The pizza was ok the flavor was sort of bland and the cheese that was added to the pizza was a little sparse - you could only taste the creamy cheese on small parts of the pizza. The calamari was different I noticed there were battered lemon peels in the dish so as I chewed the lemon flavor and bitter peel flavor came thru- the peels looked like calamari. This dish seemed to have a mixture of battered onion peel, battered lemon peel and battered calamari so when you think it's calamari you're eating it's not. As far as ambiance - this was in the oxbow market place so it is as expected not much room inside on the restaurant area but we were able to find a place in the middle of the market . Came here on a Friday around noon. There was no one in line and the staff were not busy. I walked up and was reading the menu board but no one acknowledged I was even there. The girl who I'm assuming was the cashier barely glanced at me then went back to scrolling. I was stranding there for a good 3-4 minutes trying to decide what to order all the while no one says a word to me. A few minutes later a caucasian couple walks up to read the menu board and immediately the cashier girl pops out of her chair and greets them with a cheerful smile. I was pretty confused and I even stared at the cashier girl like, are you serious? But of course she doesn't even acknowledge my existence. I was pretty disgusted by the blatant discrimination so I left. I'm not sure if everyone at this establishment is as discriminatory as this cashier was but I will say this experience was enough for me to never purchase from here again. read more

Walked around downtown Napa to check out the lighted art festival. Wanted a slice of pizza for a snack and ended up having a late lunch/early dinner at Live Fire Pizza located inside the Public Market. We were able to grab 2 seats at the bar. We ordered a mushroom pizza and a pear salad. For drinks, Hubby had a fieldwork beer and I had an iced tea. Our order came out in a timely fashion. The pie totaled 6 slices all together - Fresh ingredients, mouthwatering, straight out of the oven. The salad was light, delicate, not overly drizzled with a cider apple mustard dressing and balsamic vinegar. Thinly sliced pears and candied pecans gave it that slightly sweet taste. The combination of our 2 orders paired nicely. The guys managing the bar were courteous, hospitable, and attentive. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable meal in a very active market. I was not impressed with the quality of the food. The pizza had very little toppings that would slide off once you lifted the piece. We ordered a plain pepperoni and another with pepperoni and peppers. The dough was so thin at the bottom the sauce made it soggy. The crust on the outer exterior was honestly the only good thing about this pizza. The Buffalo wings was a huge disappointment. As you can see in the picture it wasn't coated well, thick and lacked on heat. As I was watching the chef sauce the wings I can see him try to scrape the sauce onto the chicken with his fingers . That alone made me not want to even try it. It looked like it was day old sauce that was put in the fridge, reheated poorly and slumped on the wings. I hope that the standards are raised at this establishment because being in the Oxbow Market can be a good thing if the quality is there. read more

This review is overdue but better late than never! My hubby, mini me and I came here to eat. We never tried this place out so we took a chance. We ordered a Magherita pizza, calamari, brussel sprouts and meatballs to share. We got our order and bought outside to patio to enjoy. The food was all so delicious and good to us. The brussel sprouts had some kick but still was good. We enjoyed everything and even had some food leftover to bring home. Definitely would come back and try more items on the menu. The wood-fired pizza hit all the right notes. The crust was crispy but soft in the middle, and the combination of pepperoni and prosciutto was divine (or maybe that was the wine talking). The slight char on the crust added a depth of flavor that had me grabbing slice after slice. The calamari? Top-notch. Crispy without being too oily, and the dipping sauces, one with a little heat and the other creamy, were perfect. Maybe it was my post-wine-tasting mood, but I could've eaten a second plate without hesitation. The watermelon lemonade was exactly what I needed to refresh the palate--light, not too sweet, and a great complement to all the richness on the table. The lively market atmosphere made the experience even better, and watching the pizzas being made in the wood-fired oven was a nice touch. The service was quick despite the midday crowd. Prices? So I would skip that. The pizza took about 8 minutes or so for it to be ready. The ingredients was fresh and it had good flavor. The dough was chewy. My only complaint is the way they use their sausage. Most pizza restaurants I've been to, the sausage is either round little meatballs or slices of an actual sausage. At Live Fire Pizza, the sausage was spread around like the ground beef you would find in a Taco Bell taco. I was not a big fan of how they laid the sausage. I wish they would have just put globs of meat instead. But other than that, the pizza was good. read more

They are not friendly or nice. The women taking my order snitched my money out of my hand before I could give her the exact change. I tossed the change to her and she rudely said "Don't throw money at her!" I tossed it on the counter so she she could give only bills for change. The narrow shop was really neat with the highlight being the wood fired pizza oven, impressive. The was surprising. Not typical pizza shop, homemade style, thin undercarriage with crispy edges. The undercarriage allows all the flavors of the toppings to com through. Boy, that Sausage Pizza was really good. The Brussel Sprouts were just as an eye opener. Not drowned in olive oil, but roasted with spices for a slight kick with each bite. Live Fire Pizza is a great place to get food to go or take a brake while shopping at the Ox Bow Marketplace.
