Stopped by to grab a quick bite to eat, so I ordered a cup of the combination rice, which I have to admit was a very generous portion! I must've waited all of 5 mins after ordering before they told me it was ready! The rice was perfectly cooked and the eggs were nice and fluffy. With the combination rice it is a mixture of shrimp,chicken, pork, AND ham. I honestly could've done without the pork overload. My advice would be to ask them to hold the ham. Overall pretty good experience here. The rice was still very tasty and very filling. I didn't even need soy sauce!! I would definitely come back to order an actual plate! read more

The pics of menus are way out of date everything has doubled in price. Theonly food item that is good is the won ton soup but 7 bucks for a small is way too much. I will say the soup is loaded with sliced pork and veggies. The problem with this place is that it's filthy and rundown You get a lot of food but 15 bucks for mandarin chicken at lunch is ridiculous they should spend some money remodeling. I bet the rats have a great time when they close oh and if you look at the pics of menus they don't give refunds on food items lmao. I ordered for taour, they placed it in one of those styrofoam containers on an small carboard tray (the ones youd see canned sodas in that display the item. Mind you this is takeout so guess what happens, the food spills over my carpet when I had to hard brake (sorry, id rather not rearend someone, your noodles are the last thing on my mind) how much does it really cost for a smal plastic bag to contain that tyrofoam or if they want to pretend to be nevironmentally conscious...paper. Noodles themselves wete nothing out of the ordary, just typical chinese takeout. In asia, you'll see these stores that would nickel and dime you for everything, like not hand you utensils to eat with or paper towels to wipe with the goal being profit no matter how small its. They also tend to push boundaries on cooking safety by using just expired ingredients (no one will notice one day of it being expired) to lower costs. ive never seen food handed to a customer on a small previously used tray like you'd see in costco, but I guess thats the standard here in this place. makes you wonder what else itheyre cutting corners on. Oh and if you try to eat it while youre parked, they come to bother you despite the fact you bought it there. Id say there are a ton of other places to give your money to, Id skip this one in the future and i suggest you may want to consider it. If youre chintzing out on a 10 cent plastic bag, it makes me suspicicious of what else you cut corners on. If you read the other reiews, the eating section is kinda cluttered, like a small warehouse and youre eating next to the items stored. The cashier/waitrdd sits on what looks like an office desk facing the door so when you come in, its like walking into your managers offcie, just missing guest chairs. Sadly I even gave a 2$ tip that would have covred the cost of the plastic bag to keep the container of food intact but alas, the profit motive is way to strong. I dont write reiews but this is just exquisitely annoying and inconvenient. Note that. the 5 star reviews are coming from people who know the owners. Oh yes! Now here, folks, is where the best Chinese food in the greater New Orleans area can be found. I have a rule where I normally order from places that deliver, because, c'mon it's just part of it, but I have no qualms about ordering pick up. Everyone is so nice and super appreciative of your business, and it isn't hard to tell. Each time I come here I'm treated with such courtesy, they do a great job at making one feel welcomed. I discovered this place on a whim. As a newcomer, I went the safe route and went with the fried boneless chicken dinner. It comes with a huge, perfectly crispy, savory egg roll and a combination rice on the side. All for about $16 and it is a mammoth of a meal, or should I say about 4 meals. Your money goes FAR here. The chicken is fried to a perfect golden brown color and its seething with flavor and juicy goodness, it's so freaking good! It's hard to venture away from what you know works once you find it, but I know everything here is worth while. They've got my repeat business for that occasional Chinese food fix I need. The Good: Lots of food. My meat dish filled the entire container which meant leftovers. The rice was really good and the egg roll was amazing. The Bad: With the gigantic container of meat it's a shame that what I left behind was a container filled with pieces of grizzle because the beef in my beef and broccoli was so tough it was nearly inedible. That was a huge disappointed as beef and broccoli is my favorite and I definitely won't order that here anymore. In the end I'd go back on my lunch break for rice and an egg roll and will definitely call first as my job is five minutes away but by the time I got back I had about 15 minutes of my hour lunch break left to eat. read more

I haven't had any anything else because they are so yummy. The place is small and the food is made to order so if you know what you want call it in to avoid the wait. This is a popular spot and there are usually other customers either waiting to order or waiting for their food so again, call ahead if possible. They have cold canned and bottled drinks for sale but I don't believe they have fountain drinks. Parking can be found in the lot out front or right across the street in another lot. I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could. I should have left when I saw how run down and dirty the restaurant looked when pulling up. But sometimes the worse looking places have the best food. This was not the case here. The food was so disgusting my family literally spit out their food. The fried rice tasted like dirty water. I think the meat in it was spam. The chicken was supposed to be general chicken. It had a very dark sauce that tasted similar to bbq sauce. The egg roll was soggy and disgusting. The egg roll also had a horrible smell. This was the worse Chinese food, that I have ever eaten. I called the restaurant to complain, because my family could not eat the food. She told me to bring the food back so she could look at it. Ordered 3 beef w broc combo plates small egg drop soup and dumplings. Dumplings were very greasy and the beef was tough and dish had way too much salt. See the pic of all of it in the trash the other 2 plates were next to and underneath the one showed. Soup was good! This place is great for takeout! Big portions, pretty good food, quick. The combo plates come with an entire carton of just the entree. The. Another small carton of rice. And then a big egg roll. No where I've ever been to gives you that much food,for around $9! The combo rice (which comes with the combo plates upon request) is good, as is the generals chicken, lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork. One of the best Chinese restaurants I've had in a long time. We had a large order and had to wait awhile and the people were very nice and friendly. They gave us some fried rice to munch on while we waited. We will be back. We had the lo main, sweet and sour chicken, egg foo young, happy family, shrimp fried rice, crab rangoons and egg rolls. Had high expectations from all the positive reviews, but this place is not great... They are located on Cleary in a small strip mall area. The interior has a few tables to eat, but it's mainly a takeout place. It does seem like an older building and area... The workers were extremely nice and polite. Pricing was pretty reasonable as well. Now for the food... We ordered the Sesame Chicken Combo which includes fried rice and an egg roll. Sesame Chicken - The portion was HUGE, but it just did not taste right. The sauce was extremely thick and too sweet. Imagine mixing sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce - That's what it tasted like. Fried Rice - The rice had a terrible burnt taste to it. Either the oil or pan was old. There was no distinct flavor besides smoke/char. Egg roll - It was sooooo greasy. After the first bite, oil literally was running out of it. I ended up throwing that away. Overall, we threw away half the meal. We probably won't venture back here again. read more

This is our usual takeout Chinese place. Small family owned and operated. The specialize in Cantonese style food. The egg rolls are large and prepared the classic style. The mandarin chicken is awesome as is their egg foo young. They have a few tables for dining in, but I think 90% of their is takeout. I highly recommend Young's Fortune and suggest you give it a try. BTW you know it is a family run place when the mother and father (who do the cooking) are screaming at each other in the kitchen speaking Chinese. Had boneless chicken and now I know the difference between boneless white meat chicken and just boneless chicken. The latter is more fatty. In addition I in always in the market for Chinese food where the breading of the chicken is light. I did not find that here. I did not enjoy the dish and had to spend extra effort in scraping all the fried breading off. I could not even eat the egg roll. I did break it open to check it out, but everything it landed on, it left a really big grease mark. After I broke it open I was glad I decided to skip it altogether. If you are looking for that hole in the wall Chinese place that has great food, this is definitely the one! HUGE portions , very tasty stuff , cheap , yummy! You can dine-in but it is however on the lower end of looks ....(don't take your date) And the strip mall it is located in is almost in little Mexico but relatively safe.
