This restaurant has the "trendy" and "vibey" reputation but falls short on the whole package. The decor is meant to appear elevated and in some areas they nail it, but most of the dining room is just black and white stock photos, and plastic turf panels where you can see the white wall behind it. They serve cold bread when you're seated and drinks took forever with an almost completely empty restaurant. My pasta tasted fine but there was much more sauce than pasta. I appreciate that they have mocktails listed on the main menu, the cocktails are pretty good, and the cucumber feta appetizer is great. recently visited LM Social to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We were able to walk right in with no wait during what should have been a busy downtown dining hour--which, in hindsight, made sense because the restaurant was completely empty. Our waiter was very kind and friendly, which was one of the few positives. However, the restaurant itself was extremely hot, to the point of being uncomfortable. It didn't seem like there was adequate A/C, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. After placing our order, it took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive. I ordered the chicken riggies, and it came out cold and undercooked, which was very disappointing. Throughout the meal, the waiter would disappear for long periods and didn't check in to see if we needed anything. He did offer to bring out a complimentary dessert, which we appreciated--but unfortunately, it never came. Overall, for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The food was fine however they "accidentally" charged a dish twice and when I come to pay for the bill, their square unit only shows a total. I was in a bit of a rush to pay so I didn't do a math check. However, I feel the total seems off so I redo the math upon reaching home and realized they already added gratuity and I tipped on top. I definitely will not come back again. Dishonesty won't carry you far when you are in a servicing business. The double charge and didn't mention the inclusion of gratuity are disappointing. The food is a reflection on the chef therefore I am giving it 2 stars to at least address the fact that the food is fine. read more

I had the pool boy mocktail but added vodka & it was delicious. Cucumber appetizer was refreshing & a good palate cleanser. Had the steak & sweet potato side was divine. Steak cooked perfectly. We ordered the lobster app and calamari both of which were just ok. My scallop entree was delicious and a great serving size. There's a lot of potential here, They just have to get it right and be consistent. We dined at Le Melange last Valentines Day at their previous, smaller location and it was a perfect experience- food, vibe and service. With their new expanded location and rebranding to LM Social it seems that they have a few kinks to work out. We arrived slightly early for our reservation and were graciously greeted with a smile and a "Happy Valentine's Day" from the hostesses. Despite being early they seated us right away. We were tucked away in a booth that gave us a view of the front of the restaurant. The decor is eclectic yet subtle, the vibe intimate and slightly edgy. Perfect for a girls night out or a date night with your special someone. Our table was about 2 steps from a small couch for people waiting to be seated. It's a tad awkward as it's kind of IN the dining area. Lol When seated on the couch they are positioned to stare right at a table for two. They were also close enough to our table that we could have easily had a conversation with them. I personally didn't have a problem with it. Somehow it all just blends in with the decor and isn't a big deal. This was Valentine's Day and a Friday night. They had a steady stream of diners coming in. In addition to the decor there was live music that was intermixed with Frank Sinatra & Nat King Cole from the speakers. A very nice touch. Now to the food. I ordered scallops with sweet potato purée and sautéed green beans. My husband ordered cod with risotto We also ordered drinks. Our server was friendly and attentive. 3 small slices of stretch bread were provided with a hot dipping oil that was very good. Our wait time for dinner was easily 30 minutes or more. Our waitress did check on us and apologized for the delay. In the interim a nearby table got their appetizer which was a skewer of shrimp standing upright with a lemon at the base that was lit on fire. The presentation was meant to be more than it actually achieved. As the diner went to move the plate, the entire tower toppled over, still on fire and he struggled to keep it from falling on the floor and also not catching himself on fire. The shrimp and lemon that fell on the floor stayed there through their entire meal. Meanwhile our meal arrived and was plated beautifully. The scallops were large and delicious though they could have been cooked another minute or so. The sea bass was also delicious as were the sides of risotto and sweet potato purée. The table seated behind us were sat well before us but hadn't received their meal. They had to have waited at least 45 minutes. A staff member came out to tell them there had been an issue with their ticket, apologized for the delay but said their meal would be out shortly. Five minutes later they were served a meal that wasn't theirs and had to send it back. The manager corrected the error. They received their correct order a short while later and the manager comped the meal for them. Unfortunately the overall experience wasn't anything special and in the end it felt like an over priced meal. Our bill was $122 without tip. I think they fell short but not for lack of trying. Because we've eaten her previously I would definitely give it another try. They just need to get their sea legs in this larger space. read more

LM Social / Le Melange is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Syracuse. The drinks are fun and tasty, the service is swift and the servers are friendly, and the food is always to die for. The prices can be a bit on the high side, but I would say that it's well worth it. All that being said, it seems like they're having a bit of an identity crisis. Every time I visit, they have changed their decor, their menu, their name, or some combination of the three. I hope they find their footing, because it's getting confusing honestly. I visited LM social before attending a play downtown. The location is great and the atmosphere inside is nice as well. The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived. When we were seated, our server asked if we were going to the play, which we said we were. We ordered drinks, which were good. However, some drinks on the menu said they would be smoked tableside and they were not. I had a tequila cocktail which I enjoyed . Unfortunately I don't remember the name, and the cocktail menu online is not up to date. We also got the burrata appetizer, which was good. Unfortunately, our entrees were not ready by the time we needed to leave for the play. After a long wait, our waitress assured us they would be right out, so we figured we would have a few bites and take the rest to go. When more time passed, we asked to get the check and have our food brought out in takeout containers. The waitress said the kitchen was plating our food. We got our checks, gave our cards to the waitress, and received them back to sign and still did not get our food. This was very frustrating, as she was aware that we needed to leave for the play. We did not receive any apology from the waitress. We ended up going to the host stand and asking to have our entrees refunded. We couldn't justify paying for $35 entrees we never received. The employees at the host stand were accommodating and apologized, but we were disappointed to leave hungry. While the food and drinks I had the opportunity to try were good, I would not recommend LM social before a play or event. If I do visit again, I hope I can update this review with a better experience. read more

I really don't like to leave bad reviews, however I am incredibly disappointed over the professionalism of our server and the establishment, as well as the quality of the meal. First off, I believe our server took advantage of my one friend who asked if they had Pinot Noir, however the server failed to communicate that there were 2 options of Pinot Noir, a $14 dollar glass or a $20 glass. She never mentioned or asked about that, and went ahead and charged her for the more expensive wine, since our group was large, our assumption is that her intention was to add to her auto gratuity. She also offered a free dessert in exchange for us to leave her a 5 star review, which seemed a bit like a business scheme to falsify their ratings. Besides our server, my overall impression of the restaurant is aesthetic over quality. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the interior is trendy and stylish, but I would personally rather enjoy a good meal in a standard looking restaurant rather than a mediocre/ bad meal in a beautiful restaurant. My food (pappardelle) was alright but not worth the price flavor or taste-wise. My friend who ordered the Sea Bass wound up with diarrhea. And the crème brûlée was neither the correct temperature nor texture. This was supposed to be a celebration of our friend's 22nd birthday, and I just can't see myself wanting to come back after this experience. We have been to LM Social on several occasions but only for the Happy Hour at the Bar. We have always had a pleasant experience. We decided to try the dining room for Restaurant week and wish we wouldn't have gone. There wasn't a single positive to our visit other than the ambiance. Our first two courses were not even warm. The Short rib and polenta was ice cold and the polenta cake was as hard as hockey puck. We sent two of those back and received our 1st course after we had received our main. The Steak Frittes were ok but the steak was very tough and it was not even close to warm. Our server was very inattentive and it wasn't busy at all at least from what we could see. Went to LM social last Friday night with five friends. The vibe is very cool and romantic but soooo dark. Thankfully we were by a fireplace or I don't know if I would have seen anything. We got a bottle of wine and some apps. Wine was good and the shrimp they light on fire right at the table that is cool. I got the cacio alla Roman with salmon. The salmon was good but came out way after the pasta which was kind of weird as it was supposed to be on top. The pasta was also good but some of the peppercorns were not ground well and every once in a while you would bite into like a whole one and yikes. Everyone else said their meal was amazing. Wish I got more pics but again super dark. I did get a pic of my husband's Tuscan Beef Bourguingnon which he said was amazing. The waiter was very attentive and our water was always full but I will say one other thing there are a lot of doors and confusing to get in and out of. Went for dinner with a group of 8. They had decorated for the holidays which was cute. Our waitress was very friendly but we ended up waiting for about an hour for our food. With a larger party I am pretty understanding when it comes to taking longer with the food however, we were only asked about drinks at the very beginning and then were not checked on or asked about refills while waiting for our food. I ordered two glasses of Pino Grigio thinking I would be charged the price of the Pino Grigio advertised in their " By the Glass" section. However when the bill came I was charged for a different kind of Pino Grigio that was $4 more per glass. Not a huge deal but worth noting to clarify with your waiter. A great addition to the dining circuit in Syracuse. Have to be honest, I didn't know the type of cuisine before walking in there. Impromptu date night with the wifey and we left very satisfied. Well I ordered the Basil Hayden Bourbon cocktail and the bartender, having run out of Basil Hayden, decided to improvise and used another Rye based bourbon. Not a value and there is more. The last time we ate at this location, it was fine dining at Lemongrass. Apparently the previous owner removed everything from the interior form floor to celling and window to wall. Even with extraordinary poor lighting one would gather that any 2nd hand furniture or gaudy high backed benches would suffice, and even those were blocking the interesting views of the artsy Armory Square neighborhood. It was very reminiscent of a University rathskeller. I'll start with nice. Our waitress was delightful and attentive. We ordered an appetizer which was whipped feta and a stretch bread. Before that arrived we had a tray of the same bread, which apparently came out of the refrigerator or was otherwise below room temperature. It was accompanied with a small dipping dish of some oil and hot sauce mixture. The feta was a mound larger than a fist, hardly whipped as it had a very irregular texture. All together 1 on 1-10 scale. Next was the onion soup, which was quite good, a unanimous vote of the two of us that had it, with the usual melted crusty gruyere cheese and was hearty and thick with onions. Another guest in our party of four had a brussel salad which she liked and another guest had a wedge salad which was with 2 small wedges, unadorned with anything but the ranch dressing was very good. The two guests that had the onion soup ordered the chicken francaise (or as another review typed chicken franchise) over risotto. It had a good lemony tart sauce but the risotto was white rice with little or no cheese, so kind of loose and not so flavorful. My wife had the salmon medium rare over the same risotto. She said the salmon was good. Our other guest had the scallops and she said it was OK. One of us ordered the mango sorbet and it came on a stemmed glass with a floral shaped disc of sorbet with a ring of cut strawberries. It was frozen solid, we (including the waitress) could not sink a spoon through it. Apparently it was plated at another time then truly frozen. We sent it back. After 10 minutes it still could not be scooped into a spoon. No charge for that. The waitress brought the bill and advised us that there is a service charge if we choose to use a credit card. The service charge was 4.75%. There was no cash price listed and the service charge was added to the total and 8% Onondaga county tax was on the total with the service charge. A quick AI search said the service charge cannot exceed 4% and a cash price must be printed as well. Well this was the straw that made me write a review as were my 3 dinner companions who urged me to do so. There has not been a review since December 2024 and review of other social media sources revealed a couple unhappy writers that provided services for this restaurant as well. Not a good thing for an establishment that actually uses social in its name. There are a lot of good restaurants in Armory Square, so you should try all of them before going to LM Social. read more

Shared a calamari tower - so soft and buttery & shrimp tower, fun flaming. Shared a bunch of the pastas. The pie's bottom was mushroom which was a sweet touch if you like them. Then, they brought out a free sparkling cheesecake slice for myself and my fiancé, which was so sweet of them. On my second visit, this time with husband, the food and service was just ok. Edible, but nothing special. Service, even tho the space was only partially occupied, seemed to defer to people the servers knew or gravitated to. (I notice another review from the same night: the reviewer raved about the service--how does it happen that some people feel ignored and others are having a great experience?) We never got bread, and the server seemed excited to say how good our food choices were. The shrimp tower was good, but not spicy, unless one wanted to eat the flaming peppers by themselves. No discernible Greek spice or beurre blanc, though there was a sort of tasty but very bland cocktail sauce. The salad arrived on tiny plates without edges--hard to capture the dry lettuce. The pasta pie was a mystery: the pasta was so overcooked that the strands were melted together, kind of like what you would serve to a baby with minimal teeth. The sauces were ok, but bland. The arancini was pretty good, but I didn't really see the point of this composed dish. My husband chose the Aglio y Olio pasta primarily because he has a dairy sensitivity. This can be fabulous with great olive oil, garlic, herbs and great pasta, but this was not that . Both dinners were lukewarm, which probably happened because our dinners were somewhere while we waited a half an hour for them to arrive after we finished the shrimp. This is a cuisine where the sauces matter. To be the kind of restaurant LM Social aspires to be, the food needs to be special, not bland, overcooked or mushy. The service needs to be consistent from table to table. I really want to like this place.... as we left i noticed several dishes that looked piping hot and very appetizing. Maybe this is hit or miss. The atmosphere and seating was comfortable. The dinner rush was intense tonight, with a reservation we still had to wait about 30 minutes to be sat. Which is definitely unfortunate but it happens. We got a drink while we waited and two appetizers (that are not pictured.) we got calamari (very delicious and I love that they give a half lemon and not a small slice. Personally I like a lot of lemon) and the cucumber crunch. Both appetizers are my favorites I frequently get when I come here. For the entrees, everything tasted lovey and hot. My half rack of lamb had a bit of a hiccup. I understand the chefs choice of cooking it to medium rare. However it could have been cooked for literally a minute longer :) the lovely waitress we had, Venessa, was very understanding and kind. She advocated for me when I said the lamb was still great and I didn't want to send it back or anything. However when then the owner came around, very rudely explained the lamb is cooked to medium rare and told us that the temperature of the lamb "isn't for everyone." So I don't want undivided attention, but I would like service that at least provides you with silverware not only when you order your food, but it should be given before the food arrives. Then separating the food on the check was a big ordeal because this bartender was either on Adderall with some type of pills or something because they did not understand missing all the other steps of service. So they rang up the wrong credit card for the wrong charges that it like it was no big deal, there's not very representative of the business the employee you want someone that knows the menu that understands the drinks that engages the customer with good service when they're paying these type of prices. read more

Had dinner here on a Sunday night. The place was packed so I was hopeful. If you like eating in the dark this is the place to be. It was like eating in a cave with a tiny candle. We started with the drinks. The drinks were really good. The girls had espresso martinis and I had an old fashioned. We were going to a show so we skipped starters and order entrees. I ordered the Tuscan Beef Bourguignon. This came with couscous which had zero flavor and bone marrow. The short rib was in a bowl with a quarter of one carrot. Very bland to say the least. My wife got a lemon chicken pasta dish. I tried that and it was very good. This place is a bit pricey for Syracuse but what food isn't nowadays. Our server was excellent. read more
