Coming from Grosse Pointe, it was a little bit of a hike, but let me tell you: it was completely worth it! The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and we were greeted promptly by a wonderful waitress. We ordered a large Chicago style with just cheese, and it did not disappoint! The pizza was cooked perfectly and oozing with cheese. The sauce and crust? PERFECT! In fact, the crust was probably one of the best I've ever tasted! And not soggy! This pizza was not only delicious, but it was lighter than other Chicago style pies I've had in the past. After eating multiple pieces, my wife and I did not feel overly full. It just hit different--in a very good way! Needless to say, we'll be heading back to Tonini's. Linda is a tremendous cook and even gave us some of her homemade butter cookies for the road. I also really appreciate the fact that they offered flavored crust. I got garlic butter and it was like having bonus a breadstick with each slice. My wife got a Margherita pizza and loved hers as well. To top it all off, the breadsticks were fantastic too.
