Spent the evening strolling Plymouth then stopped at The Lobster Hut to have a fried seafood smorgasbord for dinner. We chose the Fisherman's Platter for two, which comes with fresh fish, clams, scallops and shrimp, deep fried in fresh oil. They were breaded perfectly and the portion was huge! The swordfish nuggets were the best nugget I've had the pleasure of eating. A beautiful, cloud-filled sky over Plymouth Harbor made for a very picturesque setting. I'm not sure the next time I'll be visiting Plymouth, but I know I'll be stopping back at The Lobster Hut when I do!

Broiled scallops and fish chowder

Broiled scallops were dry and bland. Fish chowder had plenty of fish but was thin and luke warm. Overall, nothing special or exceptional compared to other seafood places in the area. Maybe fried vs. broiled would have been better. Service was fast since it wasn't busy mid-week.

I really love it here. I live in Rhode Island, but still take the trip for Massachusetts seafood, as it differs from Rhode Island's. The Fisherman's platter is enough food to feed two people, however, if you are a big eater, they do offer one for two. My only complaint was that it was mostly clam strips and maybe only two shrimp And six scallops. Like everything else it's not cheap. Prepare to pay about $65 for two people to dine in. I always get the broiled fish sandwich as I don't love too much fried food. It will run you about 7 bucks. There are some free parking spots outside. Lines are typically not very long and there is ample seating.

Met some friends here for lunch. This place is right on the water and they have a lot of outdoor seating as well. My wife and I split a shrimp and scollop combo. With fries and a cup of clam chowder. The shrimp were large and fried to perfection. The scollops were big and sweet. The chowder was full of clams and was delicious. We even got a quart to go to bring back to North Carolina.

On a recent motor coach New England fall foliage tour our trip leader suggested we have lunch here. With 48 passengers this footprint could accommodate all. It's a counter service setup. Pay at the counter, then wait for your # to be called. We had declared prior to arriving in New England that our family was going to have lobster rolls wherever it was offered on the menu. Ordered: * hubby had the lobster salad roll * I shared a hot buttered lobster roll plate with my daughter. * bowls of clam chowder soup. Pros: * clam chowder soup hot. Minced clams, chopped potatoes, oyster crackers. * hubby's lobster salad was good size. It was cold lobster on a hot dog bun. He wanted lobster on green salad, but this is what he got. He said just enough. Cons: * this was our 2nd stop for a lobster roll as it was only Day 2 of our trip. At the conclusion of our trip we ate five in five different restaurants. This by far was the worst one. Same price point. $32+ per roll. * food served on a t.v. tray. * the buttered lobster came in a small pie tin pan. You had to make your own on the very tiny hot dog shaped bun. * small portion size of buttered lobster. Too much melted butter in bottom of pie pan. The menu was more enticing than the actual meal.

First time visit. A local recommended it and that was a good call. Good service very informative staff. Food came out fresh, hot and not a bit oily. Had the hot butter lobster roll and I liked the way it was served, deconstructed. Really didn't need all the toasted roll. Plenty of lobster. Also the fried clams were plenty in the order. Very clean restaurant with a quaint view.

Great location on the water with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating - the outdoor seating has water views. Walk-up counter designed for volume - it's quick and efficient even with a line and a crowd. Price points are about what you would expect them to be for a casual seafood stand in a tourist area - with the bonus that they have smaller portions of things so you can get a $15 or $30 lobster roll. I got the hot buttered lobster roll - generous portion of lobster claws in butter and lots of fries. Was maybe a tiny bit over cooked but that was not shocking given that this is a fast food seafood stand. A good place to get lobster and then go on with your day. :)

A nice cup of one of the best chowders in MA with fish n chips plus tarter sauce in the background!

We're frequent customers (since childhood) and we enjoy coming to Lobster Hut! The restaurant is always super clean, the atmosphere is friendly, the food is always great and consistent and it's inexpensive for the quality and portion sizes. They have increased their prices due to inflation but the freshness, quality & quantity are still the same! Plus when the weather is nice there's a very nice patio with outdoor tables overlooking Plymouth harbor with all of the boats and gorgeous horizon! It's kid & pet friendly, there's something for everyone on their menu!!

Our favorite Plymouth spot for eating outside and watching the harbor. Their prices are still lower than most lobster restaurants.

I was in the area for yet another specialist appointment and was not feeling in the best spirit…read more Since it was a fasting appointment, I was pretty hungry so the hubby brought me here. I don't know if I was starving, unhappy or what but this place and meal hit the spot and hit it hard. I thought I deserved a drink so I got a Guinness, which was thankfully on tap so yah! I got the bourbon steak tips with steak fries and opted for a garden salad instead of the green beans - yes, yes, and yes! Steak tips were perfectly flavorful and cooked just right for my taste. I really wanted fries and (unlike some of my family/friends) I actually like steak fries and they were cooked up just the way I like'em (crisp outside, not too mushy on the inside). The salad though, yah it was basic and yet not - all kinds of different colored tomatoes which actually had great flavor to them, and it was not just a couple but quite a few and they were "fresh". That is basically what I loved about the salad - not your typical anemic looking/tasting salad but with mixed greens (not just lame looking iceberg) and full of other veggies. The server also could not have been nicer (like I said I went through a lot that day so seeing a friendly face was nice) and always checking on us. I think we made a great choice in stopping here - it was a 4:30 on a Tuesday and it was busy. Good sign!

Bottom line... it doesn't get much better than Dillon's Local…read more My only gripe is that it's a little small, so if your timing isn't right, you might be waiting for a table -- but honestly, that's part of the charm. It has that cozy hometown pub feel: sports on, music playing, and a great local vibe. The staff treats you like you've been coming in for years, making you feel like a regular right away -- and that's definitely a good thing. Homemade comfort food that hits on every level, a delicious menu from top to bottom, and a drink menu that complements it perfectly. And by the way... the Guinness pours well!

People debate whether Plymouth Rock is worth a detour, but I found it to be an interesting stop with a gorgeous waterfront view. While in Plymouth, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at East Bay Grile. The restaurant gives off a country club vibe with valet parking, a classic darker indoor dining area, and a wonderful bright outdoor patio with appropriate background music. I had the fried shrimp dish with onion rings and fries, a very tasty meal and a wonderful value at just $23. Our lunch averaged about $35 per person all in including drinks, tax and tip. I would highly recommend that people swing by Plymouth when visiting the Cape, especially if flying through Boston. If you do go to Plymouth, East Bay grille is the place to go for a wonderful meal.
