Ive been on a Doordash streak and I was craving chinese...so here we go..ok yelpers..by no means do I expect stellar chinese food when ordering delivery. I do however expect a semblance of freshness. I ordered sweet n sour chicken that came with fried rice and an egg roll. I also had a small egg drop soup. The chicken and sauce were good. The soup was ok but my little crunchies (dont know the name of these Lol) were pretty STALE. Most authentic Chinese I've had in New Orleans - they even have the sesame noodles I grew up with in New York but thicker. That makes me happy. Their dumplings are clearly handmade and their salt and pepper squid is the best I've had in a long time. It's an unassuming place in an unassuming area but trust me: it's the real deal. read more

Such a CLEAN Chinese carryout! It smells like fresh food as soon as you walk in. The staff is nice and helpful. There are coupons on the front of the menu, which you can use right along with the order you place. There is seating for about 20 people. I ate General Tso's shrimp, which was fresh and flavorful. It wasn't overly greasy, like so many others in the area. I recommend this place over most other carry-outs in New Orleans. read more

We DId visit the David Drive location on Metairie, they DID mess up orders two consecutive times, and there WAS a staple-like item in our Won Ton soup. This place feels like a run of the mill Chinese take out place. I mean it has all the cliched aspects of one. Neon sign in a strip mall -check. Cheesy Chinese decorum with turquoise lined chairs - check. Crappy candy dispenser with proceeds going to cure unknown disease -check. BUT upon closer review this place is much more. The food is cheap like but the quality is not. The food is fast but cooked to order so you can taste the freshness. Also someone at the counter always speaks English to where you can actually comminicate. Simple requests like chicken not fried or white meat only is done without hesitation. I got two sweet & sour chicken meals with shrimp fried rice. Crab Rangoon, and an order of wonton soup. The first thing I noticed after driving 2 miles and around 7-8 minutes is that the Rangoon's were folded like flowers and were really good. Pulling the containers out of the bag was hotter than Starbucks. It was super hot!, but the food was good. I think the chicken, wonton, and rice was the same supplier as the Red Apple. Oh, did I forget the cabbage rolls ?? 2&1/2" long. If there was a blind taste test you couldn't tell the difference. Depends upon your location. read more

After two years of trying all different places, I keep coming back to this one. Even though it's way out of the way- I have to drive away from home in order to pick it up. The food is super fresh- I get steamed chicken and veggies and it's amazing. You almost don't need the garlic sauce at all on it. This place is ok. Your typical chinese take out food place. Decent menu. Good lunch combination sizes and prices. I stopped here on a whim. They looked like their prices would be within reason. Expectations were met as far as that goes. So I order boneless chicken combo. It comes with fried rice and your choice of soup or eggroll. I chose eggroll. I also saw that they had crab rangoon... My favorite appetizer. What's this?? 10 for $5!! No way! Ok. So the boneless chicken entree was pretty good. Two fried chicken breast filets served over fried rice and lettuce leaves. Did I say lettuce leaves?? Yes, I did. I have never really seen a combo with lettuce leaves before. Anyway, they had given me 2 nice sized containers with sweet and sour sauce and a brownish gravy. I think it was peanut sauce..not sure but it tasted good. My crab rangoons were smaller than what Im used to but I guess thats how they can give you 10. So back to the chicken. I really loved how they prepared the chicken. Very crunchy outside, juicy inside and tasty too. The fried rice was ok. I ended up making use of theblettuce by wrapping it around a strip of the chicken and dunking it into the gravy. It turned out pretty good. I couldnt finish it all bc I still had the crab rangoon to tackle. Crab rangoon... Ive definitely have had better. I still enjoyed them and ate the shit out of them. They are maybe 2/3 the size of what Im accustomed to getting at other places. They are a little bland. I used the sweet and sour sauce to make up for the lack in flavor. It didnt help much. I still ate about 6 of them. Unfortunately, I gave the eggroll to my son so I cant comment on it. It also looked smaller than what Im used to. The lunch special is $5.45. So I shouldnt really be complaining. However this is a review so I am compelled. Lol. So..if youre in the mood for a quick chinese take out on a budget... This may be the place for you. Me: Well, I love ribs, but usually I like them smoked. VVVHM: I smoked! These ribs are the best I ever had. His order comes out, he immediately digs into his bag, pulls out a rib and hands it to me. VVVHM: I want to watch you eat this. I want to see the look on your face. Me: *chomp chomp chomp* DAMN! These are some tasty ribs! What is that? Ginger? VVHM: They got ginger. This has kind of become my go-to takeout Chinese place, mostly due to its proximity to my place of employment. However, it helps that they have some cheap lunch deals. You get an entree of choice, with pork fried rice, and either soup or a can of soda for less than $5 plus tax. Great! It's typical fast-serve takeout Chinese, but it does have other places beat due to the lunch special and the great service. The woman that is there during lunch each day is so nice! Note: the chopsticks are not sitting out with the sauces, fortune cookies, and plastic utensils - you have to ask for them. read more

I recommend their crab rangoons, wonton soup, sesame chicken, chicken lo mein and egg foo yung. I also like that they have a big box of fortune cookies sitting out and you can take however many you want. Not like some places, where they can be stingy and you have to pay extra for 1 more. ***Make sure to look for the coupons on the front of their take-out menu and get some free stuff with your order! Have been extremely satisfied with this restaurant since relocating from Savannah, GA.
