    Hunter Ranch Golf Course
    Emily G.

Went for the first time with my husband to the driving range and played the free par 3 holes at Hunter Ranch this weekend. I'm new to golf but my overall impression of the course was positive. I appreciate that they have covered parking which will be needed during the hot summer days in Paso. My husband was slightly disappointed with the quality of the grass down at the driving range. I however as a newbie thought everything was great

Excellent breakfast with a view ! Great service and prices too ! Cannot wait to return next time in the area !

Chilaquiles are delicious! They're not on the main menu, but on the little specials menu on the table. Side of bacon for $6 had 5 pieces, good deal. Pleasant view of the golf course, friendly staff, surprised it wasn't more crowded at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday with perfect weather.

Love it here!! Not quite the greasy bbq spots for lunch, nor the overpriced (under quality) food spots downtown Paso Robles. It's a beautiful location, good hits just right....cool staff (as always..) and we love coming out here! Will recommend, and as always for years, we will come back soon.

    - Gluttony Expedition - Red: This time, unlike usual, didn't blow my mind. It was good but not as good as it used to be. Port/sherry: these are interesting! Those are very underrated, but they do bring very interesting stuff! - Conqueror's Deduction - This is one of my favorite wineries in Paso Robles for years. I get tipsy by tasting though I'm a certified sommelier. I usually spit out when tasting unless it's so tasty. I tend to get tipsy every time here because I swallow it. Reds weren't as excited as it used to be, but I'm glad we had a port tasting! Very good!

We were on our way home from Los Angeles and close to Paso Robles we were trying to find a last minute stop and quick bite to eat. Hunter Ranch did NOT disappoint. We were very surprised to have found this hidden ranch tucked right off the road, with sprawling acres and a golf course. Again, it was a random find for us. We ordered a couple of breakfast burritos, one with bacon, and avocado added, and another with ham. And also a breakfast sandwich with ham. The burritos were perfect! Since we had everything to go, it was packed neatly, the burrito rolled and cut perfect and the flavors on point. The salsa adds a great touch and fruit salad was fresh, sweet and delicious. The sandwich was really neatly prepared and very tasty. The staff inside the restaurant was friendly and super helpful with getting our order going. Without having to ask they added all the necessary utensils and napkins and in a matter of minutes we were ready to get back on the road. Thank you. This will definitely be a future stop for us when we head back to Los Angeles / San Diego.

    Such a beautiful day

Location location location Yes, they offer views of a their golf course which results in high prices. Got it living and going out in the area is going to be expensive. But I dont mind spending a pretty penny if they are bringing their A game. Our server was very attentive but not friendly at all! Wished we the bus boy waited tables because he had an outgoing personality. We ordered the ceviche which lacked flavor. I had to ask for hot sauce which didnt save it. Their chips are pretty damn good though. I ordered the seafood melt...yikes!! If my sando is $17 you can at least give me something bigger than tiny a$$ shrimp!! The Reuben also was lack meat! I totally understand quality vs quantity but damn! I was still hungry after dropping $70 on lunch for two!?!

Finished a round of golf and decided to eat here before meeting up with our wives for the drive back to Fresno. Super nice staff. Food was brought to us in 10 minutes. Both sandwiches were great. Probably the second best club sandwich I have ever had.

Our dog digging in the food, he likes it.

We came to this place because they welcome dogs, they even have menu for dogs! They brought over the water bowl for our dog right after we sitting down, very thoughtful! We had Seafood Melt and Southwestern Salad, and chopped burger for our dog. The presentation of Seafood Melt is pretty! The shrimp were small size, not particular special about it. The crab on the other hand, were really tender and big chunk, tasted like lobster! They were pretty generous on the topping on Southwestern Salad, everything is fresh. The chopped burger seems like more than half of pound, two big patties. We can tell that it tasted delicious because our dog digged right into it. The restaurant is in side of a golf course, so the view is really nice. After lunch, we walked around the area to enjoy the scenery. It's a busy place, better to make a reservation ahead. We heard their Sunday buffet is good, maybe we will come back.

We stopped by to grab a bite before our way back to Fresno. We were thrilled their restaurant had a dog menu. As soon as we arrived, you notice this place is in a golf course. Super clean and pretty golf course. A few feet away from the parking lot, there's Hunter Ranch bar and grill. You literally order the food, pay and then get it. It's more of a self-service place. Staff lacked a sense of hospitality. It almost felt like they were forced to take orders. It almost feels like a snack bar. We ordered burgers and food from the dog menu for our pets. The food was very greasy. I ordered grilled chicken for my dog, and he seemed to have enjoyed it.

I was in town and came here to check out their Sunday brunch. Our server was so sweet and took great care of us while we dined here. There are two options for brunch here. You can do the all you can eat and drink option that includes mimosas. Or you can do the one large plate option but it doesn't include any type of drinks. We went with the large one plate option because I still had to drive back and didn't want to be super full. The options that are available are your typical brunch items. They have a dessert area that I liked.

Hunter Ranch was a great respite from the wineries in Paso Robles. The food was good, and looking out over a golf course was peaceful.

The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!

November 2025 Since…read moreI gave such a stellar review of the Bacon Crusted Burger at Street Side Ale House, I must update the comments since people do go to restaurants based on other's reviews. And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.
