This was the absolute worst furniture purchasing (or any other kind of purchasing) experience I have ever had. We recently underwent a total house remodel and almost all of our furniture was old, so we tossed it. We made an appt and went to Living Spaces in Monrovia where on 5/5/20 and 5/8/20 we ordered furniture for 6 rooms in our house- approx 16 k of furniture. We received excellent service from Angelina and got a no interest with their finance partner Synchrony. Quite a bit of the furniture was delivered on 5/20 by 3 efficient and personable guys. Only a coffee table was rejected as defective. Then the PROBLEMS began. The new coffee table was to be delivered the following Saturday and no delivery and no call. I had to reschedule for 5/29/20. I have had to call Living Spaces many times since and have sat on hold for at least 20 min each time listening to that maddening song. Next I didn't receive any billing information from Synchrony and called to ask what my balance was according to them and asked about my payment due and date. They advised me a 3k invoice incurred on 5/20 had been added to the bill. I questioned that as no furniture for that amount was purchased by me on that date or any other date. Since I questioned it they cancelled my card and initiated a fraud investigation. A week later this confusion was cleared up by a representative from Living Spaces and I immediately called Synchrony to let them know no fraud was involved. I spoke with several people including the fraud department. I was assured that I could schedule delivery of my furniture in 48 hours or so. I called Living Spaces and scheduled delivery of the sofas on 6/4/20. First I got an email that the delivery would be scheduled between noon and 6:00pm on that date and I confirmed the delivery. Then I got another email advising the delivery would be between 1:45 and 4:45 pm. Great. My husband and I waited there for the furniture with our decorator friend but no delivery and no call. Finally at 4:55 Living Spaces called and said they couldn't deliver as Synchrony put a hold on my acct. The following day I called Synchrony first thing in the am and they said not only was my acct in good standing but they had already paid Living Spaces for all the furniture and there was no reason for them not to deliver our furniture. Since then I have called Living Spaces on 6/5, 6/6 and 6/8 and spoken to a manager, no one has called me back. I would not recommend anyone purchasing furniture from Living Spaces. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! BEWARE - FURNITURE ARRIVES DAMAGED!!! I will never spend one dime here again! I ordered a dining table online with a scheduled delivery time of 5pm-Midnight. I receive a call around 12:30am that they are running late and will not be at my house until 1:30 am! Ridiculous! When the dining table finally arrives it is SO badly damaged I have to tell the guys to take it back. The next day I assume I will receive a call from customer service to make everything right. Nope. I purchased a recliner, bought the five year warranty, made a claim for a broken switch on the recliner in May of 2021, and as of December 2021, recliner has still not been fixed. Chatted with customer service and they basically told me too bad, deal with the warranty provider that Living Spaces contracted with. This is despite me buying the warranty from Living Spaces. Contacted Living Spaces Customer Service regarding my special order sectional couch and no one had any idea where my couch was. I have called a total of 8 times and no one has had any idea. I am currently past the 4th week of the 3-4 week time that I was promised at the time of purchase that my couch would be ready. Customer Service department has contacted their Special Orders team, and never received an answer. Every time they sent an email to the Special Orders team (which was 4 times already), they guaranteed me a response within 24 hours and I have NEVER heard back. I called today just so they can tell me they received notice that my special order sectional couch would take another 4 weeks. Totaling to almost 8+ weeks just for a couch. Went in looking for a deep (depthwise) seat loveseat. Was paired with a rep (Ferooz??) whose mask was below his nose. I asked him to pull up over his nose and he did. As soon as he spoke 4 words down it went and again, I asked him to cover up. He did and again it came down. I explained I'm in the medical field and he interrupted me by putting up his hand as if shushing me and said "it's ok; I'm vaccinated". I said, "so am I but latest data shows that after 4 months the effectiveness is way down..." and did not finish my statement for he again interrupted to say he'd been a statistician before this job and knew what the stats were. I'd initially asked about a certain loveseat and he said they'd never had that in their store (even though I told him I'd ordered and cancelled it at that store) and he proceeded to take me to another set. I saw the one I'd mentioned and stopped while saying "this is the one I told you about". When I asked what the price was for the foam vs down he said it was the same thing. I knew that was not so and asked again. Three times he told me it was the same thing. He finally went and got a spec sheet, handed it to me saying "you'll find info here" and walked away. What an ass! Shem (another sales rep) came over a few minutes later, answered my questions and gave me some info I needed. And BTW, there is a substantial difference on price for foam and down. On my way out I asked to speak with a manager and got two (an Asian woman and a Caucasian gentleman) who both listened attentively without interrupting, and apologized for the reps behavior. They said they'd speak w/him as all customers AND staff are required to wear masks and wear them properly. They then answered additional questions re the piece of furniture I had looked at. I have to do some measuring to make sure it can fit through door. If it does, I'll be ordering through Shem (he is classy, polite, professional, and not pushy). I truly hope the managers speak w/the 'statistician' and make him understand that he needs to be mindful of customers health, his co-workers health, and his own. And if he doesn't get it, then he has no business being on the sales floor. read more

Update: I contacted Living Spaces Customer Service through the email i was given by their team on yelp and explained my concerns. They contacted me in less than 24 hrs and resolved my issue very quickly. I'm actually quite impressed at the service that i got from them hereafter. They brought in my couch 2 days later and have been enjoying it since. We got the Egan chaise from studio 7 and we love it. Perfect color (charcoal) looks very elegant and is super comfy for naps. Thanks Living Spaces!! Do not purchase from Living Spaces. I should have listened to my instincts and gone to Ashley's since their customer service is better. I ordered a custom sofa from them and was told that it would be ready in 2-3 weeks it has almost been 4 weeks and the sofa has not even left the vendor's warehouse. If you give a time frame make sure it's accurate because it's very inconvenient for your customers. well now former customer. AND I would still have to pay $100 for it to be delivered?! After waiting well past the time frame given and causing inconveniences for a paying customer the least they could do is deliver it for free as a courtesy. Ashley's Furniture is the way to go. I ordered from this company because they had several furniture pieces available immediately. This was false advertising. After setting up the delivery and flying to our second home to accept the order, Living Spaces called me at the last minute and cancelled all of the deliveries due to one piece not being ready. I had to extend my stay for several days to get them to deliver the readily available pieces. After five weeks of delays, I have finally cancelled their undelivered items. Head up - they use an offshore call center who don't know anything about the orders. Do not waste your time with this company. I spent several hours and calls learning that there is really nothing you can do as a consumer and everything is blamed on COVID. The wife and I needed to buy a sectional for our new home so we decided to stop by this Living Spaces since it was nearby and seemed to have a large selection. We looked around for a bit, but unfortunately the sectionals that we liked were not fitting the dimensions we were looking for. This is where Mora, their design consultant, came in and helped us out. She was able to understand what we were looking for and patiently guided us through the customization process. She definitely made the experience easy and never made us feel rushed despite the process lasting past their closing time. We will be back! read more

I had a horrible 5 1/2 months waiting and calling about my sectional sofa that never arrived and was canceled without my knowledge. They told me to expect 12 weeks for delivery. That was fine, but after 12 weeks I never got a phone call or email. When I called customer service I was told the material was on back order and to wait another 2 months. After 2 more months I was told I would be contacted within two weeks. After two weeks I found out it was cancelled. They never owned up to this whole situation being their fault. They could have just said the manufacturer can no longer make your sofa, or the material is on back order so we'll have to order a new one. Instead, they avoided contacting me and canceled my order without telling me. No one at customer service could tell me anything directly. This is all information pieced together from different parties. The only saving grace is that our sales associate, Teresa, was fun and pleasant but she had a pushy manager who wanted us to get damage protection which we never did. It's a good thing the sofa was charged to their finance card because if you charge it on your card you'll start paying for a sofa you may never get. My first recommendation is to steer clear of this store. My second is, if you're a gambler who wants to take your chances here, then at least finance your purchase because you won't have to start paying until your furniture is delivered if that ever happens! read more

I will never make another purchase at this joke of a store again. We bought a $4k bedroom set that was supposed to be delivered and installed. First attempt at delivery they didn't bring all of the parts for our bed. Had to wait around until midnight for second attempt. Again, didn't show up with the right part. Multiple phone calls begging for them to get it right. A third attempt will be made this week. You know what they offered me for the inconvenience? A $50 gift card to Living Spaces! What a joke. I told them to keep their gift card because we don't plan on ever going back again. $50 bucks is really their best attempt at keeping a customer after all of their screw ups? On 9-22-17 I went into living spaces in Monrovia and the sales girl Silvia Perez was very nice and helpful. I purchased a tempur pedic mattress and foundation and spent 3,844.66. I was offered the option to have my existing mattress and box spring taken away and no cost. I accepted the offer. When the delivery guys showed up 9-24-17 at approximately 10:00 they went upstairs and took the mattress and box spring away and placed my new one in. All the while one of them complained about his job and about how he works a lot of hours etc. I signed for the deliver and the removal of old mattress and box spring. I gave them a bottle of water each and they left. My neighbor said they just left them by the trash dumpster! I went out and sure enough they did. I called customer service spoke to rio and Angela supposed managers and they said he can't take it because it was used and had stains. He even told them it had cat hair! I don't own any animals! He lied so he wouldn't have to take it. I think they didn't want to have to take it to wherever they recycle them . They would not help me at all and still refused to pick it up. They were so rude and said they didn't charge me to take it so they can de used to take it or not. Terrible customer service! The only reason I gave one star was because the sales girl was really nice. The only dirt spot is on the side where they dragged it on the ground. I want to share my unpleasant experience with Living Spaces in Monrovia, CA. On the day my sofa was to be delivered to my condo, it did not fit in the elevator nor the stairwell. So unfortunately, it had to be returned. But before I purchased the item, I showed the sales rep all the measurements of the doorways & the elevator where I live, just to make sure that the item I am purchasing would fit. After checking, he said the sofa will fit. What makes me so frustrated now is that according to a store staff that I spoke over the phone, the store manager (whom I never got to speak with) will NOT WAIVE the "re-stocking fee of 25%", even if I will order another sofa with the same or higher price. The bottom line is...I still need to pay $198.75 for a mistake I didn't make! The store manager did not even re-consider waiving the fee even if I had measurements of the doorways & the elevator. Sales associates Stephanie assisted me in making a big purchase. One item was unavailable at the time and I was told that I was able to make a split purchase, meaning that when the unavailable item became available, I would be able to purchase the item without paying for the full service charge twice. I would only have to pay once and then other full service charge would be waived. I was told by not only Stephanie, but also Maggie and also the sales supervisor, Sina, who actually signed off on this. Stephanie stated that she had made a note in my order for the waived fee and there was nothing to be found when looking for that note. Lied straight to my face. Today, when I went to make the second purchase of the unavailable item, I was told, by Sina, the sales supervisor that he never said that, and stated "I don't know where you got that from." Seems like the sales associate, Stephanie had lied, as well as, Sina, their so-called supervisor, and wanted to make a sale. I was given false promises. There is no integrity in these people I interacted with. Even after all the money spent at this place, they couldn't honor what was promised. I will never shop here again. Five stars for our entire experience! We were at the 3rd "mattress store" of the day. Mr. E. was getting tired. He'd been in the hospital not long ago, but REALLY needed a new mattress. He didn't think he could walk to the back wall, where they were located. One of the "greeters" cheerfully pointed out a riding scooter he could use. He was reluctant at first, but, before long, he was riding it and smiling! Luda was busy with another customer, but promised to wait on us next. Mr. E. was able to get the size, firmness, and price he wanted. Luda was so nice, and accommodating! Delivery was available for the very next day, and all of that went as smooth as silk, too! You guys.... Don't buy from Living Spaces. Their prices are quite low and affordable and that's for a reason. Their furniture is junk and the company doesn't stand behind it's products. I special ordered a couch, ottoman, and accent chair. The fabric on the couch and ottoman immediately shows every piece of dust, dirt, paw print, anything and everything you can imagine. It's not because the color of the couch. I have had light couches before, but it was made with appropriate materials. I reached out to the company and they can't do anything to help. The accent chair fabric is already pulling like loose yarn on a sweater. I've only had this furniture for 3 months. I've also filed 2 warranty claims with the extended care warranty I purchased and they also are refusing to help fix any of these issues. So I have 3 month old furniture that I have to keep covered with blankets just to make them usable. I have never had furniture so cheaply made. You get what you pay for here.... My lesson learned is that it is best to spend a little more money for quality products that will last..... do not buy this cheap crap. And don't think the extended care warranty is going to help you either. Find a company that will stand behind its products read more

I'm disappointed that I have to write this review considering that I've shopped at Living Spaces before and had only positive things to say. Our home is in need of some new sofas. With a new baby in the house, it's difficult to get out and shop, so today I was happy to have grandma in tow for some assistance. Baby was fast asleep and things were going smoothly. After about one hour of browsing, I found the sofas we wanted on the showroom floor and I went to the customer service desk to order them -- only to learn that they had been "discontinued." Baby woke while I was talking to customer service and was inconsolable. The large store was empty (it was 5:30 pm on a Wednesday evening), so I found a spot on one of the showroom couches and tried to discreetly nurse my crying baby using a burp cloth. Just as Grandma and I were discussing the need to take baby home, a female employee (I assume a manager) came over and asked if we wanted water and made some nice comments about the baby. I was flustered, as baby was still crying and we were trying to leave, but I wanted to be courteous. The employee asked me if baby was hungry and I said "No, he's tired." She then asked me if I breastfed the baby and I confirmed that yes, I did. She apologized that the store "did not have a nursing room" but that I was "free" to sit on one of the couches and "breastfeed while covered up." These crude and unnecessary suggestions did not go over my head. I politely responded "no, we are going home. " I walked out of Living Spaces angry and embarrassed, and breastfed my baby in the car. I honestly never thought I would have this kind of interaction. This is my second child, and I am always very self-conscious about breastfeeding in public and do my best to remove my children if they are causing commotion. I almost always use my large nursing cover-up, only to spare others from discomfort at seeing a woman's bare breast while nursing her child. On this night, my baby was crying very loudly and I was trying to quiet him as *quickly* as possible before making the decision to leave the store. I would like to give the manager/employee who spoke to me the benefit of the doubt and believe she was trying to help me out by "allowing" me to breastfeed in the store. But she made a very insensitive and inappropriate suggestion that I "cover up" while breastfeeding after very overtly implying that the only appropriate place to breastfeed while not "covered up" is a "nursing room," which she was "sorry" that Living Spaces did not have. Let me be absolutely clear: nursing rooms are a welcome luxury, if available, but almost no stores or restaurants have such facilities, NOR DO THEY NEED TO. I am (as I am sure all breastfeeding mothers are) perfectly capable of nursing my baby in a discreet manner so as not to disturb others and to try and comfort my baby, if possible, so that I can continue what I'm doing. If he is not consolable, I am quick to leave and resign myself to come back another time. It's extremely inappropriate for a stranger to (1) inquire about how I feed my baby; and (2) suggest that I should "cover up" while nursing my baby if I remain in the store. This is a gross invasion of privacy and decency, and it might even be unlawful. (See Cal. Civ. Code sec. 43.3 - "Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a mother may breastfeed her child in any location, public or private.") I was ready to spend upwards of $1,000 at Living Spaces tonight, but it is doubtful now that I will ever return to your store. Let me make a suggestion: hold sensitivity training for not only this employee, but everyone who interacts with customers, about what is appropriate and inappropriate (and what is lawful and unlawful) to say to nursing mothers, so that something this unfortunate does not happen again. I'm fortunate to know my rights, but others might not -- you have a responsibility to your customers to know better and do better. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM LIVING SPACES. Customer service goes away after you take delivery of the product. Their products are low quality. They damage easily, and if they are defective, Living Spaces will not honor their warranty. Their VIP Care is a waste (they do not respond timely and they, too, will not honor your claim for a defective product). I purchased a table, 4 chairs, and a bench in Nov 2015. When they delivered the items, I had to refuse 3 chairs because they were chipped/damaged. The delivery guy even used a brown marker and tried to play it off that the chairs were OK. They weren't. They came back the next day with 3 chairs. In March, I noticed that the surface of the table was warped and bubbling, and a crack was growing on top of the bubble. According to the VIP Care documents, "5. Any warping, lifting or bubbling of veneers" were covered, so I went online and filed a claim. I uploaded pictures of the damage, and after several weeks, they denied my claim stating "It has been determined that the damage reported is still under Living Spaces' one-year manufacturer's warranty.  Please contact living spaces at 8772667300, option 3." Before one year was up, I called Living Spaces and tried to have them repair the defect. I sent new pictures of the damage (the crack has actually grown). After a couple of days, they called and said my claim is being denied and that I need to call VIP Care - the same people who denied it a few months ago. The lady I spoke to said that the damage was not due to a defect. I asked how she can tell from the pictures if it was a defect or not, and she simply stated that there are other scratches on the table and some discoloration on the surface that are not defective, so my claim was being denied. I suggested sending the picture I sent to VIP Care back in March, and she said that "unfortunately, they have to go with the most recent pictures." I suggested sending a technician to look at the defect in person, and instead, she said she will escalate the case to someone higher. I am hoping that this "escalation person" will be more reasonable and have some understanding of customer service. I purchased VIP Care thinking I was going to have some peace of mind in case the product got damaged later on, but they won't even honor warranty claim on a defect. The VIP Care suggested going to Warranty, and the Warranty folks said to go to VIP Care. To top it off, they are saying they will not cover the defect because of other damages to the table that was due to normal wear and tear. To clarify, the product i purchased had a defect, but Living Spaces will not honor the warranty for it because there are wear and tear stuff on the table that they do not cover. To top it off, VIP Care won't cover the item because it's supposedly covered under Warranty. To save you the headache. Please go somewhere else. If you're buying furniture here don't! I bought a couch on November 2 and it is still not here. They say they would deliver my couch 2-3 weeks, and the person said the latest would be November 27. That time came around and it was not delivered. Called the customer service and the agent told me 3-4 weeks. And it still never came so I called again and this agent tells me 4-5 weeks and says I'll send you the receipt that I see. Clearly I didn't get an update that my couch was being pushed back for another week. They wouldn't even give me any compensation for my inconvenience for not telling me that my furniture was being delayed. The customer service is horrible and don't waste your time buying furniture here because you won't get it for another month. read more

Experience in store was decent, but I feel as though I was fed false information. We were told that custom couches take 2-3 weeks and I was advised that our couch would take closer to 2 weeks since being made local. I tried reaching out at the 2 week mark to confirm delivery time in order to get rid of old couch to create space and no one had an answer. 1-800 number was useless. I kept on being told I would get a call back with delivery time and never did. In all for this one item, I probably had to call 10+ times for the duration because no one was ever helpful. Then we decided to get rid of our couch right before 3 weeks after order assuming it would come any day - NOPE! Still no couch and customer service still didn't have an updated eta. Time after time I was told a manager would call back with no luck. After many of frustrated hours on the phone, after having to cancel items held at our couch (since we got rid of old couch in time frame noted) and almost at 5 weeks (instead of the quoted 2-3 weeks), we got our couch. Was sorely disappointed in the inaccurate information, lack of communication, etc. Ordering the couch you have to sign something that if you need to cancel your order after the first day, then you are charged 25% of the total couch. However, they can apparently deliver your item 2 weeks late, with extreme inconvenience to the customer and they could care less. Doesn't seem like a fair playing field. read more

After reading all the negative reviews, I was very worried about purchasing and getting my furniture delivered. My in-store experience was great - always someone around to help and answer my questions (I went in about 3-4x). So the day comes, I finally picked my furniture out and was ready to purchase the next day. At some point in the day, i figured I should check out Yelp to see what others said about the furniture & delivery. I was horrified... Basically the reviews are terrible & nearly all of them are in regards to the delivery. This scared me enough to not place my order. After a few weeks of searching for a new set of furniture i liked, i decided to give up and just go back to Living Spaces as a friend just had a good experience with delivery. So i went in to purchase and scheduled my delivery... I was so happy to find that the process couldn't have gone smoother....phew! My delivery window was 1st thing in the AM and as luck would have it, i was the 1st delivery of the day! My furniture came all pre-assembled so the guys didn't need to do anything except unload the truck and place in my house. I love my new furniture and I'm so happy i went back. One of the worst places for furniture, never buy anything from this company and if you decide to ignore many of the yelp reviewers recommendations including mine, I'm sure you'll regret it. Don't even bother with the extended warranty option, as trying to use the warranty is virtually impossible. You'll spend hours on the phone with a representative and never get an answer for what you were calling for in the first place. We bought a rug and some decor pieces here recently and purchased the extended warranty. I got a few stains on the rug and called living spaces to get info on how to go about using the cleaning service that accompanies the VIP warranty. The rep referred me to the company they use for this portion of the warranty. Service USA, after spending what seemed like forever on hold I finally was paired up with Marshall who informed me that my stain didn't fall under the applicable stains covered under the warranty. This makes zero sense as the contract I have states any and all stains are covered under the warranty. Long story short, stay away from this company and their web of lies, you're better off going to Ikea. At least they hold up their warranties and you know what you're getting. read more

Purchased a sectional, coffee table and sofa table, set for a Saturday delivery. So I got rid of my current furniture on Friday- Except when L.S. showed up they told me the couch was back ordered. No one knew when it would arrive, when it would be rescheduled, just that it wasn't on the truck.( WTF?) I called customer service got a rep who had no idea how to handle a situation like this and could not give me any info. Very frustrating. Long story short, I had no where to sit for 3 days had to take another day off from work for re delivery and absolutely no compensation from L.S. for failing to do the job right the 1st time. Worst delivery experience ever! I'm 5 months pregnant and was jolted from my sleep at 7:45 am that my couches were being delivered in 20 min. The delivery people said they can try to reroute to 10 which was my original time (confirmed by electronic voicemail delivery from 10am to 1pm the day prior). The customer service rep called me to say they would have to wait until 10 if they showed up early this was really stressful since what they both said wasn't correct. The ottoman I ordered wasn't on the truck with the sofa and love seat. Fine I can deal with that. The delivery guys dropped my pieces on the way up to the house and I had to sign a waiver releasing them of liability. They had to put my cushions on a moving pad on the side walk. Then they smoothed the cushions back in the plastic wrapping. For paying over $2000 for furniture I felt the quality of the delivery man handled my furniture and didn't even apologize to me!! The entire process stressed me out! This will be the last time I buy furniture from you. You can't deliver this way. Your brand wasn't properly cared for by the delivery service and I feel that my couches aren't that great anymore and I'm stuck with it. Thanks a lot! read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! We bought a new home recently and wanted to furnish it with new pieces so I ordered my couch from here. All in all my sectional couch cost me close to $2k, well if its nice it's worth it right? The sales people here are so desperate to make a sale I feel like they outright lied to me. I ordered a four piece sectional and they claimed that these pieces will be connected. When the sectionals were delivered, there was NO CONNECTION. I was told by the delivery boys that to call customer service and see what they can do. After a few rounds of calling customer service at their store and their corporate office. I explained to them I have hard wood floors and the sectionals are very light and the pieces tend to skid a bit when we sit on it. They said they would send someone out to evaluate it. So a few days later, a technician came out to exam my couch and told me that they could install some parts to help it hold together. They also told me the parts will be sent to me at home. Two weeks later, no parts received, no follow up calls either. I eventually called them and see what's going on, they told me that the parts cannot be ordered and cannot be installed. I was very disappointed and explained to them that if I knew this ahead of time, I would not have ordered the couch but it's been past 7 days since the furniture was delivered so I cannot take it back. To add salt to the wound, I purchased the VIP care plan (5 yr of protection plan) in case of something happened. I called their protection plan service " Ultra Shield", I was told they couldn't find my acct. I was routed back and forth many times and finally found out that Living Space switched companies, and the new company is called Service USA. Well, were they were plan to tell their customer that they switched insurance carriers? I called Service USA and requested a cleaning kit. It took 10 weeks to finally receive that kit!!! I had to call multiple times and spoke to different people, all claimed it was sent out and I never received anything. I was so frustrated and I just called Living Space to cancel my plan. Why do I need a protection plan when it doesn't even help me when I need it? I can't believe the sales lady at Living Space had to the guts to tell me to give her 10/10 for satisfaction survey since her bonus is dependent on it.
