After musing the menu, two starters and a salad, caesar and the special, an expensive protein....I ordered a caesar salad and the pasta with a grass fed high end ground beef meatball with a lite marinara sauce. The caesar had two filets of white anchovy. The salad was basically a third of a trimmed Romaine stalk with caesar dressing and shaved parmesan with the anchovy. It was my job to cut the lettuce into bite size pieces and blend in the dressing, based on the price I thought the work was done. Then the hyped pasta special arrived, the meatball was nearly the size of a tennis ball. Wow, Okay, Rigatoni graced the edges. I had to cut the meatball into bite size pieces...what's with this having to cut everything meal tonight...I was not impressed! Well the prized beef ball was tasteless, in fact it was a tho a kid made a large hamburger ball and baked it for an hour in the oven Tough, not juicy, no flavor, note to self - no more specials at the range. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. Delicious it was a Fresh berries cobbler without the cobble, friggin delicious....and that's how I left the range tonight. I believe they were allowed to rest for too long after being cooked. I ate some of my filet but it was nothing special. One in our party quietly mentioned this to the waitstaff but I do not know what, if any, compensation was given. Ours was certainly a $1,000 table and while most everything was delicious, the steaks were disappointing.

Then there's the creamy whipped butter... so good that I immediately wanted more. Our server, Nevea, has been outstanding--polite, attentive, and genuinely warm. While the host (a young Asian gentleman) was somewhat unwelcoming and unfortunately ignored me when I tried to get his attention for more butter, Nevea completely made up for that moment by promptly bringing us plenty more with a great attitude. Now, the highlight of the evening: the prime rib. Hands down, the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, rich with flavor, and honestly better than the world-famous Lawry's. I gave them a call and was surprised they were open on a Holiday. We made our way out to Creston and entered . We're greeted within a minute and seated. The host stated the server would be right with you. About 10-15 minutes later our server came and introduced herself and took our drink orders. We received our drinks within 5 minutes. Another 15 or so minutes our waitress came and took our order. Our food took about 20-25 minutes later. I ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich. The daily special. Perfect. My girlfriend ordered a burger with veggie patty. She stated hers was good. The waitress did check in with us during the meal. We finished and took a bit of time before the waitress came back to see if we were finished or needed anything else. Overall the food was very good. I felt the service was kinda slow. We were the only people in the restaurant and there maybe 3 couples outside. The waitress seemed to focus on the outside people first. I'm sorry to give only 2 stars, as our food was very good, but at least 20% of the staff were not wearing masks. Our waitress Hayley (or Hailey?) wore a mask and gave us very good service, but we were told that it is "discretionary" for staff to wear masks. No it isn't, it's a requirement. We were told that the lady serving behind the bar "has a headache". Masks don't cause headaches, neither do they impede breathing. Medical providers wear them for hours at a time without any ill effects, as we all know. Some staff coming in and out of the kitchen, and some of the serving staff were not wearing masks. I was embarrassed to have taken my friends to a restaurant where some of the staff showed so little respect and consideration for the health of their customers. I have always loved The Loading Chute, but this is a public health issue of great importance that should be addressed. read more

Little known fact: 7 days a week from 2 pm to 5 pm, ALL of Loading Chute's Appetizers are only $5. INCLUDING the calamari/shrimp platter. We live in Morro Bay and have had calamari at several places on the waterfront including the high dollar ones...and NOBODY'S squid beats Loading Chute. You get a huge platter of fabulously tender calamari strips (not tentacles and tubes) and giant butterflied shrimp lightly breaded in a delicious cornmeal batter....a full belly of delicious seafood for $5. But save room for the Grasshopper Pie...it's huge! The wait-staff is friendly and every time we have Happy Hour out there our waitress remembers exactly what we ordered last time right down to the extra tartar sauce and lemon. Take a break...go out to the country...relax outside on the patio...get out of the fog. read more

We are locals from Paso Robles and DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE for dinner EVER! If it aint broke, dont fix it, is our motto! I ALWAYS order the bacon wrapped Filet Mignon with the peppercorn sauce, it NEVER fails me, Cesar salad, baked potato with sour cream/chives and a side of Creamy Horseradish sauce for the potato, just to give it a little kick! . The beef at the Loading Chute is unlike anywhere else. Anytime we go out of the area and eat, my husband and I compare it to the Loading Chute EVERYTIME! Hubby will usually order Seafood Fetticini, or the Herb Stuffed Chicken. The servers, Sammi, Amy, and Casey and Jan are all AWESOME! It is a BIG TREAT for us to go everytime. Caden ate 9 wanted salmon so he had an adult meal and loved it. Connor age 5 had the sliders kids meal with 2 good sized burgers. Hannah also had the salmon and Hunter had a cheeseburger. We've had such better experiences lately that I can't wait up go back. In the 99 degree heat the AC was not keeping up and we were too hot but this would be very expensive to upgrade it. Sadly I'm thinking it was not sized properly as the building is very new. But we will not let this stop us from coming. The atmosphere and the food are worth it.

The current place has a kind of "cowboy" theme. It isn't too in your face, very subtle. We sat down and water and a nice loaf of bread with salted butter were quickly provided. The bread was very good, nice crust, nice and warm, and the salted butter (salt on top of the butter) was very tasty. The waiter offered a bottle of wine which wasn't on the wine list - a Jordan Cabernet (in PASO???? Jordan is a Napa Valley winery - ZOUNDS!) from 2021, so I jumped at the chance for that! My wife and I both ordered their 7 ounce filet, medium rare, she with the Broccolini and myself with the carrots. After dinner, I ordered a chocolate tort, which was very tasty. The important stuff: The steaks were cooked and seasoned properly and were delicious and tender. The sides were delicious. The service was excellent. What's not to like?

The cocktail list was fairly small, but they had one cocktail featuring each of the main liquors. I didn't see them listed on the menu, but they also had a barrel aged negroni and one other in a barrel. I opted for an espresso martini, perfect to keep the night going since we had a dinner reservation a little bit later. After the espresso tini my boyfriend and I shared another cocktail and also got a side of broccolini to snack on, because what says bar snack like broccolini? Would definitely come back here to try out the dinner menu, and of course for drinks again!

Here at Ironhorse, we had drinks, and the gf and I shared a burger & caesar salad (her idea, not mine -- I like the whole enchilada), and partook of a chicken wing app. Whoa. The burger was absolutely delish and one of the best in the greater Paso area. The caesar was HUGE made with little gem lettuce -- we loved it. The wings were perfect, so good. Service was lovely. Food was quick. What more do you want? Well, I want more and more times here.

Where's the beef, right... Onion rings, nothing special your average frozen beer battered Moores onion ring served late but freshly hot. We had a good meal, good service and a fair price. It was all delicious. The tritip was cooked to a nice medium rare, and the cuts were generous. My sister was kind enough to let me snag some of her nachos. They're "trash can" nachos, so they come with a fun little lift of the can grand reveal, cheesy goodness moment. I would probably order one of these for the table on my next visit.. or maybe just one for myself. Lol. Special shout out to our waiter, Marcus. He was kind and attentive. But with half or full rack. But the Take-out meal is dinner for 4 basically with large containers and full rack ribs. So for we think $66, we got large containers of coleslaw, mashed potatoes, a smaller matched container gravy, 4 tiny pieces garlic cheese bread and a full rack of pork baby back ribs. This was totally worth it and I would definitely order it again. They are always frugal with the garlic bread which is very good, but it's never enough. I would prefer it be made with sourdough loaf, but it's soft French bread, however The ribs were good. Coleslaw is perfect! Mashed potatoes taste watery and need some cream cheese mixed into it. Pretty great for a takeout meal.
