There was one haphazardly wrapped drink that leaked a bit but most of it was still salvageable. I got my favorite grilled pork vermicelli with imperial rolls. I still, all these years later, feel like the pork could be grilled just a bit harder to get a little char and smokiness. I think it'll really go well with the deep lemongrass flavor and contrast nicely with the sweetness from the marinade. But having said that, portion size is still great - easily two meals for me! Great little spot! I It's a little away from busy Grand Street in SSF and they also have a parking lot which makes this spot nice and convenient. Even though it's out of the way where most people go out to eat on Grand, most of the tables were still filled during late lunch time around 2pm. My sister, son, and I were seated right away. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful. I got the Bun Rieu pho - which was shrimp/seafood based tomato soup with vermicelli noodles. I usually like egg noodles and didn't know this came with vermicelli but the broth was really tasty and the toppings it came with - shrimp, Vietnamese ham, tofu, and I think crab - all tasted really good. Even my 1 year old enjoyed it. We also shared an order of the Shrimp Spring Rolls which are always my must orders from Vietnamese restaurants because I like the fresh ingredients and peanut sauce - this place came through well with that order as well. Also, their Thai Iced Tea was perfect! Creamy and not overly sweet. Its a must order from here to round out your meal. Would love to try their Vietnamese coffee next time I come! They have a wide selection and even specials up on the wall. They are known for their garlic noodles and five spice chicken, but I personally come here for the eggplant and ground chicken rice, their eggrolls and the pho. The parking lot is small, but it clears up quick. There is street parking to make things easier. The broth came in a quart container and the noodles, meat and garnishes came in a black plastic to-go bowl that was quite large and it was filled to the top. There were tons of noodles and tons of meat. The noodles were super stuck together and when I tried to loosen them, they broke up quite a bit, so no long noodle pulls here, but how can you complain about them cramming so many noodles in your order? You can't. Also the meat was a little chewy, but again, like three times as much meat as places usually give, so I was a happy camper.
