My burger was slightly overcooked and slightly under seasoned. The fries were fine. The toppings were fresh. My wife's salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and a reasonable amount of over cooked chicken. Our server was fine if a little inattentive. The decor is fine. You know you're in a steakhouse-esque establishment that isn't in its hey day. But things are clean enough. You can tell he really cares about what he's making, and he's very genuine and easy to talk to. We ordered the jerk chicken tacos, the creole pasta, and the soul bird sandwich. I had asked about modifying the sandwich and he mentioned he doesn't really do modifications, which I actually respected. It felt like he really stands behind how each dish is meant to be eaten. The food ended up being really good. The pasta surprised me the most. It looked simple at first, but it was creamy, slightly peppery, and really flavorful without feeling heavy. The beef had a nice char that added a lot. The jerk chicken tacos were also really good, super juicy and flavorful, and everything worked well together. The habanero sauce wasn't very spicy, more on the sweeter side, but it complemented the dish well. There was a small mix-up with my sandwich at first, but he caught it right away, fixed it, and even let us keep the first one. Both versions were good, but the one with pickles had a better balance. The tang really pulled everything together. We ended up finishing everything, which we weren't planning on. Overall, it was just a really good experience. Good food, and a really nice conversation with the owner that made the whole visit feel more personal. We actually wanted to stop by again on our way back, but they were closed. I wish we lived closer because we'd definitely come back. It's a spot that deserves more attention.

They did not come with a side of dipping sauce, which seemed wrong but when I asked they said they don't come with sauce. I checked their website later and found that to be wrong-- they were supposed to give me sauce for the wings according to the current promo. The pizza was good. The drink cups are small but they charged me for "large" and said it's because we get free refills. Their drink choices are severely lacking. So, $6.38 for two "large" fountain drinks is completely ridiculous. They should have no right charging so much for something they buy for nickels. There was no trash receptacle in the dining area. The bathrooms require a key. You have to ask for everything (straw, more napkins, anything) at the counter, or when they bring your order to your table. Nothing is out there for your convenience at all. This all equates to a disappointing dine in experience. They need to make this place much more inviting and accommodating. And please put up a dang menu with prices for us to see plain and clear for crying out loud. Stop doing the bare minimum, Hut.
