We were craving lobster rolls after shopping at the Carlsbad Outlet and found this place locating inside the Windmill Food Hall. It's our first time visiting the Food Hall. It's pretty amazing. This place is located right across for the bar and easy to find. The menu is simple yet creative. Not only they have your "standard" lobster, crab, or shrimp rolls. They also have creative Cali roll or rolls with truffle. I love it! We tried their regular lobster roll and Cali crab roll. Don't get fool by the picture! The roll is really big! I loved my Cali crab roll! It's so creative. The flavor was perfect with the chives, bacon, and lettuce inside. I highly recommend it. The lobster roll was great too. The coleslaw was also good. Delicious food. I had the lobster bisque (very good, among the best I've ever had). And I had the caviar toast. It's not the best caviar I've ever had, but it was definitely good, fresh and It satisfied my craving for caviar. It's served on a small toast square with egg salad and caviar on top. Overall 2.4/5. Customer service was very lacking. The cashier was not enthusiastic and when my partner asked the difference in portions he gave him attitude. Lobster didnt taste anything special and the portion was okay for the price. Garlic butter didnt have much flavor. Highly recommend this place! I was so surprised by how delicious their food were. The truffle lobster roll was full of flavors. Big thunks of lobster meat. Bread was perfectly buttered, crispy outside and fluffy inside. The greens on the top was a great touch. The caviar was also a must have. As a caviar lover, I wasn't expecting much from a food court. To my surprise, their caviar was so good. I could eat more! Their lobster bisque was flavorful. Great for cold weather. We also tried grilled cheese lobster and shrimp. Both were good. This was some of the, if not the, best lobster roll I've had! The lobster is cleaned well, seasoned beautifully, and so tender. The brioche bread is so buttery and crispy and somehow soft too! I actually had no idea there was different styles of lobster rolls and ended up going with an XL Connecticut style and it did not disappoint. I expected so so much more from Lobster Lab, I've been following them on IG for a while now and see so many delectable posts I knew I had to try them. I found myself headed to San Diego and made a stop to check it out. I got there just as they were closing so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it but the food was lacking. I ordered an XL lobster roll for $34 which isn't a terrible price compared to other lobster rolls. The lobster was so bland and flavorless I was shocked. I don't know if being there at closing was a factor or if it was just a off night but there's no way this is what they usually serve. The man who took my order and served me was nice and didn't rush me at all which I appreciated and the food hall they are located in is a nice little spot I would love to check out again. We went to legoland and saw this place nearby. The place is food court style. The gentleman that took our order was so amazingly kind. That's the kind of customer service places should strive to give! I ordered a lobster roll and clam chowder. The food was great! The normal lobster roll was packed with lobster meat and it was so good! The clam chowder came with some bread and the bread was amazing! My kids were fighting over who gets the last piece.
