Went here on a late sunday after noon, glad to see it wasn't packed so me and my family got seated right away! The guy in charge of seating seemed pretty friendly. Cool and professional vibe. I ordered some chilaquiles with green salsa and steak. They were pretty good! Tasty honestly. Family ordered some sautéed steak with onions and bell peppers I believe and potatoes. To my surprise, steak was pretty good! Tender and tasty. The regular breakfast with bacon and ham was also good. All the breakfast platters we ordered were definitely good! Now the pancakes on the other hand, probably were the worst pancakes I have ever eaten. They're thick as heck and way too buttery or more like oily I don't know. Pancakes were bad we didn't eat them. One of my favorite places in Lawndale, especially for breakfast. Great food - huge selection of classics plus lots of Mexican options. Our table today had guacamole toast with an egg, lemon crepes, a fabulous veggie omelet, a spinach omelet with hollandaise and a kid's french toast breakfast. All perfect! It had been a while that I visited lawndale. However, my dear cousin Henry said, "you must get breakfast at a local restaurant", the Loaded Cafe. Well, this is my experience. Arrived about 8:15 am and was greeted by one of the servers and I was surprised at the variety of breakfast dishes as well as other Mexican dishes. Decided to order the chilaquiles special, these folks have daily specials which is great. If you eat by yourself or you come with your entire family this is the place to enjoy great food. The red sauce Chilaquiles came with a light spicy red sauce and the tortilla chips were crunchy ,the fried beans were delicious. Very happy with the overall experience. This family own restaurant is definitely a place to visit and enjoy their food. As time passes more patrons arrived and the design of the restaurant makes you feel at ease and comfortable. Wish I could give this place 0 stars! DO NOT COME HERE. The way they advertise their birria tacos and birria plate I'd think they've got it together. Sunday morning just ordered the birria plate and the birria tacos (and a pambazo which didn't actually look as bad as the birria did) And it was nothing but fat. No meat. Just fat. I posted a video. Order was to go, I actually went and took back the order to Loaded Cafe for them to see what they're trying to feed us. Girl in the front said manager left early because he didn't feel good but she was going to take it up with management. I hope she does. This pissed me off so much, like how dare you try to serve this for $23 !!!! This is not the first time I come here, we've tried the pancakes, crepes, tortas and it all had been great except one time I had their menudo and it made me sick. That was over a year ago and I hadn't come back since until today. I understand the damage it does to a business when we post negative reviews. But I am choosing where I spend my money, and if I'm choosing to spend $23 on a birria plate, I expect better food and customer service. I wouldn't want anyone else to buy birria from here only to find nothing but fat in their food. It's so disappointing. Wasted time and money. Time and energy being the most important.
