Went to have brunch with our neighbors and they brought us here to this cute little cafe. There's indoor/outdoor seating and dog friendly. We were seated quickly outdoors and service was quick and prompt. I got Anne's Favorite and upgraded to the lemon ricotta pancakes. Everything was delicious. Especially my mocha. Will definitely be coming back again!

Mike & Anne's is one of those places that feels welcoming the moment you step inside. The host was warm and friendly as we passed by several times and finally decided to give it a try. The atmosphere inside is a nice balance between relaxed and charming - ideal for everything from a casual brunch to a special night out. Our server was super friendly and professional. The food is was delicious. I got the huevos rancheros. Beautiful presentation. A bed of rice with black beans layered on top either the eggs perfectly made sunny side up. Soo fresh and tasty with the zesty chorizo and a flavorful green salsa.

Just came for brunch. I am amazed of how nice this little restaurant was. They got a huge outdoor patio for dining. So if you are a fans of outdoor dining. This is a good place for you. Parking is definitely one of the drawbacks of this restaurants. Only street parking were available for this restaurant. I came during a weekday morning, it's already not an easy job to find a parking spot. Can't imagine coming here on a weekend Food is alright. Typical brunch menu and food. The choices is pretty limited for a breakfast place. It's lacking flexibility in their menu. Customizable menu like omelette or scramble would be a big plus. Price is definitely on one of the high side as a brunch place. Service is not excellent but alright. Overall, a nice dining place for small groups that love to chat their ways. Outdoor patio dining look especially nice, a great place for spring/summer!

Mike & Anne's has been on my list for a while. It's definitely one of those nice, classy date spots for brunch. Upon arriving, the hostess welcomed my friend and I, and we were able to be seated within a few minutes. Service was fairly quick, and I ordered their Farmer's Scramble. The Farmer's Scramble was ready within 10-15 minutes, and overall, everything was as expected from eggs to roasted potatoes. In the scrambled eggs were mushrooms, which are probably my weakness but also ham, which is one I often dislike. Overall, the ham contributed to the saltiness, and I found the scrambled eggs too salty to enjoy. There was also ketchup, which was slightly necessary to make the eggs tolerable. The buttered toast was a nice side, and towards the end, the servers were quick and prompt with the check. Overall, whether dining inside in the shaded, darker atmosphere or the outside patio by the sunlit fountain, both environments are enjoyable. Despite this, the price versus food quality left a bit more than atmosphere to be desired, though, and I'm sad to have had higher expectations of Mike & Anne's prior to visiting.

Delicious food, coffee and all items came exactly and as ordered. Lovely open air outdoor and indoor space as well.

Stopped in for brunch and ordered the Garden Omelette (delicious), a side of bacon, and one Lemon Ricotta Pancake for the table. One thing to note: there's only one espresso machine in the entire restaurant, so if your table orders multiple espresso-based drinks, expect them to come out one at a time. No oat milk available, only almond and whole milk. Their yogurt bowls use Greek yogurt. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were just okay; nothing standout. For two people, our total for 2 almond-milk lattes, 1 yogurt bowl, a garden omelette, side of bacon, and one side of a lemon ricotta pancake came to $65 before tip, over $77 with tip. Pretty pricey for what it was. Ambiance is clean and pleasant, service was friendly. Overall, though, nothing felt extraordinary for the price. It simply felt like... South Pasadena breakfast brunch minus the mimosas / alcohol.

Came here for brunch on a holiday weekend. Me and my friends got outdoor seating cause it was such a nice day. Great place for a date lol prob cause service was so slow! We ordered the Anne's breakfast with the upgrade to lemon ricotta pancakes and the breakfast burrito. The pancakes were good and fresh. The burrito was just a burrito..... Get the pancakes

Mike and Anne's never disappoints, tbh. I have been coming here for years, and tried all sorts of things, and haven't found something I absolutely dislike. The staff is great- friendly and helpful, the ambiance is open and airy. It is a place you can come by yourself, or with a large group. The food is top quality, from the salads to sandwiches, to breakfast options as well.

Servers are sweet, love the courtyard outdoor seating but my family usually prefers sitting inside. Love coming here for breakfast/brunch. The buttermilk pancakes were delicious. Came for dinner for the first time. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Also ordered the burger and fries. Fried were good, their ranch was delicious. They ran out of bread during that night's service. Bummer. For dessert we got both this apple tart and bread puffing. The apple dessert wasn't something I would order again but that bread pudding with caramel and ice scoop was delicious.

Came back here for dinner and decided to update my review. Short rib - 5/5 - this was so amazing! Highly recommend this dish. It was cooked perfectly and everything in the dish had so much flavor - perfectly creamy mashed potatoes, roasted garlic bits, the roasted onion was to die for, and the green beans were just the right amount of cooked. My husband almost licked his plate clean! Mussels - 3.5/5 - pretty good! Not the best I've had but still good! Bread pudding - 5/5 - it was perfectly cooked, some bread pudding is too dense and hard, this was just right! Very tasty! Overall this dinner was incredibly, and I was so pleasantly surprised based on other reviews I've read so definitely wanted to update!

Loved this place! The patio is so cute and has ample seating! The service was prompt and attentive. The food was great too. The lemon ricotta pancakes delivered and they happily gave us more syrup. The veggie omelet was delicious too with giant chunks of goat cheese. The potatoes were generous and came with sauteed onions too.

This was such a lovely brunch spot! They have a giant pet friendly balcony and friendly staff. The food was really good too! Pancakes were so fluffy and delicious and I really enjoyed the garden omelette filled with goat cheese. As others have noted, however, we did experience some issues with ordering. They lost our order so we had to wait a little longer than normal. But the waiter was very nice once he caught the mistake and comped our drinks for us. I'll definitely go back but follow up with my order a little sooner if I notice I've been waiting for a while

Ask the Community - Mike & Anne's Restaurant

What is the best parking option?

Street parking is the only option . Usually not to bad , should be able to find something .

Is breakfast available all day (even during dinner)?

No, breakfast and lunch are available until 2:30pm only

Do we need to make a reservation for luncheon on weekdays?

Depending on the size of your group, it would be best to call ahead so they can arrange tables to seat you and your guests. There's both indoor dining and outdoor dining areas available, but outdoors during this time of the year is very pleasant.…

Yelp says they offer delivery, but on the chownow site it looks like delivery is unavailable. Does anyone know if they are using a different service for delivery?

    Do they do bottomless mimosas?

    Nope.

What time does brunch end on weekends? Is the lunch menu offered on Sunday's?

I believe it ends at 2pm and the lunch menu is offered as well after 11am!

We knew we wanted to keep it local to South Pasadena, so what better place than the historic The Raymond 1886. We contacted the restaurant in hopes that we could rent out one of their spaces for our celebration. Kevin, the Special Event Manager, reached out to us and we scheduled a walkthrough of spaces. They have two spaces that can be used for bigger groups. There's the Sunroom, which holds about 15 people, and then there's the outside patio in the back which is able to accommodate 25+. Since we had a smaller guest list, 14 people, we decided to go with the Sunroom. Fun fact it was recently renovated and you can definitely tell as the space was perfect! Kevin was a great partner the entire way through and was extremely helpful at answering all of our questions. We were allowed to customize the food menu and drinks for our guests, plus someone from our group was able to get there a bit before our reservation to decorate the tables. Kevin and our server Chris made us feel like VIPs on this special day! I don't think at any point my wife and I were without a drink so cheers to that Chris! Booking the Sunroom came with a 3 course meal with multiple options, we were allowed to pick these, and we had the entire room for 3 hours (12pm-3pm). Chicken was juicy. I usually don't eat chicken wings. Even after it got cold, the wings still tasted tender and not dry. Grilled Cabbage with Bagna Cauda - I do like a good cabbage dish, but the cabbage was under charred, way too greasy, & lacked acidity. After finishing the half portion of cabbage, it left an unpleasant after taste. Not a well balanced dish at all. Not my favorite dish. Maybe we should've gotten a simple salad instead. Dan Dan Campanelle - the dish came warm not hot. Good flavors and the Campanelle had a good chew, but not an exceptional dish. Hainan Fish Rice - I was so looking forward to this dish. The fish was cooked perfectly, but again lacking balance. The ginger oil is muted and purely decorative, lacking the sharp, sinus-clearing bite needed to wake up the dish. Without the bright, raw punch of ginger and chili, the dish tastes heavy and one-dimensional. I just wished there were more flavors and not just the taste of oil with each bite of fish and ginger. Good ingredients used, but just too heavy on the oil, too light on the aromatics. We didn't fully enjoy our meal as much as we would've liked. We might come back and try the brunch some day.

We ended up at Magnolia House for a late lunch/early dinner. They also serve breakfast/brunch only on weekends. Walked in around 4:30pm and we were greeted by Brian, one of the managers. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

Magnolia House was the place to go 10-12 years ago. But the last 3 times I've been here recently,…read moreit just really doesn't have the charm or class it used to have. Service is really really slow. You may see 5 or 6 waiters on staff...but they aren't stopping at tables to check up on guests. Alot of them are just hanging around the bar or front desk chitchatting with friends. The food quality dropped tremendously. It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Felt like they had these already prepared and sitting somewhere, just waiting for the next guest to order them. Got a mojito that may have been mistaken for a "virgin" drink....cause no one at our table could taste any alcohol in it. They all said it was watered down mint with ice. I wish this place would go back 10 years and make it like "the spot you want to go to"....versus the spot you now avoid.
