I had been searching for the perfect couch for over a year and finally decided on the Living Spaces Aquarius II in Light Grey. I ordered it online without seeing it so I was incredibly nervous. But it is absolutely GORGEOUS. It is so much nicer than the West Elm sofas I was considering at triple the price. The fabric is so soft and beautiful. I am so happy. The only thing is the couch separates from the chaise, so take a zip tie to hold the two pieces together beneath the sofa and it solves that issue perfectly. read more

If zero stars were an option! We had ordered expensive leather recliners a little over a year ago and had purchased their "Care" warranty (garbage is what it is). The motor on one of our loveseats stopped working so we had to file a claim. Well here is the start of our horrible experience. We filed a claim through uniters. Apparently, once your 1 year is up Living Spaces doesn't deal with you or your warranty and directs you to Uniters and Uniters sends you back to living spaces, so it's a never ending loop of finger pointing and incompetence. We had a tech come over and inspect our recliner and determined we needed a new motor. Well we waited what seemed like forever since our recliner was stuck in the up position, and not only was it an eyesore, but it was also dangerous since there are sharp metal components under the footrest and we have kids that see an opportunity to make a cave or accidentally bump their heads. After a month we got the run around from Living Spaces and Uniters and finally found out that the tech had just placed the order for our replacement part. ONE MONTH LATER! We learned to live with the dangerous piece of furniture for a bit since we had to wait another 6 to 12 weeks for the part to come in. Well after about 5 months of nothing we decided to order the parts and found it for pretty cheap and we fixed it ourselves within 2 weeks of ordering. Living Spaces is useless as well as their warranty I don't want the store credit for any of the warranties that I didn't use for my other pieces of furniture because I will NEVER buy anything from them again!! Save yourself the headache and pay a little more for better quality somewhere else. They are so compartmentalized that it's almost impossible to speak with a manager or anyone that has any authority to do anything, I'm surprised they're still functioning. ordered a couch online and got a call saying it was ready for pick up right on time. drove to the back and checked in. the people there were super friendly. as i waited it was windy so the guy turned on his portable heater. saw the couch on the dolly and two guys loaded it into my truck. quick and easy pick up. didnt actually look in the store but the warehouse portion was good. just a bunch of orders from people like me. everything went smooth and now im enjoying a brand new couch. read more

DISHONEST business practices. The sales rep Oohmit told us a sofa was in stock and ready to ship within 2 week time frame. I followed up a couple days later and was told that it was out of stock and not available until after 4 weeks. They won't even guarantee that the sofa would be ready to ship after 4 weeks which means the ship date could be pushed back further. The only option to resolve this problem was to offer a full refund which means there is no incentive for them to accommodate customers and go out of the way to help them. read more

I ordered a Bed Frame on Saturday and was told that they have 2 pieces left in Inventory and promised that it will be ready for pickup on Monday. Monday: I got a call saying that the pieces are in transfer and won't be ready for pickup on Monday. Tuesday: No calls/Updates from LivingSpaces. I call them and they say that they don't have inventory and they expected to receive new inventory on Tuesday and my order will be ready by Wednesday. (The good guy in me believed this) Wednesday: No calls from LivingSpaces. I call them up and they said my order is not ready and is expected to be picked up on Thursday. ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS??? You guys have no clue about your own inventory and orders. This has been my worst experience ever when shopping for a furniture. Came to living Spaces to buy a new couch. For the most part, the sales people are nice and knowledgeable. After spending sometime there we got it all squared away to have the couch delivered to our home. When the couch arrived that's where the problems began. They brought us three pieces which is correct but two of the pieces were the same therefore making the couch unusable. Customer service said well they can deliver it the next day. I took the day off of work to receive the couch on a Friday. After some back-and-forth they finally agreed to bring the couch at 9 PM. When the delivery arrived at 9pm they did not bring the correct piece. I called customer service and of course no answer. I emailed the store manager and no response. I tried calling the store first thing in the morning and to my surprise, your calls get directed to some calling center so you actually can't call the store. (WTF) I requested a $200 discount off my bill for the waste of time and they told me no. End of story. Lesson learned here, they're good at selling things but not very good at delivering what they promise. read more

I bought a California King Blake bedframe about six months ago. It is a beautiful bed, is sturdy (which is important because there's another bedroom below ours), and can be used with or without a low-profile boxspring, which is great because we recently got a puppy and found that our bed is too high for him... The only drawback with our experience is that there was some splitting on one corner when we assembled the bed, but it was on the interior, and we secured it with some wood screws we had. When we ordered the bed it was not in stock and there was a three week lag on it being delivered, but it arrived at the store 1.5 weeks early, so we got it earlier than expected. Unlike Ikea, they only display a portion of the website's offering, so you might have to visit a distant store to see the piece you want in-person. Each product's page indicates where the item is on display. Great in-store and loading doc (Wilmer was very helpful) experience all around. We visited twice before our purchase; the first time we asked just to browse, and the second time we wanted help finalizing our purchase and got the appropriate amount of attention. Each of our visits was on a weeknight, so maybe that helped. read more

I hate shopping, and was not looking forward to the experience to come. My wife recommended we stop at the Living Spaces in Millbrae first. I had never heard of it (doesn't mean much as I don't stay up to date on furniture stores). When we arrived, I was surprised to see it was the old Kohl's location. I had no idea this was going to be such a large store! We walked in, and were immediately greeted by a rep informing us they do not get paid commission and are there to help. This right away made me happy and feel like we were truly going to have a chance to shop vs. being pushed to buy. After viewing some couches, we began being approached by other reps asking if we had questions. They were all very helpful and answered all of our questions without trying to push a sale. Eventually, we found a great looking down sectional which was perfect. A sales lady came to help us and she was very knowledgeable and guided us through the final decision points we needed to understand prior to making a purchase. She even allowed us to go grab a bite to think on it prior to making our final decision. When we got back to order the couch, the same lady walked us through all of the paperwork and made sure we understood all of the details around the extended protection plan, shipping/delivery, and all the financials. Since it was a custom order, the couch arrived in about 2.5 weeks. The delivery scheduling was all through text and the delivery crew showed up on time, took care of the goods, treated our home with respect, and left without any hassle. They even allowed us time to make sure the couch was in good shape prior to leaving. A+ service! Our next big furniture purchase will be at Living Spaces. We bought a sofa a couple weeks ago and my kid has a serious reaction to it. Called customer service to ask for an exchange and was denied one since it is past 7 days. Customer service did not provide any sympathy to our situation and was very rigid on the return policy. The manager on the phone told me to get a bracelet for my kid since she is allergic to the sofa they sell. A responsible company would at least try to work with the customers and offer some kid of alternatives instead of simply put a stop at the 7 day return policy they created. Positives: Large location with three stories, easy to find parking. Negatives: The prices were quite high, even for "clearance" items. I am not willing to spend $250 for a small clearance nightstand. What really irritated me was the way I was constantly approached and hassled by the employees. The first employee at the entrance assured me they are not commission based. I asked a few questions and he sent me towards certain areas. Cool. Walked less then a minute and was approached by another man who said "I heard from *insert name here* that you're looking for a headboard and nightstand!" I said yes and was just looking around. Asked me questions about the size of my bedroom, what color I like, and then pulled me around to different displays. I tried to get away and just peruse on my own, BUT HE KEPT FOLLOWING ME. Kept asking me questions and making comments on furniture and I kept saying "oh ok"/"that's nice". He would NOT leave me alone, he found me at least three other times and tried to pull me around the store. Two other employees asked me the same questions, which by at this point I was just tired of having to answer the same questions. I wanted to look at items in peace, test them out at my leisure. I did not appreciate being stalked and constantly interrupted by employees. I also saw a couple that was being similarly followed by a different employee. TL;DR: The sales associate and manager were liars, and the delivery experience was a total disaster! The sales associate promised a delivery date of our furnitures but nothing arrived. Later we found out it was scheduled a week later. We went to the store to ask about this. The manager had a very bad attitude. He said: "You won't get your furnitures delivered, so what? What do you want?" Finally they promised us they would scheduled another "same day delivery", but that was a lie as well. We called the delivery service next day noon time and heard that nothing was scheduled, while they promised they would schedule that for us in the morning. Finally in the actual delivery time, wrong parts were delivered, making our furniture unable to function. They scheduled another "rescue delivery", however that was a disaster as well...you guess...never arrived! I have to call them again and they said the parts were unavailable and we have to wait at least another week to receive them! read more

I called today to confirm delivery this week and was informed THEY CHAIRS WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE as the manufacturer discontinued the item. It is still on their website for sale and NOT marked Out of Stock. Additionally, they KEPT the nearly $1000.00 payment I had made on my credit card. So happy that this store is now open in our little millbrae downtown...it has given our downtown a "facelift" In terms of the what the store has to offer.... a vast collection of furniture that would please the eye of anybody who is looking for furniture from traditional to contemporary and everything in between...like most people it is easy to compare it with IKEA but I would say that living spaces is the love child of IKEA and potterybarn... Horrible customer service if you need anything repaired under their warranty service. Our claim was entered on Dec.14, 2019 and as of today (Jan.31, 2020) after either being told my claim can not be found or disconnected, or left on hold for 15 minutes, my chair has not been fixed or replaced. I ordered three simple white dining room chairs. They said they would be in store to pick up 10 days later. Went to pick them up, they were not there. Let's just say after three weeks of me calling customer service 9 different times, my chairs showed up 1 month later, covered in black grease from the delivery guys using their dirty hands to handle the chairs. Overall experience was exhausting and disappointing. Definitely don't recommend is you actually want furniture pieces delivered on time and In good condition. Not worth the hassle. read more

OK, sometimes stuff happens. When it does, the real issue is how a company responds. Living Spaces contacted me to apologize for the hassle. The defective rug was returned without any issue (the warehouse personnel apologized profusely) and customer service contacted me to let me know the other rug had arrived earlier than expected. I wonder if the negative reviews are from competitors. We purchased furniture from the Fremont location last year and could not be happier. This is NOT IKEA, people. You don't assemble the furniture yourself. It's also not Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, although the dualing sofas we purchased here have received more than one "is that from Restoration Hardware?" comment, which made us happy. The pricing is reasonable for what you are buying. If you want a $300 sofa, then yes, you should go to IKEA. The Millbrae location is only different because of the layout. If you want to take your furniture that day, you can go to the East Bay and haul it home yourself...we did, and we survived to tell about it. They have different levels of furniture which will correlate to the price. There is a display right when you walk in the door of the Millbrae location showing that. We were not approached ONCE by a salesperson. However, there were ample salespeople in the event that we did need help. They must have gotten the message from the reviews, or like I said in the beginning, are they suspicious reviews? If you're shopping at House of Values, Macy's, PB or RH outlets, then you should try here, too. I think their styling is more Harvest than anything else, but at a lower price point. read more

The staff in the Millbrae store are great. We had a wonderful shopping experience, and MacKenzie in the mattress department couldn't have been more helpful. It's so disappointing that I feel I have to give my overall experience with Living Spaces a one-star rating. The delivery and subsequent calls to customer service attempting to remedy the issue were terrible. I don't know; I feel like when you're spending several thousand dollars in one go, a company would be eager to resolve any issues quickly and satisfactorily. I would never have made the purchase if I had known what I was getting into. Now that I see the other reviews here, it's pretty clear my experience wasn't isolated. worst experience ever. I ordered a sleeping sofa and after 4 weeks of waiting, I only got a mattress. After 1h at the phone I was told that they did not know when the sofa would be available. I told them to cancel my order. Instead they made a mistake and they canceled another ongoing order for another couch (of course not ETA for this couch as well). Because of this mistake, I decided to wait for the other couch. They called me the day after telling me that the couch I paid for is not available anymore and instead I can purchase the one they have on display. INSANE. In the delivery I was supposed to receive a bookshelf: again during the 1h phone call they told me that the bookshelf was lost. I am not sure why they sell items that they don't have. I ordered a platform bed with storage, two night stands, for delivery and setup on 7/2/2020. They delivered the same day and the two setup guys were pretty quick in their setup. However, after I looked at the bed, it does not have the storage drawers and the platform, as I ordered and confirmed with the salesperson. On my receipt, it clearly spells out as FLYNN QN HEADBOARD PANEL/STORAGE BED $250.00 1 $250.00 I informed the delivery guy the problem and he recognized it from the receipt and called the living space. The lady on the phone said that was a sales error and I only paid for the one without storage. I told her that the receipt clearly spells out storage bed. She ignored it and blamed the store sales person for the error. I told her that we will cancel the order and just take the bed away. They refused to do so. I told them that we specifically want a platform bed and do not need a standard bed, which defeats the purpose of my order. They just keep pushing the blame to another department. I told them that the bed delivered is not our order, it belongs to someone else, and we do not want to touch the bed. They should take it away. They again refused. The delivery guys left without my signature. The next day, I did not receive any phone calls, and tried to call their company. But the phone number did not work. We have purchased a sofa and loveseat at a store and we have paid extra $99 and were promised for items to be delivered and assembled, and all trash from packaging to be removed. When delivery guys arrived today the item was delivered fully assembled and they told us that they will not fit in elevator and we showed them that they can use stairs to second floor where apartment is. They went to measure the hight of the hallways which is ridiculous because they do not need bringing the item vertically, normal people bring it horizontally. Very unprofessional delivery guys! when I called and asked why the item was already assembled and not brought and assembled in the apartment as promised, they told me that how it comes... I been told I will get charged 10% restocking fee because they can't deliver it. I told them I do not refuse delivery and they could have used stairs to deliver it but I still been told they will charge me 10% restocking fee because they can't deliver it. The coach and loveseat we have purchased were one of the smaller ones, I can imagine for people that buy bigger then what we both. Our building is compliance with all normal size elevator and stairs and excuses that we got that they can't bring up because it does not fit are hilarious. When I asked if they re deliver and we would bring up our self, I been told by a manager that I would have to pay $59 re-delivery fee. Also, I asked since they can't deliver to our apartment as they promised, would I get my $99 delivery fee refunded and I been told no. So I told them I do not refuse delivery and if they can't deliver to me and assemble as promised I request a full refund! I went to the Living Spaces store in Millbrae, CA and I have to say I had a very good shopping experience. The staff were helpful but didn't badger you or pressure you. I ended up buying a couch, accent chair, 2 end tables, a sofa table, a coffee table, 2 area rugs and an entertainment center. All in all, I spent several thousand dollars on a whole new living room. I was excited with my purchases and couldn't wait to get the new furniture. This is where my good experience ended. My delivery service experience was horrible. I sat home all day waiting for the delivery, had all my living room furniture removed from my home, only to have the delivery never show up. When I called customer service I was told that the driver tried to access the building and couldn't, so they left. WHAT!! I live in an apartment building and you need to be buzzed into the building. I never received a call from the driver or did he/she use the code for me to buzz then up. They just left. Earlier in the day I had a service come to remove my old furniture and they had no problem accessing my building because they actually tried. I am now waiting for a call from a manager at their customer service center to see when they can reschedule the delivery. Which will most likely be several days. I spent several thousand dollars at this store and now have to live with no furniture for who knows how long. I read several other reviews about how bad the delivery service was and I should have listened. I was planning on buying furniture for the bedroom in a few months but I seriously doubt I'll be going to Living Spaces. I will write another review when and if this all gets sorted out, but as of now I am pretty livid. UPDATE: I called customer service to set up another delivery appointment since a manager never called me. She set me up with a delivery on Monday (I'm off for Columbus Day thank goodness) between 8:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. I called today just to verify all my information so I didn't get a repeat performance and the appointment was never made. SERIOUSLY! I finally did get to speak to a manager and the best they could do was have the furniture delivery on Monday between 6:00 P.M. and midnight. From reading all these terrible reviews, there's not much that hasn't been said. We got furniture two times from them. Both times they were incorrect or faulty. The latest time, we bought a glider and ottoman and they gave us miss-matched colors (after spending about 30 min making sure we picked the right colors). When I called to exchange it they said we have to go through the warranty.... WHAT??? How about you send someone over with the right color ottoman instead?? So we get the delivery time Saturday 3pm to 6pm so we remove the old couch and waited. 9pm no show 5 hours later no couch and still waiting. Haven't had an issue ordering items from Living spaces. I've ordered a small fabric sectional couch and two twin beds. Didn't have any issues with the color I received or anything else so far. Ive had the couch for about 2 years and it still holds it's shape nicely. If I end up washing the cushion cover, it looks as new. Will update if my experience changes. read more

So I stopped by they have variety of choices! the crew were so nice almost at every corner they would greet and ask whether you are looking something particular. This store has 3 floors. First floor more heavy huge sofas, bed frames, etc. Second floor were more like chairs, light 1 person sofa, etc. Third floor was light bed frames. I ordered a two piece sectional from them on 11/15. I knew from the beginning that it would take a few weeks to arrive which was fine. I received it about a month later and did not realize until unwrapping it that one piece came in the wrong color and the other piece came damaged. I contacted living spaces and notified them of these issues. They told me it would take another month to receive the correct order. I asked a manager if this could please be expedited because my family had no place to sit and watch tv, etc. After multiple attempts and hours of chatting via phone and online chat I never heard back from a manager/supervisor. FINALLY on 01/06 (almost two months after ordering and paying for the couch) the delivery company was expected to pickup the wrong order and deliver the new one. The delivery company was supposed to call 30 minutes in advance so that I could have everything ready. They did not call and they came at the crack of dawn. Because I did not have it ready they refused to deliver the new couch, even though I said they could come back later today or tomorrow. They left and I am now learning that my order is headed back to the delivery facility and I will have to reschedule my delivery which will take a week or two. Living spaces continues to tell me to WAIT. I paid in full for a couch two months ago that I do not even have in my house yet and the ETA is still not determined. Their delivery partner is not competent and neither is living spaces customer service. I have made countless phone calls and e-mails. I had never before visited this store but I saw a advertisement on television comparing the Casper mattress to the R1 mattress and I was in the market for a new mattress and Casper intrigued me. So today I went on August 20 to Millbrae (20 min drive) and I was visibly impressed before I entered. Three stories tall and huge floor space of magnificent furniture, lamps, rugs, accessories. Two people greeted me at the door with smiling faces and immediately said we are not on Commission so you may speak with any of us. We are eager to help you. When I asked about the Casper mattress challenge they directed me to the back left side of the store where all the mattresses are. Well needless to say I bought two of their Cal King mattresses not the Casper one. These were less expensive and they have a top on them that is chilly to the touch. ( the R2 model) I was amazed when I touched the top that it was cold. They said it's a copper technology. Marvin was my sales person and he did a great job with no pressure. So they will deliver my mattress is this Thursday for free and set them up. They will also take away the 15 year old mattresses and box springs for $11 each which is a government mandated charge.
