Greater New York Area's Indian Food From a Mumbai-born Indian Chef that boasts of clients the likes of the Clintons and Martha Stewart is this Westchester chain of restaurants and cafes that serve excellent Indian food. This time I visited the @littlekababstation in Mount Kisko that like its sister restaurants, serves better mango lassi than the restaurants I tried in India itself. (Side note: In fairness, the Indian restaurants cooked with the season, and when I went to India in winter February mangoes weren't in season yet, that's why there was no delicious mango lassi at all. While in New York, chefs import whatever ingredient they need so we have almost everything the world cooks and eats any time, if one knows where to look.) So when people around me were skeptic about and asked why I chose to travel to India of all places -- it all began with superb Indian food offered in New York. We have Michelin starred restaurants to cozy, and affordable places like this. On my table: Lamb madras (heaven!) Lots of raita (I'm in love with it.) Lamb kabab over rice Vegetable Pakora (my favorite Indian street food, comparable to Ilocano ukoy) Chicken wings marinated Indian-style tandoori baked roti Mango lassi (not pictured) It's so delicious and transporting. I could close my eyes and imagine I'm in Rajasthan or Delhi or Uttar Pradesh all over again @littledrunkenchef @littlemumbaimarket #curious_eater

Let me put it to you this way. I moved all my doctors appointments to Mt. Kisco just so I could eat here. It is so awesome!

Really love Indian food and this place has authentic cuisine. Delicate layers of seasonings that make a truly excellent dinning experience.

Had a grilled cheese with bacon sandwich & fries there once it was ok. Not somewhere I would go on a regular.

Went here recently for the first time and the food was so tasty! Definitely worth the wait (was a little crowded, which is a good sign).

Ordered from here for the first time the other night. I have my Indian favorites and I stick to…read morethem usually but I guess none of them are open on Tuesdays? I ordered daal tadka which is one of my go tos, GF ordered our other go to, saag paneer. My Dad ordered some chicken shit, my Mom ordered a chickpea dish, and they both ordered aloo gobi. I heard a lot of "this is really great" "this is really delicious" from them so their selections seemed to work out. I always get samosas and they provided THREE which is more than the TWO I usually get at my go to although theirs were slightly smaller but still filled with a tasty center. The saag paneer was delicious. I don't love when places add cream because like I'm getting something with spinach to be healthy but you are just ruining it, even though it tastes amazing. I didn't detect much, if any, cream and it was still really good. There weren't any massive onion pieces floating around either, A+. Unfortunately, the tadka daal was bland af. Didn't do much for me. My Dad actually dropped it on the floor in the garage when he was bringing shit to the fridge out there and I wasn't disappointed. One other thing I would like to add is that their naan was really good, better than my go to. I don't know why and can't explain it but it is what it is.

So happy this spot opened in Bedford Hills, after many trips to Brewster and Ridgefield. Love their…read morebutter chicken, garlic naan, snd saag paneer so much! They've also got a great lunch special Tuesday through Fridays. Sweet spot to dine inside, too. 5 stars!!!

It's a small place and space that doesn't sit many, but boy is the food delicious! Service is great and it's a cozy hidden gem in Stamford. Yes for the mango Lassi, but try everything!

"Bold Flavor, Warm Service, and Comfort on a Plate"…read more Dhabewala Indian Shack delivers vibrant Indian flavors in a casual and welcoming setting that makes you feel comfortable right away. I ordered the Butter Murgh, made with tandoori chicken strips, green chili, bell pepper, and a rich cream based sauce. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, and the sauce struck a nice balance between warmth and subtle sweetness. It was indulgent without feeling too heavy and paired perfectly with basmati rice. My girlfriend had the Dal Tadka, a comforting blend of two lentils finished with burnt garlic and fresh herbs. The garlic added depth and aroma, giving the dish a layered and satisfying flavor. It is a reminder that simple ingredients handled well can be just as impressive as anything else on the menu. We also ordered roti, which was soft, warm, and ideal for scooping up every bit of sauce. It complemented both dishes beautifully and tied the meal together. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive without hovering and made the experience feel relaxed and personal. That hospitality goes a long way. The only reason this lands at four stars instead of five is that while everything was very enjoyable, it did not quite cross into unforgettable territory. Still, it is a dependable and flavorful option in Stamford.
