I agree with the other reviews that is a very dishonest company, DO NOT purchase their extended warranty service. I purchased this and have been trying since Sept. 7th to get at the least, the cleaning kit to remove spots on my sectional. I filed the claim online, sent pictures, they said send a video then they said send more pictures and they will get back to me in a week, that was Oct 17th, it's now Nov 8th. I still have not heard any communication at all. Then you can try calling them, you will be on hold forever and a day. Then you can press 9 for a call back when the next rep is available, I'm still wailing. My experience here was great! Jason was very friendly and a big help. He helped me with trying to look for a loft bunk bed/desk options that I might be interested in. However living spaces did not have much of a variety for me to choose from. Also Jason was very knowledgeable in the type of couch that I was interested in and helped me custom my couch into the layout that I needed. He also made sure that I was in good hands with Kelton as he was already ending his shift. Kelton was also very helpful in the purchase process. Highly recommend this store! This place is a scam. They will take your money and give u the worst possible customer service after swiping your card. Supposed to have 2 bed frames delivered but only 1 came. The lady I spoke to said the other bed frame is not avaliable for atleast another 4 weeks. Did not give us a call or received an email regarding this. They promised us that all units will arrive on the delivery date. I already ordered new mattresses that i have to put on the floor because of this inconvenience. We purchased a leather sofa from Living Spaces about 4 years ago. One of the main reasons we decided to move forward with the purchase was the ability add a warranty for 15% additional, which the sales rep assured us was high quality and would allow us to exchange our sofa easily if there was ever an issue. I found their sales people very aggressive overall, but took this woman's word for it. Fast forward to now, we have some serious seam separation happening which from my reading of the warranty plan is clearly covered. The warranty company has fully denied our claim (this particular company has terrible reviews as well). Their warranty on furniture is a total scam. I filed a claim after an accidental damage on the couch and living spaces or their associated company found every reason to reject my claim. Their drop down selections when filing a claim is meant to confuse the claimant and have them pick the wrong thing. Almost every selection one picks will reject the claim. They came up with excuses saying my contractors should file a claim when it wasn't even due to construction damage or anything. Originally, they used a different excuse for rejection of claim. I filed a report with BBB and living spaces is still not refunding what I paid for the so called warranty. This company is a fraud. I even contacted customer service and they are of no help. Claims to have nothing to do with the warranty company. What total BS. DO NOT purchase from a company scamming clients! Take your business elsewhere. We came here looking for a reclining couch and we had a great sales woman who was able to help us look up a couch and a recliner online and was able to give us a delivery date of a week later so we went ahead and paid and left the store happy but today came and only the chair arrived and not the couch ! Customer service never called , emailed NOTHING !!!! Customer service person was absolutely horrible ! Communication would have be so much better and would've saved so much time and headache. My husband and I were looking for a replacement for our sectional that we bought 2 years ago from another competitor. We looked at other furniture stores, and we finally made our way to Living Spaces in Millbrae. Right away, we were greeted by the store manager and told him what we were "browsing" for. He began to describe all the different areas and what we might find to our liking. So we started walking around the floor, and I kid you not, we were approached by an associate every 50 feet. Lol. We then met with Hellen Tellez, a supervisor. She asked what we were looking for and showed us everything in this massive 3 level store. Hellen listened and made suggestions, which was quite refreshing. After over an hour of looking, we found what we wanted, Hellen still by our side. We told Hellen that we had to go home and take measurements, just to make sure. I mean, it wasn't a cheap couch. We left with Hellen's phone number, and she kept in touch by letting us know when she would be at the store. We came back the next day, and Hellen met us. She began showing us all the different fabric and color options as this sectional was custom. Hellen spent another hour with us to make sure we would be happy with our purchase, she was amazing. You would think that commission would be the only reason she spent that much time with us, but it wasn't. They are not on commission, and this was just good old customer service at its finest!! Hellen told us that our sectional would arrive in about 6 weeks, and we would be sent emails to set to the delivery date. We received numerous emails advising us of the status and delivery. It was fantastic! They gave us an initial time-frame between 8-6pm, and the day prior, it was narrowed down to 10-1pm. This morning, we received emails and several text messages letting us know when the delivery drivers would arrive. They can't at 10:15am. The sectional was delivered securely wrapped and covered. They drivers set it up quickly and efficiently and disposed of the packaging. Needless to say, I/ we are EXTREMELY happy with our purchase. Living spaces has a lot of great stuff. We just bought a house and we went there to furnish it. Visited 2x. The salesman saw us the first time when we were just looking to see what they had and aggressively started trying to make sure that we came back to finish the sale with him. He took down our cell number onto his personal phone and asked us to text him a day prior to make sure he was working when we came in. I thought he was trying to be very helpful but after this whole experience we realize he was just trying to make a big sale. Here are the things that went wrong: 1. The couch/chair fabric we had seen the 1st time visiting (2 weeks prior) had sold out. They said we could customize the fabric, I loved that color so tried to get something to match that color as much as possible. I took a long time trying to find a good fabric, but was hesitant because I felt like the color would be too dark, I wanted something like a baby blue. They showed me the picture of the fabric on their website and said it will definitely come out like that which showed a light blue color. What I got was not that. I got a dark blue color instead. 2. The salesman kept telling me that we had a california king. I tried to correct him but he kept saying that every mattress that we buy in california is a california king. I felt like this was wrong info but he kept saying it over and over and made me really doubt myself. So we went with his suggestion to get a california king size bed. When it arrived our mattress was too small. 3. The chair I saw on the display floor was white. I asked for the same one. I got a beige color instead. We had to call the customer service number for just about every piece of furniture we bought because they would deliver the wrong pieces and then we had to get our other items fixed. I felt like they were very pushy to get the sale, doesn't matter at what cost it seems like and I keep trying to get the original custom couch fixed but the store seems to be ignoring me. Now I understand why this place has 2 stars - I will start off by saying every time you cut a corner expect someone to always ask if you need assistance. It was nice at first but then became annoying. They say they don't get any commission but I find that very hard to believe. After circling this place and finding stuff we liked they were either on back order or they would be willing to sell what they have on the floor as is. We decided to purchase a dining table set that was SOLD AS IS with 5 chairs. The person who helped us came back and said it was cheaper than what listed which was incorrect. When it was time to checkout we were told it was only 4 chairs included and the manager who placed the price on the table scanned it incorrectly as the table was sold in two pieces. We were set on buying the table so we continued with our purchase. As it was "sold as is" we went back to the dining set and was told to mark down any scratches that were noticeable. We did notice some and it was marked down on a paper. When it was time for pick up everything was wrapped and it was loaded on our truck. When we got to our house we noticed a huge scratch on the table that was never there. I for sure would have noticed this huge scratch and would not have agreed to purchasing this. They had the nerve to blame "LUGGERS" who we did not even use. We spent over $1,000 for this dining table set. It's obvious this big scratch happened during the packaging process. Wish I could rate them lower than one star. I also wished I had checked Yelp reviews prior to buying at their store. I have never seen reviews this awful except for fast food restaurants and Xfinity cable / internet. But these guys deserve to be in that echelon for their customer service and low quality goods. I purchased items at this store but also bought something online that was not available in store. But wherever you buy it doesn't matter - they have a blanket 7 day return policy that they don't tell you about. If you discover an item is defective on day 8 - their attitude amounts to - well that's your fault you should have shopped at a reputable company. I had just moved into a new place and was trying to furnish it with a few of their items and wasn't able to open their shipment within the unknown 7 day window. But when I did open it I saw a hideously deformed painting that bore little resemblance to what was listed on their website. But now I have to eat the $200 for this abomination. I plan on hanging it on a dumpster outside their store spray painted with the words "this war crime was painted by Living spaces - enjoy their 7 day return policy for defective items - but shhh they don't want you to know that". I hope I have enough space on the canvas for all of that, but l am pretty sure even spray paint will be repelled by the vulgarity of this monstrosity. So it's probably a futile gesture. If this company was better known they'd be more hated than the Trump Organization (to whom they've donated vast sums of money - so people tell me, perhaps the most money the world has ever seen) or Spirit Airlines. Well done in not giving a crap about repeat business or trying to be reasonable. Was on our way out after casually browsing sofas in the store when a saleslady came up and accused (in a mocking tone) my partner and I for cutting through the store from the back parking lot. First of all, I used to like livingspaces a lot. A couple of years ago, I bought two sets of sofa from livingspaces and I am still using them. Recently I moved to a new space and I need a lot more furniture to fill in the new space. After bought a couple of items and turned out that my whole shopping experience at livingspaces is horrible. I feel that the company is almost running like a a different company compared with couple of years ago. 2 out of 5 items which I have bought have problems. After one month of use, the white paint on one of the lamps are peeling off. I called the livingspaces and was told that I need to submit pictures to claim warranty. I was quite disappointed that It was only bought a month ago and it is clearly product defects and livingspaces is trying to claim the warranty from a third party (manufacturer) and I have to proof it. Another item which I bought looks really cheap and flimsy. I called the customer service and requested an exchange and I was told that I have to bring it back to a local store with the original package. I told them that the original box was opened already and I can't put them back (It was wrapped with cheap foams and after cut open, it is not possible to put them back). Livingspaces said that I won't be able to have an exchange if the item is not brought back within the original condition. I spent over 1.5k at livingspaces and I have to spend my precious after-work hours to claim warranty and argue about how to get an exchange. So I got a chance to talk to their chat representative today. I explained her that we got the claim filed but the technician will not come until May. I explained her that I am 9 months pregnant and don't feel Comfortable sitting on the couch that makes squeaky noise, and it's a bit scary to sit on it. So I asked them to either expedite the technician review process or return the couch. They said that they can't do anything. Btw.. it's not even a month old couch. If I can give minus 5, I will do that. We ordered 1 sofa and 1 bed frame. The delivery guy damaged my floor when installing the sofa. And the bed frame has one piece missing. I reported both issues. They told us the customer service and delivery are outsourced by different companies so it would take them several days to give a solution. They first offered $50 for floor damage and then cancelled !!! For the missing piece of the bed frame, they said the factory stopped manufacturing the one we bought so they can only offer a refunded gift card that we have to redeem soon( like in 60 days, not sure exactly). No cash refund! What's more, they refuse to recycle the bad bed frame !!? We end up purchasing a dinning set using the gift card and they asked us to pay for the shipping! We have to pay for the shipping as a result of their mistake?!! We decided to rent a uhaul and pick up ourself which saved us $100. No living space ever!!! read more

This is a decent place to come to if you're looking for a one stop shop for most of your household needs. We came in here looking for a new couch and dining table. The table selections were a little limited, but there were a ton of options for the couches. Everything is organized into sections (rustic, modern, recliners, etc) and a large majority of their selections are also customizable which is a nice feature. My husband and I couldn't agree on any one design so we didn't end up getting anything here but for others, it's likely you'll end up finding something that you like. The only turnoff is that it is immediately evident that the sales associates here work on commission. As soon as you walk in the door, it's like you're a fish and there are a bunch of sharks circling you. I might be exaggerating a bit, but off the bat there were 3 separate people that said hi to us and asked if they could help us find anything. Then every 3-5 minutes after that, we were getting greeted by someone different asking the same question. Consistent with other reviews I'm going to speak to my recent experience. I visited this store location and bought a sectional sofa from a sales rep Elaine? At the time of sale she was very nice and not pushy or at least seemed to be the case. I specifically told her I want this particular color as the floor model and would like it delivered on a certain date which was agreeable to store and me. When the couch arrived it was of different color. I had to send it back. Called the customer service number and was told to make any changes to order by going and visiting store personally. I run back to the store and find out the color of couch I want is backordered by over a month. Why wasn't this communicated to me in the beginning saving me the hassle. I say fine and I wait for one and a half months after which they do deliver the couch with the right color but the brackets between the sofa and loveseat are misaligned SMH. I have to go back to the store and was told that a third-party company needs to come and fix it. Please note that I paid full price for a brand new couch and have to go through all these hassles to get it fixed. Spoke to the manager there and he was of no help other than to have to get it fixed the way they want me to get it fixed. It's been over two months now the couch is still broken. I went here with my boyfriend looking to buy a couch for our new apartment. We knew which couch we wanted but needed help with the configuration, fabric colors, and an ottoman. We were greeted immediately after walking in the door. Alba was the best! She was so knowledgeable and walked us through everything to make sure we were getting the best couch for our space - even without having the exact dimensions of the room. Do not purchase from this place. They try to make money off of anything possible, and they provide no customer service. They do not explain additional charges to you at the time you make the purchase, and send you a terms and conditions after you make your purchase. They require a window of 8am to 6pm for delivery, and on the day of delivery, they will give you a 15-minute slot. You cannot make any requests for changing this 15-minute slot. Any rescheduling will incur an additional $139, and if you choose to simply cancel an order, they charge a 10% restock fee, in addition to the $139.00 delivery fee, even when the item is not delivered. Simply stated, there is no customer service, zero flexibility, and I will never use or recommend their service considering the time and stress involved in communicating with their staff who provide no help at all. read more

We came in, greeters were friendly and did a temp checked and found ourselves roaming in the beautiful Living Spaces with many selection of Furnitures. We were looking for a sectional couch and they had plenty, from clearance, to decent prices to high. Arthur helped us when we got to the second floor and mentioned they do not get paid commission so we felt at ease and he was very genuine with our purchase. He suggested he walk around the store with us so he can see what couch can be delivered ASAP. Overall, staff was great, selections and delivery options are a plus! The lady said they can schedule me for November 1st , I told her I had a delivery confirmation for today 0ct 24th and a time window. One of the most dishonest horrible companies I have ever dealt with. Worst customer service ever. I ordered a desk and a small chair at this location only because these two items were available for delivery the next day. I also paid $99 for full service delivery for assembling the desk. I was given a delivery window 8:00am - 3:00 pm on Tuesday for the zip code 94062. Come next day, they sent me several messages saying my items are on the way and will be delivered between 9 and 11:00 am. Then suddenly the delivery window changed to TBD without any explanation . So I called their customer service and they assured me that the items will be delivered the same day between 6:00pm and 12:00 am. They found a quality issue with the desk and that's why they couldn't deliver it earlier. So all day I had to stay at home to receive this delivery. They also sent me a confirmation email with the new delivery window for the two items I ordered. I have a copy of this email in case someone from this horrible company wants to confirm. Later in the day the day, I received more text messages confirming my delivery. I also got a 9-11:00 pm window. Then around 10:00 pm the delivery guy shows up with just a small chair!!! no desk!!! I asked him what happened to the desk and he has no clue. I called their customer service again next day and this time got a rude customer service agent who tells me that the desk is no longer in stock and cannot be delivered. I then requested a refund and now they tell me they will only refund the amount I paid for the desk - they will not refund the $99 that I paid for assembling the desk because they already delivered the chair. What? Why do I need full service assembly for a small chair? I could have put this chair in my car and brought it home if I wanted. Also, this dishonest company never told me they were planning to deliver only the chair! I can show you the email confirmation that they sent confirming delivery of both the items. Then I called again got another guy, but this time he says he would refund me $25 from the assembly charges. He understood that none of this is my fault, but he just can't refund the assembly charges I paid for the desk. In short, these liars never told me they are planning to deliver only the chair when I called. If they had told me that, I would have cancelled the whole order. They didn't want that - so they lied. They wanted to sell their chair and charge me $99 for something that required no assembly whatsoever. Now I have to wait 5-7 business days to even get the refund. In short, this dishonest company charged me full service assembly fee for a desk that was never delivered. Let that sink in. I was planning to buy a living room set - now I will shop someplace else.
