LOVE LOVE LOVE! All my love to this amazing amazing restaurant. It is kind of sort of hidden away behind a bunch of commercial buildings, and looks very inconspicuous from the outside. But as soon as you get it, you are transferred to an entirely different experience. Right from outside, where it says "VIP entrance" letting you know you are a VIP to entrance decor which almost feels like a Spa as in the pucture. After stepping in, you have a few private booths for large groups and on the other side there is very comfortable bar as well as table seating which is again somewhat private. Coming to the service, I was greeted by sweet hostess and taken to my table which was half booth style with comfy cushions. Given the menu, I was amazed with their lunch options. You could have everything without making a huge dent in your pocket. I ordered the chicken hibachi box which comes hibachi style chicken and veggies, fried rice, 4 calfornia rolls, gyoza (veggie or pork) and salad (I got the ginger dressing and loved it). After ordering you get tiny wonton wrapper bites with a dip to keep you busy. The food quantity will have you full and maybe even have some left over. I will definitely be back here for more!

This was an amazing find. Their vegetarian garden bento was amazing. I wish we didn't live so far away or we'd be here all the time. The waiters were attentive and friendly. The whole place felt very well-loved by the owners and all of the decorations were very fun. 10/10!!

This is a little known secret for great food and easy access. Love the tables and curtains between them. Offers privacy, especially for date night. We went there this past rainy Friday and the restaurant was very full. We were greeted at the door by I believe the owners wife. She's always very nice and sat us quickly after cleaning a table. I would've given this review 5 stars, but the service this evening was not up to their norm. It took easily 10 minutes before she came back to take our drink order. There were servers all over walking past but I don't believe they employ the buddy system for service, which is a must in any restaurant these days, especially if understaffed. It took a bit to get the drinks and for her to return for our order. Once she took our order the food came out quickly. I was so hungry that I dug in and forgot to take enough photos. The sushi presentation was excellent and it's so fresh and creative. My wife ordered the Yaki-Soba noodles with tofu and veggies. The taste of the noodles was fantastic and portion size was ample. We will be back for sure and I'll take more photos. If you want a great Japanese meal with less crowds like a communal Hibachi restaurant and great sushi, give this place a try for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Bento Box dinners tonight and look forward to returning soon! The service was great and the food was worth the price.

Little Tokyo is a great spot for lunch or dinner and feels tucked away in High Point. I have been dining there for a few years now and it is very consistently serves good food. They always bring complimentary small appetizers to each table while waiting for your food which is a pleasant surprise. I like to order different sushi rolls or one of their sushi bento boxes. The bento boxes offer a variety of sushi and sides. I have never had a bad experience and I would recommend giving them a try.

Little Tokyo has become one of the constant, SOLID places for Japanese food for me. Hardly ever does anything go wrong and the food is almost always on point. The inside itself is borderline gimmicky but the food makes up for it. Whatever you order, you get small plate snacks before your meal (ie edamame, crispy wonton strips, and a macaroni/corn/crab mixture). - nothing extravagant but enough to get you by while you wait. I typically get the hibachi bento box that can fill you up. It comes with your protein, rice, salad, 2 tempura vegetables, 2 tempura shrimp, 4 piece California roll, 2 fried gyoza, soup. (Roughly $22-28, depending on your protein choices). The soup is a a chicken broth and really had the full essence of chicken bones stewing. The white sauce itself is just right, not overly sweet and a good flavor. My partner usually chooses from the vast selection of sushi plates and/or a sushi bento box with a variety. Very fresh and no complaints of taste. Service is good for the most part, can get backed up on occasion but you can tell that only occurs with the tons of people coming for their food (which speaks good on their part). They do make an effort to make sure you enjoy your food. Overall: 4.5 / 5 stars Food: 4.5 / 5 Service: 4.5 / 5 Restroom: 3 / 5

This gem is tucked behind a small office park type of area. Started with a chilled sake that came out super fast. We ordered a steak and shrimp bento box a various sushi and sashimi. Generous sizes of everything were much appreciated and enjoyed!

Most of the time, we order online and use the drive up window to pick up meals, so this is the first time in a while we've been inside. At first I was disappointed to see QR Codes on the table for menus but we were promptly brought real menus (which I prefer). I was surprised to see it seems the menu has expanded quite a bit, not only with breakfast but also things like burgers and pasta dishes. We had the rotisserie chicken omelette and a breakfast burrito. Sides were hash browns and the home fries. The omelette and burrito were both reasonably good, not the best I've had but certainly still good. The potato sides were both great. Food came fast and hot, and service was attentive. I still prefer Why Not for dinners over breakfast and this won't become by new go-to in the morning, but it's a good option and I'm glad to see them expanding the business.

We were greeted with smiling staff who asked if it were our first time here. (Guess us looking around in wonder while I snapped photos was a dead giveaway ) They offered samples of the broccoli cheddar casserole. Delicious! My sister got some with her meal. I had the Why Not Chicken wrap which has fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, and some other not-as-important stuff that all tasted scrumptious together! They made this fresh so it took a few minutes (info for those that may be in a rush) but hot and freshly made was fantastic! They have steak fries which were cooked just right. Despite the friendly young man telling me they had the "good good" ranch, they in fact do not. (If you know, you know!) But the ranch was good (enough) regardless. The restaurant is very clean, has a nice open feel to the layout and also has a small space to the side if more private dining is needed. The staff were all great! Super friendly and helpful. The owner (what I assume is the owner) has a great personality and sense of humor. My sister and I definitely enjoyed our lunch. We told them we'll be back!

I'll tell you wait, this place is a hidden gem though. The place itself is an old Pizza Hut located between High Point and Jamestown. It's a small building with a drive through and quite a bit of parking for a small establishment. Nothing incredibly fancy but they had some nice touches such as homemade wicker decorations and traditional sauces on the tables. The lighting was not overly bright but was a nice ambiance setter. Our waitress was phenomenal. Very polite and explained everything to us. She reviewed the items we ordered and made sure we understood what everything was. She even explained to us how traditional Vietnamese people ate some of the dishes which added to the experience. We ordered 3 appetizers to split and get a taste of different things and it was nice as she brought out each one separately so we could enjoy what was just served. As for the food, we had the following: Rice Paper Rolls - all the ingredients were fresh and the vegetables were crisp. The peanut dipping sauce was to die for and could have been eaten by itself. Pulled Pork Sliders - a more modern take on pork buns. These were one of our favorite dishes . The cilantro was a little heavy but a minor complaint. Chicken Satay - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The peanut sauce was glazed on and not too heavy. For our main course my wife had the House Pho and I had Beef Shortrib Banh Hoi. My wife really enjoyed her Pho although the tendon and tripe were chewy and not to her liking. The Banh Hoi was absolutely delicious and a fun way to eat dinner. For those who haven't had it, it's almost a make your own lettuce wrap with meat, a sheet of noodles, cucumber, and carrots. You then dip it in a broth. All of the flavors meld nicely and it was delicious! I had the short rib which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this little gem for a fun night out or to try something different.

It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

I stopped by a little before noon on a Friday to find the establishment very busy, a testament to Alexandria's loyal following. As much as I wanted to like this place, however, it just didn't strike me as anything special. Positives first: Alesha is a friendly and welcoming presence, and the staff here seem hard-working and personable. Though the menu is fairly limited, several items - a crostini and a spinach/hummus/red pepper/quinoa wrap - held appeal. I ultimately went with the day's special, an Italian sandwich. It took a while to arrive, but given how busy - and new - the bistro was, I'm inclined to cut them some slack. While the sandwich featured a good amount of meat, it was oddly sweet due to the choice of pepper. Banana peppers and a dash of oregano would have been a welcome remedy. Like a few of the other sandwich offerings, the Italian clocked in at $12 with a bag of chips included. Some of the salads reached ambitiously into the teens. I may need to give Bistro 1605 another shot after they are fully up to speed at their new location, but initial impressions suggest a place that will serve you neither a bad lunch (and there is something to be said for that consistency alone) nor a particularly memorable one.
