The Golf Course is, I've heard, wonderful and well-maintained (and seperate Yelp posting). But c'mon, the restaurant is just OKAY, and far below my expectations. 1. Limited hours: open morning until 5pm...no dinner? Have you seen Deed's at night? There's a lot of revenue lost here, and they used to have a Sunday brunch, well, no longer. 2. Short order cook: nothing of note or difficulty. Only simple stuff, eggs, salads, sandwiches, burgers (from a frozen patty), and fried things. Four of us made a trip over to Hunter Ranch on Tuesday. Our 90 minute drive was easy Hwy 46 is a pleasure now. 50 degrees overcast no wind when we pulled up at 8:30 The Course along with the surrounding foothills and vineyards were a velvet green with majestic oak trees making for a beautiful sight. Golf carts have GPS and are well maintained. Hunter Ranch is a tough fair challenge the greens are true and hold your good shots. fairways are challenging you'll need a accurate drive on many and will need to lay up on others par 3 holes are excellent as well. The seasoned oaks, many creeks and 2 lakes along with the sticky rough will keep you on your toes and challenge your game. The staff was friendly and helpful very nice pro shop full of quality merchandise. The restaurant and bar is very comfortable plenty of large screens in the high ceilings barn style setting. The food was fantastic large generous portions salads crisp, great service from a professional staff. Had breakfast before our round. Food and service was great! However, when we received our bill we were disappointed to see an EGG Surcharge for every egg ordered. Ok, I get it when eggs prices were out of control for a while there, but now? In October Egg prices were at their lowest in years. If you want to raise the breakfast $2, just do it. My friend and decided to stop here for lunch on our way to Pismo. So glad we did! We shared an order of the coconut shrimp and a Fiesta Steak salad. Shrimp was ok...salad was great! Nicely chopped tritip, black beans, salsa, avocado, romaine and a bit of tortilla chips. The highlight of our lunch was our server Bonnie!! She was awesome! Those are very underrated, but they do bring very interesting stuff! - Conqueror's Deduction - This is one of my favorite wineries in Paso Robles for years. I get tipsy by tasting though I'm a certified sommelier. I usually spit out when tasting unless it's so tasty. I tend to get tipsy every time here because I swallow it. We were on our way home from Los Angeles and close to Paso Robles we were trying to find a last minute stop and quick bite to eat. Hunter Ranch did NOT disappoint. We were very surprised to have found this hidden ranch tucked right off the road, with sprawling acres and a golf course. Again, it was a random find for us. We ordered a couple of breakfast burritos, one with bacon, and avocado added, and another with ham. And also a breakfast sandwich with ham. The burritos were perfect! Since we had everything to go, it was packed neatly, the burrito rolled and cut perfect and the flavors on point. The salsa adds a great touch and fruit salad was fresh, sweet and delicious. The sandwich was really neatly prepared and very tasty. The staff inside the restaurant was friendly and super helpful with getting our order going. Without having to ask they added all the necessary utensils and napkins and in a matter of minutes we were ready to get back on the road. Thank you. This will definitely be a future stop for us when we head back to Los Angeles / San Diego. read more

Location location location Yes, they offer views of a their golf course which results in high prices. Got it living and going out in the area is going to be expensive. But I dont mind spending a pretty penny if they are bringing their A game. Our server was very attentive but not friendly at all! Wished we the bus boy waited tables because he had an outgoing personality. We ordered the ceviche which lacked flavor. I had to ask for hot sauce which didnt save it. We really needed lunch on our way from SoCal to Santa Cruz. In a panic, I selected Hunter Ranch and am so happy we stopped here! I think the golf club atmosphere got us in a more mellow mood after some harrowing highway experiences. The ambiance is old-west casual and the views of the golf course soothing. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered the special - a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich with a side salad - and chicken strips and a turkey club (both with fries). The food came really fast. The bacon was to die for and we all enjoyed our meals. The fries were good and the side salad was generous. This was a great place to stop on our journey. We came to this place because they welcome dogs, they even have menu for dogs! They brought over the water bowl for our dog right after we sitting down, very thoughtful! We had Seafood Melt and Southwestern Salad, and chopped burger for our dog. The presentation of Seafood Melt is pretty! The shrimp were small size, not particular special about it. The crab on the other hand, were really tender and big chunk, tasted like lobster! They were pretty generous on the topping on Southwestern Salad, everything is fresh. The chopped burger seems like more than half of pound, two big patties. We can tell that it tasted delicious because our dog digged right into it. The restaurant is in side of a golf course, so the view is really nice. After lunch, we walked around the area to enjoy the scenery. It's a busy place, better to make a reservation ahead. We stopped by to grab a bite before our way back to Fresno. We were thrilled their restaurant had a dog menu. As soon as we arrived, you notice this place is in a golf course. Super clean and pretty golf course. A few feet away from the parking lot, there's Hunter Ranch bar and grill. You literally order the food, pay and then get it. It's more of a self-service place. Came here on Saturday with the family including our Boston. We were served by Tasha who did an excellent job. We came at 3 PM so had food off the Happy Hour menu but didn't have drinks since we had been wine tasting all day. They have some great options for dogs and Ruby had the grilled hot dogs which she inhaled. I don't give it a five star because both times we have been there have been some really overly intoxicated members who are being way to loud and obnoxious. It has the most beautiful overlook of the Paso Robles rolling hills and their outdoor patio overlooking the golf course is stunning. My husband and I both ordered the seafood melt with Caesar salad, and I was so grateful that I ordered my own because we ate everything on our plates!! The crab and baby shrimp are grilled, so it's not too heavy and has just the right amount of richness. Their Caesar salad is one of the best I've ever had and it paired incredibly. Stopped on our way into downtown Paso with our dog. The staff was so welcoming! We were seated right away with our dog on the patio. Our dog was brought a bowl of water right away along with glasses of water for us humans. The views of the golf course from the patio are gorgeous. My dog chowed down on his chopped chicken from the dog menu. My husband loved the tri tip sandwich. The meat was sliced thin and was very tender. I enjoyed the Waldorf salad. They have a beautiful brunch that has lots of different varieties of options. They have the best bacon in the whole entire world. Everything is made fresh their in-house. They have an amazing pastry chef with lots of different pastry treats. The dessert here are beyond impressive. They have a chocolate fountain with lots of different goodies you can dip. I personally love the Views here! It's a breathtaking property. If you like champagne it's included inside your Sunday brunch.
