The food was exceptionally bland and boring. By no means bad, but severely underwhelming. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Crab Rangoons. The breading and consistency of the chicken was really great, and it was all white meat. But the lack of flavor really made this one a big disappointment. The rangoons were the best item, but it's hard to mess that up. Even then, it was more on the bland side. Still a bit enjoyable. The orange chicken had a slight amount of flavor, in that we could sort of taste the orange, but only if we really tried. The General Tso's chicken had no flavor, and I even ordered it "medium" spiciness. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're specifically looking for very mild-flavored food. read more

Broth has zero flavor or depth and tasted more like chicken broth than pork. And instead of feeling hearty and flavorful, it was just....fine. Very disappointing. We have never felt so unwelcome in any restaurant, anywhere ever. We walked in at 9.45 pm on Saturday (closing time for this business is listed as 11 pm on the website and Google) and asked to be seated outside. A hostess lied to us that "The City" made them close the outside early today while all other businesses on Broadway were happily serving their customers outside at that time. Long story short, we got seated and talked with the waiter, who had waited on us a few times before, about what was going on and why you do not want customers an hour and 15 minutes before closing when another waitress YELLED to us from the half of the dining room that " 11 pm is when we are closing our doors" and other remarks clearly letting us know that we should go, which we did. I have never had restaurant staff Yelling at me before; a new experience but not going to repeat though. Not going to come back ever again which I expressed on our way out the door on Saturday and heard to my back that they "will be happy if I never come back". So be it. read more

I live only a block away from this place so I gave it a try as soon as it opened recently. But major disappointment. The service was really decent, but food took around 40mins to come. Our waiter was really nice and he kept apologizing for the delay while assuring us that he was rushing the kitchen. For the two of us we ordered potstickers, tomato beef, chicken curry, and tom yam soup. The pot stickers tasted like those frozen ones you get from Chinatown supermarkets, and they weren't even cooked properly. The skin was soft and mushy with no texture. The chicken curry was average, it's only upside being that the chicken is tender. The tomato beef was so salty, my boyfriend had to mix in another bowl of white rice to balance the flavor. But what's worse is the tom yam soup. I suspect that whoever cooked it doesn't know what tom yam soup is...what we got was a watery mixture of tomatoes and random veggies with slightly rotten smell. Not a single bit of spiciness or tom yam flavor. I really want to love this place for it s so near me. But for the quality of the food I m afraid that I ll never visit again. I don't intend to pay $$ just for the service as its food is only worth half a dollar sign. read more

I started with a fresh green tea served in a cool glass teapot and cup. Next, the gyoza...crispy outside, tender inside. The General Tao's chicken was a great entree. The rangoons were very full and creamy! We also ordered the Oyster beef, Rare beef noodle soup, Little wok chow fun, Sesame chicken, teriyaki beef baked rice, & the Korean barbecue and kimchi stone pot. Very disappointing because the space is quite nice and the employees were very kind and friendly. Just wish they were knowledgeable. I wanted to get my standard chicken and broccoli, egg rolls and my boyfriend wanted chicken fried rice which is pretty standard. I asked if the chicken and broccoli came in a brown sauce and she hesitated then said it did. When I ordered, I explicitly asked for brown sauce and sure enough when I got home, it was white sauce. I should have known to look before I left so shame on me but not only was it terrible. The egg rolls were greasy and thick and the chicken fried rice was OK. I understand they opened last week, but we were extremely disappointed. Service and food were extremely slow and terribly paced. There were three in our party and each plate came out at a different time from 15 minutes for the first sushi plate to 35 minutes for a bowl of ramen to 45 minutes for sashimi, which we had to remind the server about multiple times. The sashimi and sushi were good but the spicy miso ramen was underwhelming. All spice, no depth of flavor. What was most discouraging is that our server was extremely inattentive and showed no compassion for the long wait times. Never did she check back to see how the food was unless she was bringing the next plate, and when she did she would quickly drop and run away to avoid questions. With so many quality sushi places on Broadway, literally steps away, there are no distinguishing characteristics that would have us come back again. read more

The name of the place could be misleading...I personally was thinking about a fast Chinese takeout restaurant instead of such hip, modernized dining. My husband and I went for lunch today, we decided to the sushi special. $13 for one roll & 3 pcs of sushi or sashimi. We also ordered the Dynamite appetizer, which turned out to be baked fish and crabmeat soaked in the delicious, creamy, spicy mayo sauce! I highly recommend Dynamite as we inhaled the dish basically in seconds. Sushi was so fresh, and forgot to mention, comes with miso soup and seaweed salad. Service is great, super fast! Our waiter kept us well hydrated by filling up our water very often. I like it! Great new Asian spot to add to the food scene in Lakeview East! Along with every other Lakeview resident I was excited when this placed opened. I was going to save this place for a date but instead I ordered delivery and let me say I'm happy I didn't wait until the date! My veggie egg rolls were very good. My shrimp pad Thai was another story. The first thing I noticed was it was orange and had cucumbers on the side. ????? I thought ok this looks interesting. I've never seen orange pad Thai before but whatever maybe that means it's bursting with flavor! One bite...nothing...second bite...nothing. I stirred it up. Third bite...nothing. No flavor at all! My mind couldn't wrap around it. It was just orange noodles with shrimp and bean sprouts. On the plus side my delivery was very fast and he was very nice. I'll probably give this place another try just because the egg rolls were pretty damn good but don't order the pad Thai! Update: I ordered a second time and the food here is awesome. The egg rolls, shrimp fried rice and miso soup are all great and super cheap! The shrimp fried rice is $10 but can easily feed a group of 4-6 as a side. East Lakeview has mostly tired, old, dull Asian food spots, so this is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood, I have been twice in the early afternoon when it is not very busy. The service is nice and reasonable, and the space is fantastic--high ceilings, fun art, mixed bar/booth seating, spacious for this part of the area. Everything we have tried here is mid-priced and filling, well done, everything from Ramen to Sushi.
