There's so much to see, so bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfy shoes since the ground can be uneven. You'll encounter steps, slopes, and some dirt paths. The parking lot is small and fills up fast, so I like to get there early, especially if I'm doing a big plant haul. It can be tricky loading plants when you're parked far away. What doesn't this place have? There's an onsite bar and grill that's dog‑friendly, has live music, and serves brunch on weekends. There's also a cute boutique flower/gift shop with curated items perfect for any plant lover. They offer free local classes to help educate the community -- I've taken the shrub class, but they have tons of gardening‑related workshops. They have chickens, birds, turtles, and more. They care for and rescue animals, which is amazing. They sell compost, and they have every plant you can imagine, plus a large selection of seeds, pots, tools, beekeeping supplies, and canning equipment. I love that this is a neighborhood, locally owned nursery that truly gives back. They do so much to educate the community and promote sustainability. We probably shop here 3-5 times/year and love pointing out changes to the grounds during our visits, it's like a new surprise every trip. I'd spend birthdays here too if I could, but they close every year between Christmas and New Years (rightfully so, they give so much to this community and deserve some rest!). Cons: There is no visible sign/name of the business The "shop" hours are not displayed anywhere Odd hours/not normal business hours Pro: I did find the white sage I was looking for and they informed me it was indeed available. The plant was in really good shape compared to other nurseries around town. I suppose I'm worried for this shop. You simply can't expect to thrive as a local "garden center" when locals can't shop during regular business hours. I'm sure there's a reasoning for it all. Cuffel Farms is definitely one of the things I miss most in SD! The variety of airplants Andy has is amazing and the prices are so reasonable! He is also so friendly and patient in answering all airplant care questions! Getting to shop for each flower makes buying flowers such an intentional experience. The staff is always sweet and kind and hot to help. The cost of the flowers is on the higher end, but you pay for what you get. Unique flowers. Grown locally (or mostly locally). I love coming into the shop, it's an instant mood lift.
