So I'm going to start this a little different... I wanted to like this place, and I did! Phenomenal waitstaff, good margaritas and during happy hour, (3 to 6) pretty darn cheap. I went on Friday for prime rib. Walking in, I could smell the smoke that they brag about. Inside decore is a quagmire, kind of Tuscan, kind of old cowboy bar. Anyways, I ordered my prime rib and chose tossed salad to start "I love my tossed salad." Anyhow, it was alot of shredded romaine lettuce with croutons, a Sprinkle of cheddar cheese, and halved grape tomatoes, that being said it was just (meh). Could have used some red onion and a little more cheese. My blue cheese dressing was not really enough to cover the salad, but I made it work. My main dish came hot and looking great! With the exception of the cut of prime was thin "was afraid of this. I Always am when I pay for a good prime". Regardless, it was very flavorful. What was epic is there twist on creamy horseradish sauce, pretty sure I tasted fresh Lemon juice in there? " new one on me" I was put off at first but then realized it brings out key notes in the depth of the meat. It just works well with their smoke on the meat! The mashed potatoes and sautéd veggies were really good, and again complimented the meat very well. On a final note facilities very clean, just a bigger cut would have been better. Went to loafers tonight with 3 family members. I will say they were busy but why does that make poor service ok? We were there two hours for a bbq pulled pork sandwich. Our waitress was not great but when she finally brought our bill which totaled $54, we gave her $73 expecting $19 in change and we could leave our tip. She never returned with our change. We finally had to ask for our change which she seemed irritated by. Not sure why she thought she deserved a 40 percent tip. When she finally brought our change, she shorted us by $3. I personally didn't want to leave her anything at that point but I was so irritated I let my sisters deal with it. It was an awful experience because of her. Good food, good prices. We stopped for lunch here the other day during a day of errands. I forgot to take pictures. I had the French dip sandwich. They use tri-tip sliced thin for the meat, topped with Swiss cheese and served with Au Jus of course. The Au Jus was very good. Sometimes the mark is missed here, and the Au Jus falls flat or is super salty. Theirs was just right. Nice flavor, not too salty, and a few meat chunks at the bottom of cup. Mighty tasty. Since I forgot to take pictures, I have completely forgotten what my other half ate. I remember he had a sandwich and the plate was wiped clean. We enjoyed the meal and will be back! read more

I don't eat here often, but when I do it's always very good. The service is friendly and attentive, the food (small salad with blue cheese dressing and a bacon wrapped filet) was delicious and the pricing was very fair. Being new to the area and picking this place based on the name alone, we were pleased with the look of the inside and especially happy to be able to sit in front of the warm fire. The waitress was able to list the beer selection and make recommendations. The menu is where things fell apart, nothing vegetarian friendly (salads don't count). Settled for one of each of the fish taco dishes for about $16 each. Our faces dropped when she place two tiny tacos in front of each of us. One had deep fried fish (when deep fried it doesn't really matter what type of fish it is) and no flavor whatsoever. The other dish's fish was so very dry, the poor thing. The mango salsa was the only sign of moisture. Complete rip off at $8 for a tiny poorly prepared taco. read more

Love this place. We had the chicken bisque soup, chicken pot pie soup, pretzel sticks, fried pickles and margaritas to drink. All of the food was absolutely delicious!!! The soups were some of the best tasting soups I've ever had. The bisque had hints of green Chile (which is my favorite food) and the pot pie soup reminded me of comfort food from home. I would definitely recommend this place for food and for drinks. It has a wonderful outdoor patio if you choose to sit outside and the inside seating has floor to ceiling windows. Check them out!!! Sorry to say this place has gone down hill since Monte and Wendy have sold, portion sizes are smaller and service lacks bad. We were seated outside Friday night looking forward to a nice meal. Had to go inside to find waiter and then when he came out took forever to get drinks. Ordered prime rib and he came by twice and said they were just slicing it and the same story 15 minutes later. Basically the whole patio was seated after us and all got their food before us. Not one to complain but they are not on point. I ordered the "Steak Medallions" grilled beef in a great sauce, with a few onions, mushrooms, & peppers. @ $15 with an option for $4 more for some Red Potatoes mashed. & seasonal veggies ? My order came with 6 squared pieces of Beef, few onion slices, mushrooms, & red & green peppers. With a good portion of the Red Potatoes mashed. But NO seasonal veggies to be seen anywhere. I called the server over. I ask him where the Seasonal Veggies were ? He stared there in with the ( onions, mushrooms & peppers). I stated that I couldn't see a Single Veggie. I even spread the minimal onions, mushrooms, peppers out. So he stated that he would ask the Cook. He came back stating that the Cook ran out of the Seasonal Veggies already. It was only 3:30pm in the Afternoon. So he said he would take $2 off the $4 addon as the Red Potatoes were in my plate. I asked why the Cook didn't let him know that when he brought me my dish ? Couldn't answer that. Then he came back a few minutes later stating that the Cook would try to put some thing together. I attended a holiday work party here (about 40 people) and couldn't have been more pleased. We were offered a limited menu: fillet mignon, pork tenderloin, chicken marsala, vegetarian pasta. I had the beef, and it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked alongside decadent mashed potatoes and some delicious fresh (not squeaky) green beans. The service was on top of it, especially considering the size of our party. The space they put us all in was roomy and secluded so I never felt we were a problem for other patrons. I didn't eat but my bro and sister-in-law did. I was too full from previous eatings, not that you care about any of that jazz. I was merely coming to hangout. This place has a great atmosphere. Used to be a full service automobile station back in the old days. They have a great menu and a great beer selection. I experienced something I have never seen before at this place. It is a giant tube thing with a tap on the bottom where you can order your favorite beer and have it placed on your table. Pretty cool idea and definitely more fun than a pitcher. Both the steak and the steak salad were enjoyed tremendously by the two I was with however the pretzel break with cheese dip had nothing to desire. The cheese dip had no flavor whatsoever. So, basically it was delicious pretzel bread dipped in tasteless white sauce. I cannot wait to return to the mid-valley and come back for some food of my own. read more

Haven't been here in a very long time, was super excited to have chicken bisque soup, unfortunately, didn't get what I expected. The flavor wasn't there, it was runny, and the chicken was cubed. The recipe has changed and not for the better. So disappointed. Also, husband and I both had sandwiches that fell apart on the first bite, bread was stale/dry, not what it used to be. Definitely won't be back. Also, the Alfredo was bland, and had a fishy taste, daughter couldn't finish it. All in all, the big group that went in, won't be returning. This was my first, last and worst experience at this restaurant. If you have $70.00 to waste on dinner and hate your food, come here! My husband and I went to this place on Friday night for dinner and it was around 7, so it was not that busy, lots of empty tables. We proceeded to have drinks and then our server came took our order and we never saw her again. My husband got the prime rib special medium: which let me tell you is just bland red meat! Absolutely NO seasoning whatsoever. Just bloody and tasteless. And the mashed potatoes were cold and stuck together. So needless to say he did not eat his dinner we took it home for the dog. I got a "Chicken Sando" and it was ok. The meat was pounded so thin it dried out completely, so really protein there. I ate 1/2 and that was that. Cold fries, warm drinks. This use to be a nice place to eat but given last nights meal or lack of I'm not so sure anymore. Waitress was very nice and courteous. 4 orders showed up in a reasonably slow manner. Half of the 5th orders was brought to the table and we were informed after an hour that the other half of the order was out and did we wish to order something else. Not at all impressed. I recall this used to be the go to place -food was good and service was great. Things seem to have changed however, and now it's just another place that sells limited menu items prepared by a basic line cook. It's not terrible, but it's not great either...meanwhile the service was questionable. At one point, I had explained to the waitress that my mixed drink tasted bitter and not very good, she took it personal and stated that no one ever complains about her drinks. Okay....but, that didn't change the fact that the drink tasted bad. Anyway, the hospitality seemingly changed from that point on. Bottom line, if your going to serve mixed drinks...know what the hell your doing and don't be offended if a paying customer offers you feedback after you inquire "how are the drinks"! Overall, the place is clean and offers plenty of seating inside and out. The decor is somewhat dated and could use some touch up. This was really a 2.5 star experience, but i'll round up. read more

This is where you go when you want to hammer four beers, a shot, play some lottery, watch some football and shout over your gigantic burger to your wife who is happy too and shouting too about how fantastic the fried oysters are. Really fantastic. We love eating outside in what is essentially the parking lot all summer long. We spend a day on the river, drinking some brewskies, catching some fish, swimming, playing with the dogs. We aren't Elmers, Denny's kinds of people but after a day at the river we're too happy and dirty to go to say, Frankie's or the Vault. Loafer's does the trick and you never leave hungry. My son and I had lunch at Loafer's today. The food was tasteless and overpriced. I ordered the blackened salmon tacos. The salmon was over cooked and "fishy" tasting. Though it was topped with a mango salsa, there was absolutely no flavor. The price was $14. My son ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was small and shriveled-looking. The meat was dry and overcooked. The salad consisted of a little romaine lettuce and 2 tomato wedges. The cost was $16. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was efficient. I did notice that after she served our meals, she never asked us how the food was. My guess is that she has heard numerous complaints throughout her tenure. My advice: ignore this restaurant! Service was slow, manager was rude, food was low-quality! I was really looking forward to eating there after the re-opening but I won't go back now! Full story: Went to loafers before the Loft Tour on Friday, May 6th, 2011; was excited about the re-opening. The initial service was slow for taking our orders (I was with a friend and my boyfriend). We waited so long for our food that I got up and asked them the status of my salad since it shouldn't take that long to bring a salad before the meal. The waitress told me usually they serve salads with the meal so they weren't going to bring it until my hot food had arrived so that I could stare at my hot food getting cold while eating my salad, apparently. The little side salad was good once it made it to us though. Then, my burger arrived and it looked undercooked (red in the middle), it looked like someone had dropped raw meat on the hamburger bun so I set that aside not wanting to eat the suspiciously red-stained bottom bum, and the meat was very fatty and looked low quality. It just looked so unappetizing that I didn't want to eat it so I told the waitress she could take it back to the kitchen. I asked her to bring me a menu so I could maybe pick something else instead. Then the manager came over all charged up and she started into a big speech about how her burger meat is hand picked and they ground it fresh that morning so it's the best possible meat and there's nothing wrong with it so what can she do for me? I didn't quite know how to take that since she basically just told me that my opinion of the meat was wrong and that she's right. I told her I wasn't sure that there was anything she could do since she already had her mind made up that everything from her kitchen was just fine and dandy. I told her I was waiting for a menu so I could see if there was something to re-order so she ran off in a huff to go get me one. By the time I got the menu, though, I was so put off by the rude manager telling me I was wrong before I even got to say anything and so put off by the look of the meal in the first place, not to mention the super slow service, that it wasn't surprising to me that I found nothing else on the menu worth ordering. I had two people with me who assured me that I wasn't crazy; that the manager acted very inappropriately and handled the situation horribly. We got the bill and there it was: a charge for $6.50 for a crappy burger that I didn't even take one bite out of and had returned. They left the charge for the burger on the bill?? Seriously?? OK. I had to ask my boyfriend to go up and pay because if I went up there and had to talk to them I knew I was going to cause a big scene. He had to argue with them for at least 5 minutes at the counter to get the burger charge removed. read more

I have a hard time understanding the low average star rating for Loafers! I'm so glad they re-opened. Their Food is great with a nice sized menu, full bar,friendly staff and is nicely designed and very clean. I mostly eat in the restaurant, but the deli/bakery area is a really nice other option. Thursday is $1 taco night at Loafers. Good tacos! Small house made shells filled with shredded pork, lettuce and cheese. They were very busy and it was a bit noisy. But the servers are friendly and the food was good. I will go back and have them again. read more
