, salami and mortadella. The crust was soft instead of crunchy which dropped a star for me but the meat and lettuce were fresh and flavorful. No real complaints there. It's super cheap at about $5 for a good sized half sandwich. Also nice to be able to score a cheap beverage from the market and pay one time at the front. Very friendly service, too. read more

Finally they're open! It is a small section of the store in the back that yields some really great food. Their sandwiches are delicious! The tuna salad sandwich is good. Something in the sandwich was sweet, however, the jalapeños balance it. The hubster ordered a large 'Godfather!' Huge sammie....at least 18-20 inches. It yielded 4 servings! That's right....1 sandwich 4 servings & $10.99. Where oh where can you get that? EXACTLY....LISA'S is the place to go. Oh and it's like a one stop shop....they have multiple functions. You can get water (by the gallon 25cents), get your Lottery fix, and plenty more. There's a slight language barrier but ummmm...dollars and cents are universal so you will get along fine. I hadn't been before the remodel so I'm not sure if it was worth it. I just know now that it's a cool spot for some home style food with reasonable prices. The service and ambiance, at least to me, felt similar to other well known Asian markets. This place doesn't have a gigantic footprint, but has similar if not almost all the products for similar markets with larger size. I don't cook a whole bunch for myself, but I came here to get some of the different bag noodles, some condiments, and a handful of produce and other items I planned on using very soon. I spent some time in that noodle aisle because there's quite the selection. Overall, I enjoyed my shopping experience here and will be back. There's also plenty of parking within the lot (at least during a weeknight right before closing time, etc.)

This is the most impressive Stater Bros I've been to, and the manager doesn't play! You can see how…read moremanagement runs their team on strict expectations and efficiency for customers. I've never been to a more clean store AND I'm always having friendly conversations. If they aren't conversations, everyone at least says "good morning" or "hello". They run a tight ship and you can see it. This is my favorite stater bros for the service BUT also for their rarity of plants. My favorite start of a grocery trip is checking out all the plants they have in stock! My two Thai constellation Monsteras are from this store! Food here is nice, especially the fresh meats and seafood. I enjoy getting their macaroni salad and pasta salads. It's always nice, too, when they give discounts to seasonal items. Parking is easy. I'd recommend parking to the side of the store, near the grocery pick up. Not many patrons park there and it's easy to walk to the front entrance. No complaints from me. I hope they maintain their image for more years to come!

By the time I noticed I had already eaten one and thrown my receipt away so I couldn't go back for a refund. But even if they offered me one, it would require me having to go back which is inconvenient. The managers needs to pay attention and look at what they are selling and the dates. There is no reason to be selling items that have a "best by" date from over a month ago. That's not acceptable.
