It was a Wednesday evening- after closing time, so I did not expect a call back until the next day. It wasn't even 5 minutes later that my phone rang and I spoke with Kelly. She told me that Rebecca just received a cancellation and could get me in on Friday morning. To say I was stunned is an understatement. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. Once in Rebecca's chair, I could tell she "got me". She listened to my ideas, looked at the photos I brought in and chatted with me about her thoughts. Then she got straight to work. She was easy to talk to, we had a few laughs and she gave an AMAZING head massage. Once she started cutting my hair, I knew she knew her stuff. After a quick wash, she went straight into blow drying my hair with no heat protectant. Then, she sprayed some product directly on my scalp (?), added some heat protectant, and proceeded to flat iron my hair. This was odd to me, as it is typically standard to finish a trim with a nice blowout. I also specifically asked for layers, and they weren't really touched. The attention to detail was just not there, especially as I left when I noticed the center back of my head was not fully dried. My appointment was about a week ago, and I initially was like "just let it go". But honestly, that was a waste of time and money for such mediocre results

I gotta say that I know a little about hair because decades ago I walked the runways for both Vidal Sassoon and Aveda and the Gods of Yelp landed me on the Jet Rhys Salon listing. Upscale, close to my house and the breaks where I surf? YES! Convenient online appointment booking? YEP! Qualified Stylists who are also educators? YAS! So I showed up, was warmly greeted by their chic and stylish staff (always pay attention to the appearance of the salon staff because that's an indicator of the flavor of style that you'll get) and got a brilliant consultation with Ricky. He was spot on COOL, listened to what I needed, how much time I spent on my hair, and gave me some suggestions. My haircut with Ricky is the PERFECT shake and go layered precision style that I can also slick back to look dapper for filming and photo shoots. He also trimmed my eyebrows which brought me out of the Neanderthal age. Sporty and elegant, to the max! SCORE! I'm totally stoked to have found this awesome salon. It's a little hard to find at first because it's located in the very back of the strip mall but, seriously, once you do you'll be glad you did! I'll definitely be back! But this last time I had an issue with my extensions and was honestly worried about the health of my hair. I contacted the salon. Dana, the salon owner, immediately stepped in and took care of me. Not only did she redo my extensions beautifully, but she also colored and trimmed my hair! She made sure I was happy with the results, and my hair looks and feels amazing. I would absolutely recommend the Station Salon, the owner, and her team. They handled an uncomfortable situation with professionalism, kindness, and integrity. They did the right thing to make sure I felt heard, cared for, and satisfied. She never cuts too much off unless I say take as much as needed, which happens when I really need a cut, her layering is on point and she is probably the best colorist I know! She has a very clean and cute studio inside of Sola Salons. I am happy she is so happy there and among such a cool group of nice and talented women. She is Certified to do IBE which is Invisible Bead Extensions. It is so hard and very expensive to get certified by the Creator of this method. I mean thousands.. The technique is all about hiding the seam of the track. So they layer your hair on both sides of it and you get a seamless and "Invisible" extension so when you put your hair UP or in a PONYTAIL, you CANNOT SEE IT!!! It is awesome. I live in the gym and always have my hair up during my training, so this was imperative that I was able to have a high pony, not just a low one worrying about seeing an extension. She did them perfectly. She also colored them with so much dimension and they match my hair seamlessly. My hair was longer to start but you cannot tell where my hair ends and where they start. She put in 22" which was perfect. I got about 4 extra inches and lots of much needed volume. If you are looking for someone to do INCREDIBLE INVISIBLE EXTENSIONS, call her. They are so comfortable too. I really thought they would feel weird or heavy or bother me, but they don't at all. I am ecstatic with them..
