It's taken me long time to write this review because I thought my right knee would get better . Unfortunately it gets worse everyday . At this point I have find a Knee Doctor . And I'm Happy they are out business . Here goes my review . 1st) Connie the Receptionist was totally flaky . She took one of my Health Insurance to copy it & forget to return it to me . I thought I lost so I had my insurance send me new one. Why didn't she call me immediately to tell she had my insurance card ? 2nd) Time my office visit with Katie for my PT therapy was 2 pm. Since I walk slowly because my knees & my back I came early . I ringed their doorbell a Message with Connie's voice said they wouldn't be open till 3 pm . I called them while in the foyer of the Building & got the same information from their answering machine with Connie's voice . I walked home because I believe they were closed till 3 pm & Connie called me immediately telling I was late ??? And I had to return or pay a fee cancellation . Saw Katie for 10 minutes for PT that day . 3rd) Katie Pt knew my knees were horrible they'd pop & crack all the time & I went there for Back pain . Last time she made do an exercise that totally screwed up Right Knee . I had to sit on a chair and hold dumbbell over my head with both arms . My right knee popped & it as killing with pain . She asked to do it again ( honestly I forget if did again because I was in so much knee pain ) ? I was in so much pain I just wanted to HOP home literally but complained to the Tall Women with Purple Colored Hair . And I never came back . Now need know how I can precede to get my knee better ? If I need knee surgery hmmm there will be another serious step ( not a pun) . The Indian Female PT I should used but had no choice . Wrecked my vision, jaw and neck after a bad manipulation and basically wrecked my life. Spent years running around to doctors appointments trying to undo the damage they caused. I can't discourage people enough from trusting this business. When I went back in to tell the doctor what had happened he tried to sell me a massage and gaslight me instead of taking accountability. The team at Living Well Balanced in my experience works very well together, so that the chiropractor (whomever it is, currently either one of two on duty) can tailor his/ her work according to the status noted by my PT (Physical Therapist), and even the occasional massage therapist. All have access to my history and latest notes. I have been under treatment for the past year (May '21 - May '22) after needing rehab re being bedridden for a couple months post hospitalization. The PT from the hospital (one of the best in NYC) had visited me and given me basic instructions, but these were not really enough, I found out. For an unrelated issue a friend recommended LWB. After making steady progress back to the pre hospitalization state, the LWB team found many more areas that could be improved, and went about helping me address them one by one. Some were never addressed properly by prior PT's BTW. So in a way getting hospitalized was a blessing in disguise ! read more

I never leave negative reviews online ever but I've thought a lot about this and need to warn other people from going here. I had the worst experience of my life last year with this chiropractor. I came in for (liveable) back pain and after an adjustment of my jaw woke up with jaw, neck and head pain that took over my life. Everyday I'd wake up with the excruciating jaw pain that affected my work and normal day-to-day life. I went back in after it happened (I've never had a jaw issue in my life) and the chiropractor said "It's not like your back was perfect before" and tried to sell me on a massage. If he had actually tried to help me and hold himself accountable I would not be writing this review. It took me a year and a half of physical therapy and thousands of dollars to alleviate my pain that he caused and my jaw is still not the same. Dr. Prakash and his staff are knowledgeable, personable, and caring. As a returning patient, I feel like a part of a big family; Dr. P. holds monthly dinner parties where clients can mingle and hear a guest speaker talk about health, or anything else. Upon your first visit, you will first be impressed by the extensive evaluation process. Be prepared to have basically every aspect of your health evaluated and presented in a packet that you can refer to after being tested again after a few months of treatment. Dr. P. is passionate about his own education, and sometimes takes off a day or two to work on his own personal development by going to lectures, etc., and if he really likes the speaker, hooks them up with his clients, either in the form of a dinner party or handout or special promotion. Dr. Prakash is not a typical Chiropractor, happy and settled with his practice. He is always working hard to improve his services, whether it be his technique, extra services he can offer, and his career in general, which directly helps his clients. Talk about first impressions! When I purchased my full wellness consultation and one-hour massage deal from AmazonLocal, I was expecting to be treated like a "GroupOn", hurried along from one service to the next all for the price of $79 (?). Here's what I got: Dr. Ankur Prakash warmly greeting me at 8 a.m., offering tea and a very quick tour. He even offered a slice of pepper meant for his own snack while he explained the basics of chiropractics. Next, I got to enjoy music from the Amy Winehouse library, my choice, while a computer analyzed my hand for a number of things, including stress. Another machine measured how much weight I place on one foot versus the other. A rendering on the screen showed how a 10% difference in weight distribution could throw off my skeleton. My massage was perfect! The therapist took cues from Dr. Prakash who noticed that one of my legs was longer than the other -- I could feel it -- because of misalignment and tightness in my hips. The therapist took this into account as well as the fact that I was running in a race the next morning. Rather than a rough sports massage, which I normally like, she recommended a nice feel-good one and focused on my outer legs. It was a good choice. I ran with no pain whatsoever the next day. During my second visit, which was still part of the deal, Dr. Prakash presented my wellness portfolio, complete with foot prints and nutritional deficiencies. I never felt like he was trying to sell me something, but I did feel like he is a good business person. The rates he came up for me were remarkably reasonable, so much so that I have recommended him to friends and personal training clients. I came in for a hip issue, and I wasn't pain-free overnight, but I have been steadily improving through the work at LWB. I've been seeing Dr. Vivian, and she is an extremely intuitive and talented chiropractor. Matos is my regular massage therapist, and he is masterful. After a massage-adjustment combo, I leave feeling fantastic. These are the two practitioners I see the most, but all of the chiropractors and massage therapists are excellent. They have created a very welcoming, caring environment that cater to all the needs of an individual, while having a family-like atmosphere. BEWARE! They charged me more than I agreed to as well as taking a month to send me an itemized bill to submit to my insurance that didn't even add up to the insane amount that they charged me. They also did neck manipulations without explaining the risks involved and they tried to convince my husband they he needed treatment, despite the fact that he had no back pain or issues. I cannot speak highly enough about Dr Prakash and Dr Janet, and the whole team. I have been a client for about 10 years, at first it was just me and my then 18 month old son, now the whole family goes, my husband and 3 children. We feel so well taken care of. We get adjusted weekly as maintenance, but most importantly if anyone seems to be getting sick, this is the first appointment we make. As a potential new client I called Well Balanced Chiropractic to find out if they accepted my insurance? I was told that I would need to come in for a consultation and then they would check on my insurance. Obviously I would never make an appointment somewhere if I didn't know if they accepted my insurance or not. So I asked a second time could they confirm if they excepted Blue Cross? This is one of the best places for self growth I have ever been to. The staff is loving , attentive and are great at paying attention to detail. I have been going to this place for 2 months and I can honestly say its one of the best self investments i HAVE ever made. First of all they have the best Personal trainers in the world ( in my opinion ). Taylor is one of the personal trainers there and she is amazing. She pushed me so much and broke my comfort zone. She is a tough trainer but absolutely loving person. It like going to war but she will push you and encourage you to push through. She is amazing! There are other personal trainers there but she is a diamond in the amazon. Dan , Jen , Crystal , Leila , Jeff ( hope Im not missing anyone) are all amazing Message therapist. They treat you like family and really amazing at finding the blind spots on your body. I used to have so much pain in my body but now I feel so much body. These guys are amazing. This place is amazing. This will be a very long review. The short version is that if you are looking for any combination of message, personal training, and chiropractic (or any of those services a la cart) don't go anywhere else. This is a very special place run by a very special group of people - you won't find anywhere else like it. If all you want is personal training, they recently began offering unlimited training with a trainer for a bit more of the cost of an Equinox membership - for someone like me who needs that motivation and attention, and doesn't want to spend 1,000 a month on 3x a week personal training at Equinox, it's a no brainier. All other services are also reasonably priced and in some cases covered by insurance. That's the short version, what follows is the long version. I first went to well balanced about 3 years ago. I have had chronic back pain for years, and it was becoming limiting. I was having trouble biking, and generally just felt lower back pain most the time while at work or around the apartment. I was in pretty good shape and young (30 at the time) - my dad had horrible back pain and gets shots once a month for it - he's sixty and is slumped over like an old man. I didn't want to be that. I went initially for chiropractic. I had never tried it before and was modestly skeptical, but was willing to try anything. The chiropractic was and still is solid, but it's the way in which all the staff in all areas work together that is amazing. I began going once a week for message, personal training, and chiropractic. All three elements worked together - the training staff (all Former Equinox trainers at well below Equinox prices) noticed I had weak muscles supporting my back and created a routine to strengthen my core and leg muscles so I didn't rely as much on using my back. I then go for message, where they work on muscles sore from training and helped undo years of stress and strain on my muscles. Chiropractic did something similar to message except for the bones - my hips would always get out of alignment and dr Prakash, who is the most competent and friendly doctor you will ever meet, helped get troublesome spots in my back out of alignment. All sides would talk to each other about me and refine workouts and message to fit the needs of my body. I noticed the difference right away - my back pain became less frequent within a month. Sitting in chairs, which would cause me Lower back pain previously after about an hour, doesn't happen anymore. As an office worker who typically pulls long hours, this has been a godsend. Boughts of throwing out my back, which occurred almost monthly, increasing became more sporadic. I haven't done that now for two years and have been largely pain free for over a year. The team there - who I can't say enough good things about (becca and Stacey in pt, Metos, Diana, and Scott in message) are just phenomenal. In addition to back pain being gone, I'm just generally in the best shape of my life, both aesthetically and physically. The practice itself is a great place - the other members are really interesting people and the general atmosphere feels very much like a family. Many people have been going there for years. When I first came, I thought I'd come a few times until my back felt better and then go on my way. 3 years later I am coming more frequently than I ever have. I have been a patient of Well Balanced Chiropractic for over a year and a half. I have been so pleased with the personalized care I have received from the entire staff. Everyone is so friendly and very helpful. As a busy New Yorker and a ballet dancer, I'm very hard on my body and don't always have time to take the best care of myself. Dr. Prakash makes an effort to encourage a healthy lifestyle while not lecturing. He is not a chiropractor who will just adjust you and send you out the door.
