    Outside The Little Shack

I fell in love with fish tacos while on the west coast and haven't found anything reliable outside that time zone unless I cook them myself until now. The Little shack was delicious. Nicely cooked fish and very flavorful accompaniments including cabbage, tomatoes, jalapeños, lime and sauces. My only wish is that they'd have an option for grilled or blackened tacos vs just lightly fried. In addition to the typical fish and shrimp tacos, they also have more unique combinations. I tried the poblano and shrimp taco. I gobbled it up way too fast to take a photo. Oops!

Overall- Very cozy place for a casual seafood dinner, seating somewhat limited so you should call ahead. Came here for dinner on a weekday. Since it is a shack in the middle of the parking lot, the seating was somewhat limited. There are about 10-12 tables on the inside. I had to wait about 20 minutes for a table and the people who arrived just after me had to wait even longer. Once inside the restaurant was cozy but not cramped. The service was very decently fast once seated. The food was very solid! I had the appetizer trio for my main course and when combined with the chips, was a very filling meal. The salsa they served with the chips was hotter than most salsas I've had. They were also kind enough to refill the chips for free. Overall, very solid place. They have another one like 5 minutes down the street so go to that one if this one is busy.

Congratulations on keeping and continuing with good customer service, great atmosphere and GREAT TASTE !!!!! ... highly recommend ALL the Tacos ... this visit we started with a shrimp Red Aguachiles appetizer, delicious shrimp cover with house made red salsa combine with onion and cucumber , very FRESH ... then the Tacos .. WOW really good , My recommendation is to order three different Tacos so you will have a great experience... in this case I order One Little Shack , One Fiesta and One Little Shack... Oh! DONT FORGET to take your favorite Beer so they will put it in a bucket with Ice and prepare you a delicious Chelada Glass (ice with lemon) of course they will charge you $1.50 per glass and .50 per beer NOT BAD .. I will continue visit Little Shack

This Little Shack location is LITERALLY a little shack. I've heard fairly good things about the fish tacos here, but unfortunately, their tacos didn't taste like much to me and I didn't get the hype. Ambiance - The inside is fairly small and we had to squeeze our party of 5 in. The decor was cute though. Service - The servers were willing to give recommendations and were attentative. Food: Had fish and shrimp tacos and honestly, they didn't really taste like much to me. I couldn't really taste the seafood and I thought the taco was bland. Pricing - Give or take ~$10 for a mix-match of 3 tacos which I thought was fairly expensive considering the quality. Overall, I would not recommend this place. While the location was interesting, I did not enjoy the food. P.S. This is BYOB due to it being on a parking lot. The server explained it and it was actually a pretty interesting backstory to why it's BYOB.

This location is literally a little shack, very cozy. We had a mix of fried fish, pork and steak tacos. You can mix and match the 3 tacos on your plate. Outstanding flavors! The appetizer chips were a bit dark for my liking but the salsa dip with it was outstanding and a welcome change from the usual salsa dips you get at other places. Service was quick and friendly. If you are on the west side of El Paso and craving excellent tacos, this shack should be on your list.

What an odd location. We walked up to it and it is like an impromptu building in the middle of a strip mall parking lot. Walking in it's like an ocean theme with nets and anchors. The service was prompt and friendly. Unlimited chips and salsa were fantastic. We ordered the fish taco, fiesta taco ( shrimp and steak), and the shrimp and avacado tacos. The food was super cheap, about $2-3/taco and we got here at happy hour which is 2-6 M-Th. It was so good that we ordered extra tacos. Fair warning though that the bathroom is a bathroom with an exterior entrance. If you are a fan of hole in the wall restaurants that are super cheap and tasty, this place is for you!

Hi!! It's BYOB (there is a small fee & it's a max of 3 drinks per person). They will hold the extras up front for you, so if it seems like your missing some drinks, that's where they are. We ordered a pick 2 appetizer of calamari and ceviche. The calamari lacked a little in flavor, but he ceviche was SO GOOD! Also, they start you out with chips and salsa. The salsa is somewhat thin (I was there was more freshness to it, but that's just my preference). However, it's complimentary so I can't complain!! Finally, we ordered fish tacos. These were delicious! They come with two salsas. Beware though, there are jalapeños on them and they might be a little spicy. Overall, this was a great experience. I will be back (-:

When stopping in El Paso, me and the fellas were looking for some grub after a long day. Little Shack was an extremely pleasant surprise. Honestly one of the best places I've ever eaten at. Everything about this restaurant worked out. When we walked in, we got seated immediately and they bust out the chips and salsa. The chips were thick and crunchy and the salsa was more rich and creamy compared to normal salsa. It kinda reminded me of the curry sauce they use for butter chicken. Regardless, it was one of my favorite chips and salsa. When purchasing the tacos, we realize they only take cash and that the prices were fairly cheap ($9 for 3 tacos and $3.25 for an individual quesadilla). Then after a short while we got all of our food which came with disassembled red cabbage and orange sauce and avocado. I devoured the three tacos and one quesadilla very quickly. I got the Baja tacos which come with shrimp, bacon, chorizo, and cheese. Any of the tacos would have been a good choice and I don't regret my choice. It was an excellent assortment of flavors and I felt satisfied after eating it yet still wanted to eat more.

Mixed review, ordered fish tacos and loved them. They have my favorite fish tacos. But I also ordered the surprise me Appetizer and to my surprise the shrimp from the aguachile wasn't cleaned... gross . That is a big no no for me. If you don't know how to clean shrimp proper, you shouldn't work at a seafood restaurant.

I love it here... I'm really not much of a fish person so take that into consideration when reading my review... I normally come here or order out some fish soup, and let me tell you it's SO MUCH better than it sounds. The fish soup is super flavorful but be careful because it's is spicy!! But the fish is so tender is just breaks apart in your soup! It comes with veggies and a side of rice TRUST ME.... You need to try! When you first arrive you are served chips and salsa on arrival. Which happen to be super good. The salsa is the perfect amount of spicy and flavorful. Not to mention the tortilla chips are made in house fresh and tasty! The actual place is cute and cozy it's a great place to watch the soccer games too! It's a must try!

Most excellent fish tacos! Don't forget the avocado!

Growing up in California you would think that finding a great fish taco would be quite a chore in the Southwestern town of El Paso, Texas. I assure you it is not thanks to "The Little Shack". We now frequent this establishment often for their fish and shrimp tacos (mainly the fish). Although we have not tried anything else on the menu other than the fish/shrimp tacos and oyster shots, it is safe to say these are the best fish tacos we have ever had. Sorry California, you loose. Be sure to order the fish tacos with avocado and both sauces and don't forget the shaken tea! The only thing missing is the ocean view. Would give it five stars but sometimes the music is too loud.

It was probably on the menu, but since they don't go off the menu (instead a board tells you what's available on that day) I didn't pay as much attention to it as I should have. Our server was the only one working. Out front and in the kitchen. It took a while to get the food because of that, and she wasn't as attentive to the table because she was also busy cooking. Because we do not have a Haitian Restaurant out there so of course, I'm ready to dive right in again... The had Haitian Food, Jamaican Food, and African Food, didn't really think anything of it and just ordered the Griot, Oxtail, and the Jerk Chicken. When the food came out I realized that nothing really looked the way it should... The Griot plate was plain, no salad and no rice (we had to tell them to give us some rice).. There are two different styles of the Griot (simple or Complete) if you know , you know.... The OxTail wasn't bad but not exactly what I was use to growing up in Florida... As we were driving away from the restaurant is when I noticed the name of the restaurant had changed to "faith African Cuisine" and my first response to that was ...." There is NOOOO way you can be a master of all three of the most amazing food you will ever eat and have it served in one location"... oh, the Piklies was not a hit AT ALL... it's bad. Bad.... I believe the previous owners sold and if they did, they did the Haitian community a disservice by not delivering the quality food they were use to delivering.. So the plate was mixed of all three cultures..... the rice was African, the meat was either Haitian or Jamaican and the plantains were sweet not Green fried plantains...
