Awesome group of guys here. The wifey got her first tat by AJ and boy was she nervous about the pain and it coming out just right. Expectations were high at the least. AJ got it done quick and it was surprisingly nicer than we thought. They're a tribal ship, but AJ is great at Asian styles too! As for me, Ricky did mine and I wanted tribal. Ricky sat and went over my life story for a couple hours and grabbed a pen to Free-hand the whole thing. Keep in mind, I've gone to highly reputable places in DT Pdx and they didn't seem to care about the life story deal. They wanted to put what they wanted and make it look good. I get looks are important, but the symbols have meaning guys. You wouldn't put words on your body because the letters were nice would you? They have clean lines and I checked did my research before going in. The best part was the atmosphere. Other shops can give out some negative vibes. This place makes you feel like family. Mine took 4 sessions and was better than I could've imagined. BTW, Ricky did Brian McKnight's tat, so that's gotta mean something too. They were also more affordable than the other shops. If you're thinking about getting one, you gotta stop by this place before deciding. read more

TO PREFACE my artist was UK Kulot on instagram I went in to get two, two inch tattoos for my birthday on saturday at 10am. I arrived with a friend who had her appointment set for 11 am. We got in the artist called us back, mind you without having us fill out any paperwork or checking our IDs. He called us back and then proceeded to set up the shop wash a window and post some of his flash outside. He was on his phone 90% of the time and i dont think we started tattooing until after 1030. By 1030 he hadnt even put the stencils on and after he did that he let me sit there for another ten minutes just doing absolutly nothing. Once we finally got to tattooing he went for a little bit then stopped to take a break (He did not me) for a little while, then went back to it. After the first tattoo i went and used the restroom and came back quickly because i had somewhere to be that afternoon. He did not start tattooing me again for 10 more minutes because he was showing my friend things on his phone and chatting with her. Then once he did start tattooing again he didnt wash his hands and i dont believe he changed his gloves either. During this second tattoo he stopped again part way through to talk to me about school for what felt like twenty minutes. after the second tattoo he finished sprayed some bactine without asking me about any allergies or anything at all i had to ask what he sprayed on my arm. Then moved on to my friend. Her tattoo was reletivly quick, he sprayed her with bactine without asking and then proceeded to clean my tattoo touch his phone and contunie touching my tattoo. After that i told him i was allergic to saniderm so he used seran wrap which is tottaly fine ive had that before! But he wraped it in a way that cut off the circulation to both of my arms. My friend asked for sanaderm/second skin to which he said he didn't have any and wraped her arm in saran wrap as well.I got two fully colored tattoos (which i have never had before) and he gave me absolutely no aftercare instructions nor did he tell me anything at all about matinence or care of a colored tattoo. I have 30 something tattoos im not stupid when it comes to aftercare but nether me nor my friend have colored tattoos so we had no idea how to take care of them. We ended up leaving the shop at 130, three and a half hours later for three two inch tattoos. I WISH IT ENDED HERE. I got home and i was feeling a lot of pain in my arms. I brushed it off as just healing and soreness from the bactine wearing off i kept the seran wrap on and went on with my night. I ended up taking it off to shower (On their website it says you can take off the second skin after two hours) and head to bed My arms were hurting so bad at this point i couldn't put any pressure on them and touching around or on the tattooed area hurt so bad it brought me to tears. Today i two days later and they are crusted and burning. It feels like a constant rug burn. Whenever i move my arms it feels like my skin is ripping. They wont spot leaking and they're constantly hot to the touch. I am really worried that they are infected and im nervous that i will have to go to urgent care to get antibiotics. It is genuinely the worst pain of my life and the tattoos themselves look blistered. I will absolutely never be going back here and i wish i could get my money back so i could pay for the antibiotics. read more

Him along with all the other staff are very friendly and I felt very welcomed while I spent my day there. They also gave clear aftercare instructions, followed all COVID guidelines, and the ability to contact them directly for further questions regarding aftercare. Worked with the owner Ricky, initially planning to do a half sleeve. After seeing what he came up with, COMPLETELY FREE HANDED, I was blown away! Six months later I came back to turn the half sleeve into a full one because I admired his work so much! Ricky is great at listening to what you really want and knows exactly how to incorporate his Pasifika tatau knowledge to create an art piece people can't help but compliment! My first ever trip to Kona earlier this year included a day Marlin fishing just off the coast of the big island. I was rewarded that day with the fish of a lifetime; a beautiful 15' Marlin. Before our boat returning to the dock, I knew I wanted to honor her with a tattoo; my first. My great fortune was tempered immediately upon my return home with the news my twin brother's battle with cancer was coming to an end. With 10 days he would pass. Within weeks I began my search for an artist to bring my Marlin to life. As I visited local parlors and reviewed different artist's works, I soon decided I wanted my Marlin to reflect the islands and ocean I had experienced. Fortunately, I soon found Local Boy Tatau, and saw Ricky Gs work on Yelp and their web site. When I called about meeting him, Ricky answered the phone, and we had a good conversation. A few weeks later I stopped by the shop and met Ricky and some other artists who work with him. I felt that I had made the right decision to ask Ricky to create and ink my tattoo, so we set an appointment for my birthday which was yesterday. We began talking shortly after I arrived at the parlor, for a good while, and he asked many questions about my fishing experiences, my family and my life. She is so welcoming and inviting. I am a nurse and did SO much research on the procedure and do not even have a body tattoo, so to say the least I was so nervous and hesitant to make the decision. Being in the beauty industry myself, I take my face very seriously with any possible alterations or enhancement that I choose to get, picking Amanda has been one of the best decisions yet! Prior to coming in Amanda eased my fears and answered all my questions, she is VERY knowledgable about her eyebrows and very passionate. The thing I really enjoy and appreciate about her is that she listens to what YOU want. She lets you feel in charge of your own brow journey while recommending her knowledge and professional opinion. She draws out your eyebrows prior to starting and asks you what you think of it. Also makes changes that you suggest without hesitation. Amanda custom mixes shades for you and helps you pick out what is most complementary to YOUR skin tone. This whole experience was amazing and I just finished my touch up and dont think that even on my BEST day of eyebrows that they have every looked this good. It looks great with no make-up on and even better when I actually do wear make up (mind you I no longer have to buy eyebrow pencils because they look so great).
