Lisi Italian was a wonderful experience. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night, the wait time was about 45 minutes but we did not mind as there was plenty to walk around and see nearby. We sat outside, initially we had sat inside. The only issue I have with the place is how awfully small their indoor dining room is. If the tables are full, you quite literally MUST raise your voice to hear the person you are with, and if the other groups are being loud it is quite literally so loud that your eardrums will hurt. There are no open windows or screens to help with the noise level in the tiny room. I would never be able to eat here and enjoy my meal unless the weather permitted to sit outside. The service was wonderful. The food was spectacular, pasta was a BIT too Al dente (I know what Al dente is supposed to be) but other than that it was true authentic Italian and I would return. read more

Lisi has been one of our family's go to restaurants for years, knowing that we would always be served the quality deliciousness we came for. Recently, I was diagnosed with a tick induced allergy, making me severely allergic to meat and pork products and rarely eat out anymore because of it. My family decided to try Lisi tonight for a special occasion where in explained to our server, Mike, the situation and he was more than understanding and accommodating . The executive chef also came out to check and ensure that my allergies would be handled with caution and made wonderful recommendations within their realms. 4 friends went on a Thursday to catch up, we were told our wait time was 1.5 hours so we went to the small bar to enjoy some drinks while we waited. The bar was a bit busy we just got our drinks when we received a text that our table was ready. It had only been 35 mins. We were told by the bar tender that we could not bring our drinks into the resturant. So we had to drink them fast so we did not loose our table. I usually avoid shrimp scampi. Too often it's overcooked little shrimp sitting on a wad of overcooked boxed linguini swimming in butter with garlic clumps in it. However... For whatever reason, I picked the scampi here. Holy crap. What a difference quality ingredients, homemade pasta, and an intelligent chef make. Six large, perfectly cooked shrimp atop a bed of linguine al dente with a flavor all its own. Then, a buttery, well-seasoned sauce with a garlic essence, not chunks. Perfectly done! I'm honestly shocked at the amount of 5 star reviews. They don't take reservations so fully expect to wait an hour before you get seated. The atmosphere is giving high school cafeteria, you have to yell over other people just for the person across the table to be able to hear you. I accidentally dropped my knife right in front of the waitress, she rolled her eyes like I inconvenienced her and then I had to ask three different waiters for another knife. The food is at best mediocre. My shrimp scampi was $30 (!!!) for linguine and shrimp that I could make better at home. It was a weekday night and my boyfriend and I showed up at 8, they were still on a wait. We were able to grab a glass of wine while we waited and they called our name about 10 mins after. The food was delicious, I got the lobster ravioli and my boyfriend got the ravioli siciliano. My lobster raviolis were slightly warm, and the ravioli dish was extremely hot. The Pinehurst/Southern Pines/Aberdeen area offer so many options for a great meal. But, among all of the restaurants we've frequented, We've found near perfection with Lisi Italian. Without adding too many superlatives to this review, I will simply say this. Party of two went here for a disaster of a dinner. The waitress seemed distracted perhaps training new employees for the summer. They messed up our salads and comped those. Our food order was lost or skipped over, because it took so long to get it to us that they comped us dessert without us even complaining. The waitress apologized several times and after about 30 mins said it was coming in 4-5 minutes, which turned into another 18 minutes. During that time our bread and water ran out which could have easily been refilled. Then the food was very mediocre. Especially the veal parm which was overcooked and dry. The wine pour size was good. The atmosphere is OK. But the kitchen and wait staff were a 0 star meal on this evening. read more

The food here is consistently good! We love the meatballs , caprese salad and the zucchini parmigiana. There is always a wait, but you can have a glass of wine while perusing the menu in the atrium. We celebrated my sister's birthday at Lisi and had a great time. Extensive wine selection and creative menu. My only suggestion is if you have allergies or food sensitivities be sure to discuss with the team. For us, a dish is traditionally prepared without spices and that dish turned out to have a kick my sister was sensitive to. We paid for the dish and then paid for something else with assurances that dish wasn't spicy. So not a ding on the restaurant- just a lesson learned to ask questions about ingredients not listed. Ultimately the entrees were very good and we look forward to returning. We didn't get to sit outside but hope to next time as there is a great patio. read more

Great food but disappointed tonight. Ordered a large takeout Margarita pizza. Opened the box to find a cheese pizza, each slice topped with just 1/2 of a cherry tomato. I called and asked if they changed their pizza. Employee says "no, it's a Lisi, cheese with tomatoes. I looked at slip and it read..1 lg cheese add tomatoes. No basil, just a 1/2 of a cherry, not even a whole. Don't mind paying for a real margarita but this was disappointing. Maybe new help, not sure. Busy golfin' weekend and our hosts' usual places were booked up ... tired of the limited menu at the resorts, off we ventured to Lisi. The outdoor set up was delightful in the quaint village ... the servers were hustling and very very accommodating and useful . Great to eat outdoors in a real restaurant again. Pizza was very good as an appetizer (a bit cheesy for this NYer) the salads were BIG forcing good food into my dining partners. The diver scallops were served with 2 contrasting sauces & were yummie, the veal parm looked swell and the wine chosen was hailed (by the drinkers). I'll say in the time of Covid it was great to have a water glass refilled (masked server!) at the table.
