LOVE LOVE LOVE! All my love to this amazing amazing restaurant. It is kind of sort of hidden away behind a bunch of commercial buildings, and looks very inconspicuous from the outside. But as soon as you get it, you are transferred to an entirely different experience. Right from outside, where it says "VIP entrance" letting you know you are a VIP to entrance decor which almost feels like a Spa as in the pucture. After stepping in, you have a few private booths for large groups and on the other side there is very comfortable bar as well as table seating which is again somewhat private. Coming to the service, I was greeted by sweet hostess and taken to my table which was half booth style with comfy cushions. Given the menu, I was amazed with their lunch options. You could have everything without making a huge dent in your pocket. I ordered the chicken hibachi box which comes hibachi style chicken and veggies, fried rice, 4 calfornia rolls, gyoza (veggie or pork) and salad (I got the ginger dressing and loved it). After ordering you get tiny wonton wrapper bites with a dip to keep you busy. The food quantity will have you full and maybe even have some left over. I will definitely be back here for more!

This was an amazing find. Their vegetarian garden bento was amazing. I wish we didn't live so far away or we'd be here all the time. The waiters were attentive and friendly. The whole place felt very well-loved by the owners and all of the decorations were very fun. 10/10!!

This is a little known secret for great food and easy access. Love the tables and curtains between them. Offers privacy, especially for date night. We went there this past rainy Friday and the restaurant was very full. We were greeted at the door by I believe the owners wife. She's always very nice and sat us quickly after cleaning a table. I would've given this review 5 stars, but the service this evening was not up to their norm. It took easily 10 minutes before she came back to take our drink order. There were servers all over walking past but I don't believe they employ the buddy system for service, which is a must in any restaurant these days, especially if understaffed. It took a bit to get the drinks and for her to return for our order. Once she took our order the food came out quickly. I was so hungry that I dug in and forgot to take enough photos. The sushi presentation was excellent and it's so fresh and creative. My wife ordered the Yaki-Soba noodles with tofu and veggies. The taste of the noodles was fantastic and portion size was ample. We will be back for sure and I'll take more photos. If you want a great Japanese meal with less crowds like a communal Hibachi restaurant and great sushi, give this place a try for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Bento Box dinners tonight and look forward to returning soon! The service was great and the food was worth the price.

Little Tokyo is a great spot for lunch or dinner and feels tucked away in High Point. I have been dining there for a few years now and it is very consistently serves good food. They always bring complimentary small appetizers to each table while waiting for your food which is a pleasant surprise. I like to order different sushi rolls or one of their sushi bento boxes. The bento boxes offer a variety of sushi and sides. I have never had a bad experience and I would recommend giving them a try.

Little Tokyo has become one of the constant, SOLID places for Japanese food for me. Hardly ever does anything go wrong and the food is almost always on point. The inside itself is borderline gimmicky but the food makes up for it. Whatever you order, you get small plate snacks before your meal (ie edamame, crispy wonton strips, and a macaroni/corn/crab mixture). - nothing extravagant but enough to get you by while you wait. I typically get the hibachi bento box that can fill you up. It comes with your protein, rice, salad, 2 tempura vegetables, 2 tempura shrimp, 4 piece California roll, 2 fried gyoza, soup. (Roughly $22-28, depending on your protein choices). The soup is a a chicken broth and really had the full essence of chicken bones stewing. The white sauce itself is just right, not overly sweet and a good flavor. My partner usually chooses from the vast selection of sushi plates and/or a sushi bento box with a variety. Very fresh and no complaints of taste. Service is good for the most part, can get backed up on occasion but you can tell that only occurs with the tons of people coming for their food (which speaks good on their part). They do make an effort to make sure you enjoy your food. Overall: 4.5 / 5 stars Food: 4.5 / 5 Service: 4.5 / 5 Restroom: 3 / 5

This gem is tucked behind a small office park type of area. Started with a chilled sake that came out super fast. We ordered a steak and shrimp bento box a various sushi and sashimi. Generous sizes of everything were much appreciated and enjoyed!

The selection is honestly quite good. There's appetizers, teriyaki (would recommend the salmon!), hibachi, sushi appetizers, all pretty good honestly! The sushi has good variety and I liked that each plate on the conveyer only comes with like two pieces so you can try so many more different options. Loved the experience, loved the food, loved the vibes.

In the end, I just don't feel my original 5 holds up. The restaurant is absolutely a super cool concept, tech forward, and fun for groups and people new to the sushi scene to try some things. When it comes to the actual eating experience though, the taste just doesn't hit home for me the way it did when it opened. Every sushi roll I got was so over-coated in sauces that it's all you could taste in your bite. That's either a heavy handed chef, or a mask for flavors you might not enjoy. In my mouth unfortunately, it just makes a texture-less mess, and part of what I enjoy about sushi is the layering of textures. Not that I expect to be blown away by AYCE sushi, but I had hoped for better than what I got. More simple nigiri pieces were ok. The seared tuna wasn't seared at all really, no brown carbonization, just a little grey. That doesn't impart the desired flavor. Hibachi options were also just fine, when originally, that was a strong point here. That people who didn't absolutely love sushi would still have good option to order. There was one vegetarian roll that included strawberry, mango, avocado that was very good, but again, the amount of sweet chili sauce poured over it was overbearing. I found myself scraping it off any way I could. Finally, one very annoying thing. The items on the conveyor didn't have any labels. Not even our server knew what some of them are. It's common practice to put a little flag before a row of items goes out so people know what they are. It creates food waste, or shuts people with some kind of allergy off entirely due to not knowing what things are. All in all, the novelty of the eye candy has worn off for me, and I just don't enjoy the food as much as other options in the area, even in the AYCE sushi space. But, this is definitely an experience a first timer would love, and it's fun for families.

Since then, the half price sushi hours are no longer in effect, replaced with more standardized lunch specials and combinations. Three basic rolls for x, two specialty rolls for x, etc... as well as specials on hot food and the like. Due to this, I just haven't found myself there very often, and until my experience last week it had probably been two or three years honestly. We came during lunch hours on a Saturday. The lunch specials are good every day, not just weekdays, so that is a good thing. Ordering was simple enough, still done at the counter, given a number, go have a seat. Drinks still self-serve, no wait staff or the like which is totally fine. We ordered a general tso's chicken combination with fried rice and an egg roll, a basic two roll combination of sweet potato tempura and Ro Roll, and a two speciality roll combination that I honestly cannot remember the specific names of. There were also crab rangoons. My first area of dismay, even though we were eating there, everything came in to-go containers creating a ton of trash and waste. Plastic utensils, cups, everything. This was not the case in the past. I guess they've done the financial math that it's cheaper than dishwashing, but it's terrible for our environment. It would have been better if things even came combined on paper plates than this. As to the food, we were disappointed. Nothing other than the sushi and maybe soup appears to be made there, definitely true for all fried things. Rangoons came with plain duck sauce. Egg rolls the size of your index finger. Sushi wise, the sweet potato tempura roll was the best of the bunch. The fish tasted fine, nothing off putting there, but also nothing pleasant. The flavor combos just didn't make me want to eat more... and they were all crammed into to-go sushi trays with dry horseradish ("wasabi") It is not common for me to leave sushi pieces for the trash, but I did this time. Ultimately, the things that used to draw me here just didn't seem to be in place. But the price isn't bad at all. If you are more concerned with value, and don't mind some of the things I listed above, this place could work for you.

I chose the yellow curry as it was on the lunch special for the day. Also opted for the papaya salad. It's a staple for me at most Thai restaurants and I can truthfully say this establishment had one of the best there is. It was sweet and spicy and vinegary .. well balanced. The yellow curry had so much flavor and just the right amount of spice. The lunch special comes with spring rolls and they were perfectly crispy. I will note they are on the more expensive side for lunch combos in the area but it's worth it. My lunch was over $30. I saw where the specials online had some marked as $8 but I believe they were about $17. Just a heads up.
