    Salt & Pepper Shrimp

Stopped by after the Halloween parade off Halsted. The restaurant was busy with takeaway orders and had a few tables that were starting to fill up from fellow parade observers. The staff were friendly and the decor was some notches up from your standard Chinese restaurant. Salt and Pepper shrimp. I usually get this in other restaurants as an appetizer with squid so I knew what to expect. The shrimp were fried well and were crunchy but not overly so. The dish had a nice subtle kick. It wasn't particularly spicy, but will warm you up on a cold evening. A nice light entree despite being fried. Would get it again.

Fantastic sushi, sidewalk seating, reasonably priced. Fish quality is superb. Friendly staff. Done and done

Ordered delivery. Very well packed. Most of the food is very good. The ramen and sushi are what you should be ordering here. Overall a solid option for anyone looking for Asian style foods

We were craving some American Chinese food and heard this was the place to go. Came in for dinner on Valentine's Day and there were plenty of tables. Started with the egg rolls, two large rolls. Good mix of shrimp, chicken, and veggies as well as a very noticeable hint of peanut butter which I enjoyed. Our two mains were shrimp fried rice and sesame chicken. The shrimp was good but the fried rice could have been a little more savory. The sesame chicken was super crispy and the exact flavor I look for. Good chicken to breading ratio with more than enough sauce. One thing to note, the food got cold pretty quickly imo which made the sesame chicken in particular not good. Lots of options ranging from Chinese to Japanese to Thai. Large portions at a good price, definitely worth the visit.

This was such a nice restaurant to meet friends at! The menu was massive so it was hard to choose what to order. I was pleased with my beef stone bowl! Service was good!

I finally tried this neighborhood spot and I'm so mad it took me so long!! The food is so delicious and generous portions! Servers were kind and funny, and the outdoor seating area is so nice for warm weather!

I'm a regular at Ping Pong (down the block) but Little Wok has slowly and surely won my heart. I've only been here a couple times for take out but tonight I decided to poke in for a solo dinner and man was it spectacular! All around exceptional meal. First off, love the servers. They're just the best! Secondly, the presentation of the food is solid. Already off to a good start based on those factors alone but the food itself was top tier. Generally I have ordered sesame chicken -- tonight I went with the orange chicken and it has to be among the best in Chicago. I started my meal with some Sashimi Unagi (eel) and a Lucky Buddha. Great combo! I'll definitely make an effort to dine in here more often. I can't wait to come back and bring friends and family when they visit the neighborhood. Show them some love, Lakeview!

Little Wok in Wicker Park is closer to home, but I accidentally ordered from this location instead. The recipes should be the same, no? Yes, but the Buddha's Delight had slightly more flavor from Wicker Park's location. The Szechwan Wontons were also lacking in flavor, as if they forgot to use salt. There wasn't much sauce to it either... Generous size though. The Hot and Sour Soup was as expected. Overall, I was content with the food, and prices were reasonable!

Cute local spot on Broadway in Lakeview that offers a good selection of both Thai and Japanese sushi options. Crab Rangoon's were perfectly crispy and the sauce was delish. Pad Thai came with a huge portion and tons of sauce. Sushi roll was exactly what I was craving and was plated beautifully.

The hottest dish that came out where the shrimp spring rolls. Can't go wrong with those to be honest. Again, like I said, maybe their dinner is better. Tucked into a no-frills corner on the South Side, Dai Yee's looks modest from the outside, but step in after 10 p.m. and it's pure magic. The room is packed with everybody--sneakerheads, nurses coming off shift, club kids, cops, and couples on first dates who somehow heard the legend. The vibe is chaotic in the best way: woks roaring, orders flying, and that unmistakable perfume of sizzling garlic, ginger, and chili filling the air. The food is straight-up stupid good. The Hong Kong-style salt & pepper smelts are crackly, spicy, and gone in 30 seconds. The beef chow fun has that elusive wok hei (breath of the wok) that most places only dream of, wide rice noodles slick with smoky char and tender flank steak. The black pepper beef tenderloin is velvet-soft, glossy, and aggressively peppery in a way that makes you order extra rice just to survive the happiness. The Singapore noodles are bright curry perfection, and the Mongolian beef is saucy, crispy-edged, and borderline addictive. Portions are straight out of the 90s--massive trays that could feed a family of four for under $15. Cash-only, BYOB, and everything comes out blazing hot in under ten minutes even when the place is slammed. If you have a party of three then you're kind of forced into buying two of the same dishes. Which is strange. Traditionally most dim sum dishes have three pieces. Rarely see 2 pieces being offered especially for double the price. We ordered their Jiaozi, Char Sui Bao, crab Rangoon, chilly chilli noodles, and their Xiang long Bao. All were great. The chilly chilli noodles is served cold and was very flavorful. The Xiang Kong Bao was amazing. The potstickers was probably my favorite dish and it's mess up char Sui Bao.
