I don't know who was cooking last night at Jack's Bar and Grill on Creston Road, but I had THE BEST Salmon Orzo ever! It's one of my favorite dishes, so I order it relatively often, but we were there late last night- right before they closed- and it was THE BOMB!! Our server needs a shout out too! I've not seen her before and I didn't catch her name, but she was a petite blonde. We received a couple of very important calls while we were in the restaurant. We wouldn't normally answer while in the restaurant, as we consider it rude. But these were unusual circumstances. Our server was very gracious, giving us time and accommodating our needs. Jan 30, 2026. We called and Dan ordered pork ribs take-out meal. We have ordered this before and it was always very small containers. This time the person asked, dinner meal or take-out ribs meal. Dan said what's the difference? So apparently the dinner is the small one we had before and it feeds like 1 person. But with half or full rack. But the Take-out meal is dinner for 4 basically with large containers and full rack ribs. So for we think $66, we got large containers of coleslaw, mashed potatoes, a smaller matched container gravy, 4 tiny pieces garlic cheese bread and a full rack of pork baby back ribs. This was totally worth it and I would definitely order it again. They are always frugal with the garlic bread which is very good, but it's never enough. I would prefer it be made with sourdough loaf, but it's soft French bread, however The ribs were good. Coleslaw is perfect! Mashed potatoes taste watery and need some cream cheese mixed into it. Stopped in here for dinner with my family. Relatively empty, seated fairly quickly. Ordered Alfredo pasta, shrimp Alfredo and ribeye. All of which were sold out. So we had kids chicken strips, kids burger, buffalo wings, prime rib sandwhich, cod tacos and dumpster nachos (the star of the show) Tacos were truly not good. Do not recommend at all. Nachos were very good, with tri tip addition. Service was average. read more

Standard American fare but the quality is superior compared to most national chains. Located in Paso Robles, they have indoor and outdoor seating. We naturally chose indoor because it was slightly over a hundred degrees outside. They took reservations and accommodated our large party of 10. The Trash Can Nachos were killer and it would have been enough for two people to share. The kids' meals were priced at $12 each and are pricey compared to a lot of other restaurants. The customer service was good. Nothing in particular stands out about Jack's. Overall, we had a good experience at Jack's. Yes the food was good, but we had a great time mostly due to the company. read more

The employees were nice but it doesn't help that we waited so long to order and get our food for it to come out cold. Also went to the ladies room to change my babies diaper and there was no baby changing table in the bathrooms.. so unfortunately in a restaurant I had to change my baby in the booth. Jack's Bar and Grill really impressed me. The wings were cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--and the garlic fries were packed with flavor. We came on Taco Tuesday and were blown away by the $2 tacos. Incredible taste, amazing value! What really made the experience stand out was our server, Jessica. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out quickly (which it did--lightning fast!). Plenty of parking made it super convenient, and the military discount was a thoughtful touch that didn't go unnoticed. I was reluctant to give this Jack's a try, but now I don't know why (perhaps the location on Creston). But honestly, it was very good! Clean and nicely decorated, it has a tantalizing menu, and service was great, too. I've been to the location in Jack's in Templeton, and I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich there. This time, I went for the ribeye burger (w/bacon, egg, swiss, jalapeno), and it was perhaps the best burger I've had in SLO county -- $24 good with excellent fries. With a slew of draft beers, wines, and cocktails, this will be a regular stop for me. read more

Service was great and quick. This was our second time at this location and everything had been good. But today, My French dip was cold and so was my dipping sauce. My margarita had way too much Orange juice and sweetness and so I was a little disappointed. It might have been an off day and for next time, I'll have to go make adjustments. read more

A littler over priced and ribs were ok (kind of had a charcoal/ gas smell to them). All burgers or sandwiches order were really good and fairly priced. We enjoy sitting at the bar, when seats are available. Typically the bar is full with people enjoying a pint after work, then the bar empties by 6-pm and seating is easily available. The bar staff is attentive and fun to talk with as they work mixing cocktails. The food delivery is uber fast at the bar but is also fast at a table. Nothing is outstanding, but everything is tasty and fairly priced. A good place for families and for friends on a night out. There is outside seating for the warm summer nights that is well lighted and comfortable and not crowded. read more

They just opened up this second location in Paso (the original is in Templeton) late last year and it is just wonderful! Dare I say, better than the original. Everyone is so friendly as soon as you walk in and the space is open, bright, and super clean! They have a beautiful full service bar which is also immaculate. Our server, Nick, was AMAZING - so friendly, funny, attentive, and really made my friend (whose birthday we were celebrating) feel extra special! Thanks again, Nick! We ordered the chicken BLT sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich, and they were both really good. The BLT came highly recommended by our sever, and it did not disappoint! They make their BBQ sauce from scratch in house and it is delicious. Their sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo are also super yummy! It's not bad but it's hit and miss for service. The hamburgers are $18 for just a plain hamburger and it's fairly thin. I seem to remember them being thicker before. I have had the oriental chicken salad there and it was good. I have had the French dip and it is good. I just think the hamburger is not that good especially for the price I do like the building and the ambience. And sometimes you get good service, but if you sit by the bar and the bartender is busy, then you won't. read more

We decided to eat here based on a recommendation. Unfortunately, it was good experience. The restaurant was not that busy but there is very limited sitting for party of 8, so they offered to put us on the patio with heaters. They couldn't get the heaters to work so they made space for in inside. Parties of 8 or more are charged a mandatory 20% tip. I wasn't too worried since I usually tip 18% for good service. Well the service and food was not worth the mandatory tip. The server rarely checked on us. We had to ask for drink refills. Our hot appetizer was room temperature. They forgot to bring out a meal. Half of my onion rings were cold and another undercooked. The BBQ tri tip sandwich had very little BBQ sauce and the tri tip was in thick slabs making it very difficult to eat as a sandwich. This the problem with mandatory tips. They can provide subpar food and service and still get a great tip. I don't expect to return and definitely not a party of 8. On a positive note, people in our group did enjoy the Trash Can Nachos. Burgers and fries were also good. read more

The service is hit or miss. Sometimes, we go in and have an amazing server. Other times, we go in and spend a lot of time waiting and craning our necks trying to find any server. Great new restaurant in Paso. It's in a newly remodeled building with great food. TVs with some sports on. I don't drink but it has some great adult beverage options. We ordered the Reuben (which was better in Templeton) but the seared ahi tostada was excellent. I ordered it without the fried "wonton" shell for a healthier option. It was loud due to families with yelling kiddos so not a great choice for a date night. It would be nice if they had more local craft IPAs on tap to support the local breweries (Liquid Gravity, Silva, Paso Robles Brewery).
