Stopped in for a late lunch while on a break from skiing and so glad we found this gem. The service was incredibly friendly and they insisted on seating us even though they were closing early for New Year's. Cute historic cafe that has been around as long as the town. The Rueben sandwich and onion rings were delicious as well as the club sandwiches. read more

Good hamburgers done just right and a bit more generous than most places. French fries freshly fried and very tasty. New employee-we were his first table and he was being trained. He was very courteous and accommodating as was the nice young woman training him. Met the owner cook who was fun to talk to. They serve breakfast till closing around 2:30, and sausage, biscuits, and eggs looked just right. I look forward to returning when they feature the original owner's coconut cream pie-they say they were given the original recipe! This place is still open as of May 2024 despite what Apple Maps says. The patty melt was very good, not greasy and the tomato jam is great. The bread pudding is a must try, I'd come back just for it. Some of the best I've ever had. read more

We've gone by this diner many times, and we finally stopped in. I had flounder with a side salad, slaw and cornbread. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and tater tots. The bacon cheeseburger was fine - hand packed, not processed. My flounder side salad and slaw were good. The salad came with homemade Italian dressing, which was very good. The cornbread was fried on the grill, like a pancake. It was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. And, the bathroom was clean. We went for breakfast, but missed it, because breakfast ends at 11:00 AM. Next time, we plan to try the breakfast. read more

Cute place just off I-26 near Mars Hill, right next to a badass Exxon. If you want cheap Southern food this is probably your easiest bet off the stretch between Weaverville and Johnson City. Their dessert options are limited. They only have what they made that day, and on the day I was there they made orange cake. Nothing very fancy but, again, cheap and pretty typical of what this place has been serving since 1951. Don't come here if you don't have cash, because that's all they take. If you're on the highway and you're starving with $10 in your pocket you should probably eat at the Little Creek Cafe. read more

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast while passing through last monday, staff was really friendly. Open for breakfast and lunch until 2pm mon-sat I believe. Typical divey country breakfast stop. My husband has 2 biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns, I had 2 eggs over easy, bacon and a biscuit. It wasn't stellar but it wasn't bad either, just a typical breakfast, decent price. You should check it out and support a local place. I am so sorry that I drove by this place several times and didn't stop to read the signs on the door. I thought they were out of business. But what a great surprise when I found out they close at 3:00 in the afternoon. This is a family diner that has a great history. I loved reading about the place on the wall and appreciate the commitment to the area. I loved the breakfast menu and everything was prepared well. Great coffee too.
