I was never asked to write this review but felt compelled to as Live Love Pet is an awesome place to take your dog for grooming. I've always felt like my dogs were in great hands here, and they have been accommodating of any request I had. Their prices can be a bit high but that is typical on Oahu and I won't skimp or bargain shop when it comes to my dogs (meanwhile I go to my local chop shop for a haircut!!). The main thing is that I feel like the groomers and people who work here are very compassionate animal people which is what matters when trusting someone with your dog. Geo, who grooms my dogs, is an awesome guy and does a great job. Can't ask for much more. I had been taking my dog to Live Love Pet for a while and each time getting him groomed by Amy who does a great job. However a few months ago Amy disappeared. I tried to continue with Live Love Pet but did not like the other groomer who did my dog as much. Luckily I recently found out that Amy is working at Dog Salon Kahala which is not too far away. When I go and see my alternative practitioner, I usually step in your store to look around. Today I walked in to purchase an aloha shirt for my dog. As I looked around I heard a dog yelp while being groomed and the same time another employee grabbed a dog out of the cage and the dogs leg got caught at the cage door, when she put the dog on the table, that dog was shaking. I have an indoor/outdoor cat, so occasionally I need to get her groomed. I have found that there are very limited places that will accept cats as clients, or they have A LOT of restrictions. Some places even insist on drugging cats just to give them a bath! But NONE of these things apply to "Live Love Pet." They are AMAZING! They took my cat very last minute which was sooo convenient. Sonya was her groomer and she did a FANTASTIC job! My cat came back looking great with really soft fur! She was even given a cute bow tie and Sonya provided me with adorable before and after pics. I have been a loyal customer for almost 2 years and when I took my dog this last time I did not have a good experience. 1. I was not greeted properly, the lady was very rude and seemed like she did not want to help me. 2. They took VERY long on my dog, almost all day. I dropped my doggy off at 11:00 and didn't get him till 5:00, which is when they close. 3. I have taken my Westie here 3 times so far. The first time to get his nails trimmed and to check it out. My Westie is 15.5 years old and has been through a lot, so it is important to me that whoever grooms him handles him with care and love. I was taking him to another place that I won't diss, she was very good, but was so good, she overbooked herself and I could feel the stress when I walked in. Animals are very sensitive to that and it isn't a good experience for them (and myself as well). So, nails with Geo, nice young man went well. I called back when my Westie was ready for a haircut, I had a great conversation with Krystal and decided she was the best to book for a haircut. I took my dog here for the first time a few weeks ago and just made my second appointment. I have never taken my dog to a groomers and was nervous on whether it would be worth it. (My dog is a German Shepherd and she sheds A LOT.) It was recommended that I see Andrea because she is familiar with bigger dogs. When I left my dog there she was nervous (as I expected) but when I picked her up-she was clean, beautiful and happy :) **Edited August 2017 I had to take away a star for the last few visits. I was not pleased at all with my last visit. When I arrived for my appointment they told me that Andrea (whom I have been seeing for months) was no longer working there and I would be seeing someone else. I asked when she left the company and they responded with 3 weeks ago. I did not want an appointment with anyone else as I do not like anyone else there. I kept my appointment and gave it a shot. My appointment was with a new employee named Hannah. Prior to me leaving the office, Hannah and I discussed what I wanted done twice. Half of these things were not done. One of the things that was not completed was having my dog blow dried. She did not get blow dried which caused her to shed so much worse than before she was groomed. At the 4 hour mark, I called to check in because it normally only takes 1.5 hours. She explained that she was still being taken care of and that I would receive a call when she was ready. Approximately 30 minutes later I received a call saying she was ready and I could come pick her up BUT when I got there they said she was not ready and I had to wait even longer. read more

Sincerely the best my three pups have ever looked! We've never been so thrilled with a groomer before!! Some of the highlights of Live Love Pet: 1. So helpful on phone! From the initial phone call when I made the appointment to today's phone call when I asked them "direct" me into the parking lot after I got turned around and couldn't find the place. (Actually, very easy and GREAT location! I'm just horrible with directions.)Very patient and kind every time!! 2. When I brought in ALL THREE DOGS, the owner, Crystal (hope I spelled that right) was AMAZING! She immediately got on the floor and met them with kindness and hugs and tail wags. Aloha from the start. 3. She took detailed notes on each dog. What they need. What I wanted them to look like. How they could make them feel more comfortable. Where they like to be scratched, etc etc. So kind. Made me feel VERY comfortable Leaving them with her. 4. She explained that they get a full service included for each grooming. For example... nails, ears, anal glands. Usually I have to pay extra for each of these necessary services, which can really impact the basic costs. They even got a BLUEBERRY FACIAL included! Too fun! I don't get what that is exactly but their fur has never been softer. Hahahaha. 5. Within ten minutes after I left them, Crystal sent me a picture of the three of them in a kennel together waiting their turn. They were already totally chilling and relaxed. A big deal for three small hyper dogs. And a nice smile for me to know she cared enough to already give me an update. 6. We arrived a little early and Crystal was still working on my third baby girl. We could see everything through the outside window. My puppy was relaxed and seemed like she was totally enjoying Crystal's attention. The other two puppies were sound asleep in the kennel right by the window. Totally happy!! Loved being able to "spy" and oversee everything. My pups were in good hands. 7. Since we had some time to wait - again we were early - Crystal was not late - we chose from about five + different places to grab a bite to eat within seconds from her shop. So convenient!! Of course, timing off on my part and Crystal texted that the pups were ready as soon as we got to the restaurant. I texted back that we had just sat down but we hadn't ordered yet and could come get them. She wrote back immediately and said no rush! Enjoy our meal. (Wow! A lot of times, I've had groomers almost angry that they have to keep my dogs a minute longer than necessary in the past.) Grabbed a delicious sandwich and had some hot chocolate and relaxed. 8. Walked in and the pups came running towards us - so so beautiful and darling! All three of them. I mean darling!! 9. She worked up the bill and gave me a first time visit discount - which I didn't even know about. Seriously so much less than I expected- for THREE dogs. In Hawaii?? She was totally fairly priced , if not under priced. I asked her if she was sure she got all three dogs on the bill. Wow. 10. THE BEST PART: They came back so happy... which is really all any dog lover could ask for. Thank you Crystal. Our puppies mean the world to us. This place is the best. The staff are well trained and really care a lot about any special needs your animal may have. They can handle dogs that growl, snap, and even bite. They are also sensitive toward dogs that have any medical issues, such as our dog who has Congestive Heart Failure, and if he gets too nervous it causes him to cough. They were very careful with him and kind, and made sure to give him a break if he was getting upset about anything. It wasn't their fault that he was nervous, that's just how he is when he gets his nails done. 10/10 recommend this place! read more

We've been taking our dog Max here for the last year and have always been very happy with the service and the results. Max always come out looking fresh and clean (mighty handsome ). We normally see Krystal and she is beyond amazing! You can see how much the groomers love their job and the dogs they work with. They also give your dog a little something to wear around their neck that's usually tied to the season/holidays and also take before/after pictures for you to see. Definitely recommend this place! My 5 year old dachshund had never had a spa day before so I thought I'd pamper her. We went to LLP because of our good experience with their anaesthesia free teeth cleaning last year. We were booked with Andrea and she couldn't have been a more perfect fit for Nala. Nala is special needs (spinal injury) and anxious in new situations, and from the get go Andrea was so gentle, understanding, and patient with her. I stuck around most of the time to make sure Nala was doing okay so I got to talk with Andrea and watch her work. In the past, Nala hasn't let anyone touch her front paws for a trim (even me!) but she was like putty with Andrea. You can tell Andrea genuinely cares about animals and pays attention to the needs of each animal, making sure they are totally comfortable. This isn't just a job for her but her passion. Nala looks and smells great and didn't want to leave her new friend! We will definitely be back for another spa day soon. read more

Took my pup, Ms. Sophie in for the royal treatment (Full groom, Sac squeeze, nail trim). I wasn't sure about the place because I haven't heard much about it. Now, like a lot of pups, Sophie is full of energy, curiosity and plays by her own rules. When I entered the shop, we were greeted and Sophie began to wonder off. When I summoned her, the groomer said that it was perfectly fine for her to wander the store. This small gesture instantly made me feel comfortable. She then played with the dog, let her smell her and gave tons of attention to her (Which sophie loves). The groomers are all trained in immediate pet care and certified. They also took the time to listen to my concerns and what my pet likes and dislikes were. This was more than a business transaction and I made the decision right then and there that I would be a premium, regular customer. I actually had a baby shower to attend and the groomers worked with my schedule. I could not have asked for a better experience! I received the bill and was smiling ear to ear to see the low cost of service! They emailed me a receipt and even a before and after shot of my pup. I hesitated writing a review because I didn't want the WHOLE island taking their pet here! LOL! But I do want to see their business flourish. Oh, no, absolutely awful! Where do we start? We took our dog to be groomed at the time of our appointment and were told to leave her there and expect to pick her up 5 hours later. That seemed awful long but we left our doggie and as we were leaving we decided to look at items through the window of the nearby antique shop. When we passed by Live Love Pet to go to our car we heard a staff person screaming "Shut Up!" at our dog who was now in a cage. Did she bark? Yes. A lot? No. Was it appropriate for the staff to yell at our dog? No! We were called to pick her up almost 6 hours after dropping her off. She was bleeding from a cut that Live Love Pet made in one of her rear legs. She was also super thirsty and dying to pee. Apparently she was kept without water and was not taken out to use the bathroom during those 6 hours asides from being yelled at and cut. Awful!!! This place offers an anesthesia-free teeth cleaning service so many months after this horrible experience (we never took her back for grooming) we decided to try the teeth cleaning knowing that it would be handled by non-staff members. Our dog had been so traumatized by the terrible treatment she received at her grooming appointment that she stopped breathing when we took her to Live Love Pet for teeth cleaning. She wanted nothing to do with that place! Luckily she only stopped breathing for a bit, we left and will never return. read more

Hate to give 1 star since I am new to this doggie grooming service. My dog has gone to a different groomer for about 5 times and we were pleased with service but couldn't get a needed appointment so I tried Live Love Pet since I could get an appointment. So only comparison is to one other groomer....after 1 week so many loose hairs which normally do not occur for weeks and not sure, but believe ear was cut as there was a small open wound of about 1/8". we noticed it the next day so in all fairness, it may not have been at this groomer. But overall, they were not very friendly so won't be taking a chance on them in the future. read more

Brought my dogs (2 Lhasa Apso & 1 Pomeranian) in for a groom. Staff was very friendly and the dogs seemed to like them right away. The shop was clean and secure. They let the dogs run around to get familiarized with the place (the dogs really liked the little water fountain they have in their shop). Lots of parking either on the street or in the lot. Pricing is competitive and they have specials for people with multiple pets. They took before and after pictures of the dogs and even dressed them up a little for the after photos. Overall, they did an awesome job grooming the dogs and the dogs seemed to really like it there, will definitely bring them back! read more

Brought my puppy here for her first haircut. Awesome work, sweet owner and mother (I think) & good location for those who live on the east side. With that being said, I thought why not. They did a good job, they deserve the $78 I'm paying for my puppy to comeback & get a good haircut, bath, nails trimmed etc. When I picked up my dog from visit 2 I was very happy with how she was styled. The reason why I'm giving this 2 stars is because as soon and I got home she was acting funny. Why? I don't know. I was keeping an eye on her then I see her licking her private area. I take a look and see they cut it!!! It was red and raw looking . NOT OK. I understand they can't do much about it now that what Shin did was already done but uhh be more cautious around that area?? What upsets me is that my puppy never even want to pee clearly because it was hurting her. ALSO, my dog smelt like cigarettes. Did a really good job on my dog's nails and hairs. Took a long time, but there was a power outage that day, which set them back. The rest of the day my dog was limping and wouldn't lift her butt, but the next day she seemed to be a lot better, not sure what happened. She might have put up a fight to get her nails cut, or getting the mattes by her butt might have hurt a lot Friendly staff and the zen theme was really calming. read more
