I came on Father's Day, and we had a wonderful time. The lobster rolls are fantastic, and they have a classic CT style and also some fun variations. I went with the Heat Wave, which had habanero infused butter on the side. It was delicious. Not too hot, but a good kick. There is seating outside their store with a pop up tent for shade. I only wish they had more chairs and tent space because it is not fun to stand in the parking lot on a hot day. We ended up taking our rolls to the Sherman green gazebo and found a shady spot. Was our go to to bring a reasonably priced & generous lobster roll for a beach picnic. Yep, I'm hooked. Since moving to Norwalk, this food truck has been on the top of my "must try" list. I did my research and knew what to expect from the prices. We ordered two Coastals and Lobster Mac & Cheese. The mac & cheese was originally for my daughter because I wasn't sure if she would care for the lobster roll. I took home one of their lobster pot pies. A small pie that cost me $15 plus tax. There were two identifiable pieces of lobster in the pie and the rest was mostly minced carrots, onion, peppers and perhaps some fennel. Those flavors overwhelmed any lobster flavor that may have existed. I was so disappointed. I had three bites and the rest ended up in my compost bin. But I'm questioning whether the lobster was fresh or frozen.. Fresh , meaning lobster was caught that day and I'm eating lobster that was caught out of the water that day. My favorite food truck has become a restaurant (or at least a lobster shack!). LobsterCraft has opened at 1891 Post Road, Fairfield -- with its incredible variety of wonderful warm lobster rolls. And Captain Mike himself is doing the cooking and manning the counter. Warning: it is difficult to find. It is across from Rawleys.....in the parking lot behind a foot doctor's office. But it is well worth the search! The shack opened only three weeks ago. In past years, Captain Mike had nothing to do after his seasonal trucks stopped operating in the fall. While the truck is parked at this location, you order inside a small shop - clean and very welcoming. Then you can either take away your food or eat beneath a tented area that is simple and inviting. I had the lobster grill cheese which was served between two pieces of delicious toasted Italian bread that had just the right crisp and flavor. So let me start by saying that I went to The Lobstercraft food truck in Greenwich. I was so excited to see it because I have been wanting to try this place. I have no problem paying $19 for a lobster roll and $10 for a cup if bisque. It's lobster, I get it, not cheap but it's also not caviar!! The lobster roll I got was really really good but there was hardly any lobster. I had the Heat Wave and loved the spicy butter they used. My first bite was all bread though (very yummy buttered bread but no lobster...made me sad). Then the bisque....oh im yes the flavor was spot on but zero chunks of lobster. Zero!! Come on now, give me at least one bite to new on. So while the flavor was a clear 5 star review, the shortage of lobster took away from it. Like I said, the prices were fair for lobster rolls and bisque but you have to give me a bit more protein to make these work. read more

We were so disappointed in our dinner. I've been hearing about how wonderful Lobstercraft is and that they have the best lobster rolls around. Excitedly, we ordered lobster rolls, shoestring "freedom" fries and macaroni and cheese. Sounds delicious, right? It wasn't. 1) The lobster roll had barely any lobster in it. It was completely overshadowed by the bun. Totally disappointing. Then the shoestring fries were not shoestring at all. They were crinkle cut, and soggy too. I searched the mac and cheese for the cheese and couldn't find any. It was basically macaroni. After dinner, we called the restaurant and inquired if there's been a problem with the shoestring fries because we were served crinkle cut. We were told by the young woman who answered the phone that, no, that's all they ever serve. Well then, why put it in the menu as shoestring? So all in all, I was very disappointed. In fact, I told my mom, who is in her 80s, that we were going to a dinner party and were having lobster rolls, and she replied that she hoped it wasn't those awful rolls from that place we'd gone to.
