Absolute dog water trash customer service. Purchased sofa based on living spaces "package dimension sizing" since I needed to haul it upstairs to 2nd floor apartment. When the sofa came in the delivery truck, it was 2' longer than the posted dimension on the website. Delivery people took measurements and even showed me a 122" measured length, when online dimensions claim to be 98". Sofa was returned because not enough clearance to move the package upstairs. Called living spaces, customer service had the balls to LIE over the phone saying the pictures taken by delivery people measurements showed a length of 98" . Customer service refused to refund delivery fee and their "restocking fee". Fuck em, got 100% refund through chase dispute. read more

Horrible customer service, bad system, furniture sucks and way overpriced. Came in with my husband and bought a dresser over a month ago. I thought the sales girl must have been having a bad day because she wasn't friendly and then acted rude when I was asking questions. Honestly she just couldn't explain anything well so that's why I needed things clarified. They said it was in stock so they could deliver it next day. It came assembled so next day it was just dropped off and they left. Later when we checked it out one of the drawers wasn't opening and closing all the way and was getting stuck. So I called right away to see if someone could come out and fix it for us or see if we need an exchange. They booked someone to come out for about two weeks later, saying that was the soonest. When booking they give a 3 or 4 hour time window that they can show up so my husband made sure he was there. They never showed during the time window so he left to go to work. They showed up after the time window and left a message for us to reschedule. It's hard for me to make calls during work so I went online to see if I could do it that way. The chat thing is a bunch of robots and when you finally get a live person to reply to, you get a different person with every reply. It was very annoying because some weren't caught up on what the chat was about and they took a long time between messages. All that was accomplished with the online system was that someone would call us back to schedule. Finally we got another person booked to come out but still another two weeks away. Suddenly they changed days on us but it was going to be a couple days sooner than the other appointment so I thought ok, great. It was going to be during a time we were working so we made sure another person we know could be at the house for them. Then they suddenly cancelled same day! I'm so over their BS. They can have something delivered next day but can't get someone to come out and fix a messed up drawer in a timely manner? I'm over dealing with them, and trying to reschedule just to get cancelled on. The furniture is obviously not great quality and over priced. Will never shop here again and never recommend to anyone. Even found out a friend used their HB location not long ago and an employee was super rude there and lazy about helping her put something in her car. So maybe it's just an all around bad company. I've still had several of my clothes in boxes for over a month feeling like I couldn't put my stuff away in the dresser while waiting for it to get fixed. It's been the most annoying and frustrating thing ever! It really feels like they don't care. Update: I didn't know my husband rescheduled them again, I was going to be done with them. After walking half the store, Jay came and asked if I had any questions. He was very helpful and looked up a few items to check their stock. Great furniture but if you try to return something it is a nightmare process! I ordered a dining set (mead table with four chairs and bench) and Gerry was great in the showroom. However- my table arrived cracked in the middle so I returned it. This was a 1/8" wide 20" long crack right down the center. I called to have it returned for being damaged. The drivers came and picked up the table top but didn't bring me a replacement. Now I have been stuck in this nightmare process for the last two days trying to get my replacement table top. I've talked to four different people and no one knows what is going on. I call again tonight (4th time) and no one ordered the replacement table top. The lady tells me now it is shipping in two days to be re-delivered. All I want is my dining table, not broken. I've bought a ton of furniture from living spaces with no problem but this is ridiculous. Also- there is no direct store phone number so you can't call and talk to a store manager. Seriously? We purchased 4 bar stools from Living Spaces in Fremont 5 years ago. The sales person told us to purchase the warranty and that it will cover everything. We just noticed the leather on the 4 stools are peeling/splitting NEAR the seam area. The material is defective! We do not sit on these stools very often. But when we submitted all the pictures/video to the warranty company, UNITER, they will NOT cover it. Even the Dispute team rejected the claim. We will not buy any more furniture from Living Spaces as their warranty supplier will not support it. Living Spaces is selling warranty to make more money but not taking care of the customers. I've spent a lot of time looking for rugs that would work in an unusual space. I looked online and also in the store. Staff in the store was so helpful and went out of their way to help me locate a specific rug that was similar to one I had seen online. After ordering online, unfortunately, the rug in person did not look like the one online. WOW! THEY GOT ME! Ordered a coffee table on SUNDAY afternoon 5/15 and told me they'd deliver it on TUESDAY 5/17. I called customer service at 8am and also went in at 10am the very next morning MONDAY to cancel and they charged me a 10% restocking fee because I didn't cancel within 48 hours of delivery. Happy 1 Year Anniversary! I bought this recliner exactly 1 year ago but 1 month ago, it just started tearing and cracking. It was still under warranty so I called and they were great on the phone. They sent me a link and I uploaded my photos for them to take a look at it. They said they would get back to me within three or four days. They had my email to respond to me but apparently they were trying to call, they informed me, when I called back a few weeks later. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize because, I'm sure you all have this happen, I get tons of phone calls from phishing even though my phone number is registered on a "do not call" list. I guess they don't want a paper trail? Why didn't they leave me a message? They don't want a voice message trail? They let me know that it's not a manufacturer issue so they will not cover it. We stop by the store to look for a simple chair for our bedroom. We found one we liked but it was high up on the wall. The sales team didn't miss a beat, grabbed a ladder and brought it down so we could sit in it. They answered all our questions and were able to check us out on the spot and did not get directed to a cashier. Pick up was quick and easy and they were happy to unbox so I could inspect. She said, Just give us a call and we'll come right out to remove the stains. Delivery time was set up and she got the day off, not easy for management. The day before delivery, a guy called and told her they'd be there to deliver her furniture in 20 minutes. She told them it was the wrong day and she was at work. He said, "Fine, we'll reschedule." And then he hung up on her! Now the day of delivery, they have no answers as to why this happened but they do know they can't deliver her items. Umm, excuse me? We have a scheduled delivery time! Now she's supposed to call back and see if they can get it to her before the 16th! This is ridiculous. We purchased a couch that we had to return for a few different reasons. When going back to LS we were met with the most amazing sales guy Muna. We told him what happened and he spent all of his time going over different couch options, fabrics even pillows. He was so patient, friendly, and funny it was like hanging out with a close friend while going through all of the options to make sure to pick out the perfect couch. 10 stars for Luna. The only negative, which has nothing to do with our perfect Muna, the price for couches at LS have gone through the roof. We bought a sectional and it was 3600. Just a couch nothing else. Maybe it's been a while since I went couch shopping but the majority of couches here were close to the 3k range :( fingers crossed this couch works because it's final sell since we had to custom order. During the first year, the chairs started to crack, it was still bearable since the chair was still functioning and I couldn't exchange to new ones since it was out of the warranty period. I spent $480.00 + Tax on six chairs, $80.00 per chair. I feel totally frustrated and even in pain since the cracks bite my legs when the cracks pinch. Get to know their business model. I ordered a rug which was set to deliver a week after I purchased it. 45 days later, I'm calling customer service because I haven't received the rug (though I've already paid for it). Customer service doesn't know where the rug is. All they can tell me is that it shipped and that there's a note via fulfillment that it's been lost in transit. And, that it was never delivered. Note: Living Spaces never reached out to tell me this. I had to call after 45 days! I asked for a refund, because to the best of everyones knowledge the rug was lost in transit and according to Living Spaces, the entity to which I made the transaction, says they aren't liable once the rug leaves there facility and the UPS is. Long story short, Living Spaces is only able to send an email to their fulfillment center and estimate that "someone" will get back to me within 48hrs. I'm talking about a $1200 rug. My call was escalated to someone called "manager" but who has no authority to issue a refund despite the notes in their system, from their fulfillment team, that the rug was never delivered. The most disappointing experience ever. We ordered a marcel sofa which at the time of purchase, was a heavy "push" only 5 left in stock so better purchase now by the sales person in Irvine. We loved the sofa and purchased it right away. We were told 3-6 weeks, which was fine with us at the time. Upon check out, the person then said realistically, it's 6-8 weeks. We understood, since things can be back ordered etc. Comes the 7 week mark, we check in as no one has reached out to us at this point. The rep says we only have one of the pieces delivered and the rest are showing as next week. We thought this was good news until the plot thickens. We scheduled for the delivery of the one piece, got here, all fine. Now we're missing 4 pieces, no problem, as asked, we check in again the week after to see where they are. We're told, not sure it doesn't look like they're coming soon in our system. To my surprise I said no, we were told this week. It's our 8 week mark. Next we get an email saying it will be here end of December, which puts it about 12 weeks. But wait for it..... Today, 9 weeks out, we get a phone call that they will be another 10-12 weeks out and have to be ordered as "special custom order". You have to be kidding me living spaces? So al the sudden the pieces become a special order after 9 weeks. They either are or aren't a special order At the time of purchase. So now they want us to wait 20 weeks total for a couch. No excuses!!! There isn't a company out there regardless of shipping, material, or Covid that it takes 20 weeks !!! You're going to not get in touch with your customers when we have literally checked in every single week just to find out what's going. If this was a special order piece, why not tell us this when we're purchasing and we would have still be fine with waiting 10 weeks. But instead, you make us wait 8 weeks just to tell us to wait another 10? This is some serious poor customer service. To make things worse, no apologies, it's never anyone's fault and it's really just one party to another with endless hours wasted. If you'd like to wait 5 months for a sofa that was to be delivered in 2 months time, this is the place for you. If you like to chase a company down just to figure out this delivery puzzle, please purchase from living spaces. I'm a reasonable person with reasonable expectations. You'd think spending $6k on a sofa gets you amazing results, but not at this store. Now I sit here on my floor wondering what coast my sofa will arrive from, but to my dismay, it's probably stuck in Thailand but I won't know until I call 12 weeks later. Havent heard a thing on my 2 chairs after sending in the issue to the email address provided from "the team" at living spaces. I notice that none of the other complaints have been dealt with either. Even though "the team" seems so concerned with every issue from many people, it seems the only reason living spaces even answers is to give the impression of concern. Please see my RPS # 500 issue below 3.0 star rating 2/3/2019 Previous review I bought 2 beautiful recliners about 4 months ago....these were the motorized type where one pushes the button on the side to raise and lower to recline. They go in the middle of the room so we also bought the battery packs to charge so there wouldn't be a cord plugged into the wall across the room all of the time. All the information and warranted paperwork that came with it and that was advertised and told to us claimed the battery last approx 300 cycles of up and down or approx 3 months by normal use. After charging it the overnight suggested and the charge lite being green which meant fully charged, 2 weeks later the battery on both recliners, even though my wife uses hers much more than I, were dead. I figured perhaps a flook so I did the same thing again and 2 weeks, approx, later, dead again. I called and living spaces told me they would send out 2 new batteries in exchange which they did in good order. The exact same thing happened again. I called and they said they would bring out 2 more batteries. I told them why will this be any different but they said this is their procedure. The same exact thing happened again going now on this adventure approx 7 weeks but, thinking they would eventually do something about it, I went with their suggestions. I called again. They sent out a tech guy which knew exactly what was going on. He said the normal range was 18 to 30 cycles, not 300 and he has run into this before with many of these battery recliners because all the models took the same batteries...I had to call about a week later as no one called me as was told to me by the tech. About a week later they sent me a letter that I would have to come in with my batteries and they would see about giving me a more powerful battery. At this point, with the current battery barely fitting into the back of the chair with some lousy Velcro supplied, and after a few time reclining, the battery fell out of the back of the chair onto the floor again with all the wires needed to charge on the floor also. At this point I didn't want a bigger battery sitting on my floor in back of each recliner and we originally bought the battery pack so we wouldn't have to see these things on the floor and tripping over them. I have gone now back and forth with our credit card company and it has come to now being told that the burden of proof is on me and I would have to prove by getting a second opinion from someone that knows batteries and how long they would last with this amount of power or cycle. This is near impossible as even persons weight would be involved. We are not big people and this is a clear case of false advertising, written, advertised and verbally told to us in the showroom. According to the tech, I am not the only one taken in by this and I feel that all of this battery exchange and time is just to wear down the customer to the point of accepting false advertising I tried 3 times to upload the battery paper with my comments that shows the guarantee statement but got a "failed to load" each time. I finally put 3 checks above for the rating instead of the one I originally put which would not upload my info or picture....that worked. So I bought two outdoor recliners. One from the store which was bought "as is" and one which was ordered, assuming this would be in stock because that's what the sales associate holding the iPad in the store confirmed with me. On the day of delivery for the ordered one I was told after I had waited in until 3pm that the order was cancelled and the item discontinued. So I called because I wanted a refund on the one I bought from the store because now I have one recliner which wont match any other furniture I will now have to buy but they refused. They treated me like I was an idiot and that it was on the receipt that it was non refundable. We ordered a custom couch and I'm so pleased with not only the couch but my experience. The staff was extremely helpful and not pushy at all unlike other furniture stores.
