They are available to answer questions, but unlike other stores, I didn't feel like I had a sales person glued to me trying to sell me something (it was so refreshing!) Second, Jessie was fantastic communicating with us about the project from start to finish. Everything was delivered and installed on time. She was very responsive when we had questions. I recently took home 4 samples, yes they allow that, and encourage it as well; you want to get a good idea of how the floor will look in your own space. Chalk it up to the multiple choices, finishes or manufactures, I just brought home 3 more to sample. My indecision however is being guided by a very familiar staff who know there flooring. DO NOT recommend this place for many reasons. The Snap Crackle Pop video youtu.be/9Zl4Na4wSuA  shows the results of their installation of Shaw flooring. These 'pops' do not happen in isolated areas - they are all over every single room in the 1400 sq foot of our upper level.   1 - Rugworks did NOT share recommended manufacturer installation instructions with us. We purchased the wood from them, they delivered it, unpackaged it and did not share 'manufacturer recommended installation instructions'. 2 - They do not appear to be a NWFA installer. The NWFA also recommends glue assist for wide planks of over 5" as shown in this video youtu.be/WDsMY_sXfjc    The wood that we purchased from Rugworks is well over 5" wide and glue-assist is recommended to prevent the issue that we have in the entire 2nd floor of our home. 3- ZERO post-install customer service, owner would not come to see the issue in person or propose a solution to the problem. 1 - INSTALLATION recommendation - not sharing recommended installation instructions. Rugworks installed an engineered wood floor in July 2020 which should have been glued down in addition to being nailed down due to its width. This was a 'recommendation' of the manufacturer which was NEVER presented as an option by Rugworks. If Rugworks had told us about the 'recommendation' which is also the preferred method recommended by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) - we would have chosen that installation method. The installation instructions are "For products greater than 5" in width, it is recommended to use a combination glue down assist when using mechanical fasteners" to prevent the wood from moving and causing the problem shown in the video. The wood is 7/16" thick engineered hardwood - SW485 Castlewood Oak - 7.48 inch wide planks - way beyond the 5 inches. Post installation - We noticed that there was a lot of snap/crackle/pop - see video here youtu.be/9Zl4Na4wSuA  We contacted Rugworks - they assured us that this would subside over 12-18 months. This did not change. We contacted them 12 months later and still have no resolution to this issue. 2 - NWFA certification - Certified installers will share the industry recommended and manufacturer recommended installation instructions. Choose a NWFA installer that reads the install instructions, and will act as a trusted advisor in sharing those with you to ensure that your installation is done to your satisfaction and does not Snap Crackle and Pop with every step. As the seller of the hardwood, and installer - Rugworks should have presented all installation options and did not present the recommended method. 3 -  Follow-up customer service and ownership.  I contacted their owner Jon Sevenau regarding this issue and invited him to witness the defective installation in person; and he would not come over to see it. He denied that there was any problem with the installation and offered ZERO assistance with any remediation. He mentioned that he was contacting the manufacturer - Shaw Industries - but there was no follow-up on this topic. We had a NWFA inspection and Rugworks had one also - both showed that the flooring issues were because the floor is moving, which it wouldn't be doing if glue assist had been used as recommended by the manufacturer. I own a 50 year old house and a rental. Rugworks installed laminate flooring in both houses. With one exception I was very happy. NOT NOW. The first floor they installed was my living room, dining room, and hall. This was in late 2015. in approx. 2019 I noticed warping of the planks in the back of my house. I let it go. Then the warping really took off to where every plank in the kitchen, livingroom and hallway was warped. I paid Rugworks approx. $6500 for this floor. I went to them because they were highly recommended. I was not looking for the best deal I was looking for a sturdy floor. Rugworks offered me $1500 in materials and I would have to pay for installation AGAIN, approximately $4500. The $1500 was in the form of a credit from the manufacturers so Rugworks wasn't out any money however I get to pay $9000 for installation. Rugworks would not budge. They told me there was a 2 year manufacturers warranty and I waited too long. After much back and forth and with no willingness to compromise I sued in small claims. In small claims Jeff told me that any warranty was on the flooring webcite and Rugworks did not have to provide it. I was NOT told of any warranty or I certainly would have acted sooner. The contractor who replaced this floor said I should have been given the warranty and not just told to go to the webcite. I sued and won in Small Claims. This was in March 2022. Rugworks never paid and I filed a lien on the real property of the business and owner. After waiting about 5 months with no payment I started calling Jon Sevenau. He could give lessons on what NOT TO DO with unhappy customers. He kept threatening me with attorneys. I would gladly have talked to them so they could explain to him how this works. I finally got paid my $6500 but there were still costs after judgement I was entitled to: interest, recording fees, notary fees, etc. totalling about $350. I could have filed paperwork in the court but instead sent Jon a letter. Jon's response was an irate call to me up with the following:1) he has filed a lien against me. How? He doesn't have a judgment 2)his attorney was going to have law enforcement come after me. All of the Sonoma County law officers were going to drop their murders, rapes, etc. to come after me. So far, nothing. 3)he was filing a restraining order against me. Why would I care? I never want to see them again, but OK. 4)He finally said "It's on". Now, he was on speakerphone and my friend/hairdresser listened in with me. I am a 72 year old woman. This sounds like elder abuse. If he calls back, I will be reporting him. So far I haven't received the $350. read more

So we had a house fire and hired a contractor to rebuild the house. We had hardwood floors throughout the house. When rebuilding they offered a different flooring to save money. They sent us to Rugworks to pick it out. We were told is was a nice option when we picked it out. Fast forward to now just over a year after install. The floor is pealing up along the seems in a few places under the kitchen table. I contacted the contractor and was told I needed to contact Rugworks about it to get it fixed. I called Rugworks and they came by looked at it for five minutes and left. They then called me two days later just to tell me "they will fix it but I would have to pay them to do it that it's damaged because it's in a heavy traffic area". It's under the dinning room table the only traffic it gets is an occasional chair sliding in and out. They also said "the chairs need to have felt on the bottom of the legs". We had problem with a previous installation of some laminate flooring done by another contractor. It was a small but necessary fix and I do not know how many flooring companies would be willing to do it. I have used Rugworks for 2nd time now and couldn't be more satisfied with their work and customer service. Both times I have used them was due to my crazy pup chewing threw the carpet, and they were able fix the carpet both times, making it look good as new! They are vey accommodating. Both times I called them, they were able to check out my carpet that very same day to evaluate the damage. They were even able to work with my crazy work schedule when it came time to repair the carpet. 2 days after the evaluation they came to my house (during my 1 hour lunch break) and fixed the giant hole in my carpet in 30 mins. Hindsight is 20/20, we should have gone with the Floor Store. We've used Rugworks 5 times now and my biggest complaint was they have ZERO appreciation for repeat customers. On our previous job they did a Pergo floor and had to come out to fix it because it shifted. Afterwards I was told they will not come out again because floating floors shift and they will not fix it each time, it has shifted and we just have to deal with that look, gold pad shines though. That should have caused me to never use them again, but Rich is easy going and stopped by there after we got quotes from competitors for our new job. Our job today we actually had chose the Floor Store, but Rich stopped by Rugworks and they were willing to do the job for less, same carpet. I said okay we're saving money! That should have been a red flag. Afterward they changed the carpet to a different color, slightly darker and again, went to look at is and said okay we're saving money. Then today when the job was being done Rich called and they quoted $5/linear foot to install the baseboard, Rich called back to get clarification on the total cost and was told $180, if it's more, that's okay, they'd eat that cost. That seemed high, but we said okay, one less thing for me to do. After the job was done, John called and raised that cost to the equivalent of $150/hr. per worker. It took 45 minutes for two workers and John said it is $300! That was labor only, they installed our baseboard. After Rich, who is as even tempered as anyone can be, go very upset with John on the phone. John got defensive, finally reducing the charge to $250 for a job we were verbally quoted at $180. NEVER, EVER USE Rugworks, they do not care about customers, after job customer satisfaction and they may ultimately rip you off. If they say they will give you a "better deal" don't believe them, be skeptical, walk away! I give 1 star because the actual installers were great, these stars are for them only not for Rugworks. I hope those two guys got paid well knowing Rugworks charged $150/hr for their labor. We did tip them well. read more

Sadly, my review is not regarding a product or the completion of a job--my experience never got that far, which is disappointing. When I was 7 months pregnant, my husband and I decided we wanted to replace the carpet in our home in preparation for our little munchkin's arrival. A close friend of ours had a good experience and was happy with her carpet and the job done. We wanted a similar amount and similar type of carpet and we live locally, so we thought it should be pretty easy. Also, whenever possible, we prefer to give our money to a local business instead of a big box store. I went into Rug Works three separate times to look at in-store samples, request color samples, ask questions, and get the ball rolling. The first time I went in, I spoke with someone about our budget, our needs, mentioned our friend and her carpet, etc. and I was given a business card and was told someone would contact me, which did not happen. The second visit, which wasn't long after the first visit, I spoke with the same guy and he had no idea who I was, but he said he remembered my friend. How does one forget a very pregnant woman?! I requested a couple samples that weren't available and was told I'd receive a call when they were. I never received a call, so I returned again to inquire about the samples and was told someone would call me. I finally received a call and was told my budget wouldn't work. Fantastic. Our friend's budget was less than ours and they worked with her. Apparently, working with a prego lady for $2,000 isn't worth it, but working with a hot, non-prego lady for less than $2,000 is worth it. Needless to say, we were very frustrated and just wanted the job done so we went with Costco and we couldn't be more pleased with the product and service, not to mention the spending return we'll get! read more

Once again, Rugworks to the rescue! I posted back in Oct 2017 when Rugworks installers braved the Firestorm and kept on schedule with the instal... My daughter's family just moved into their new home here in Sonoma County from S Ca last week they had planned to get carpet from a big box store to take advantage of the 0% financing. Of course that didn't work out when they were not alerted to the fact that their carpet choice was not in stock. Second choice carpet would put the job out 2-3 weeks after their move in date.
