I can't believe how immature Local Burger actually is with the menu problem. I can't eat gluten and Dragon Nest has the best tasting buns I have ever had. All my friends who don't need to eat gluten free also love the buns it's very hit or miss if they actually still have Dragons Nest or not. Sometimes they do other times I've been given disgusting buns which I will not go to either location to not have the buns that I like. Dragon Nest site has them listed, that's how I found out about Local Burger. Dragons Nest is not featured on the menus or website...but still think it's okay to sell their buns half of the time. read more

Forgot to write a review for this place and I feel it is necessary. I come here a few times a month on lunch break and every time I do they make sure I'm in and out with-in an hour. Also every time I've eaten here the burgers, fries, onion rings and shakes are amazing. There local sauce is on point and they have a craft root beer made on Long Island that all though pricey is one of the best root beers I've ever had. They did not want to serve me a beer even though im well over the drinking age just because im from out of state they asked for a 2nd form of i.d. then the waiter gets manager or and she comes asking me what high school i went to and what street it was on... They have interesting sodas and cocktails. Mexican Coca-Cola (real sugar) and Saranac brewed root beer (goood). I ordered a PB & B cheddar burger. Peanut Butter... Bacon... Cheddar. The menu said "trust us" and so I did. It was good. Burgers are 4oz but tasty. Truffle Fries were a bit soggy but tasty. Under 20 bucks with tip. My Quinoa burger was amazing, a little small but the flavor was still awesome and my cocktail was fantastic and blue! My complaint goes to the Mac and cheese bites. Yikes! They came out blackened to a crisp, my boyfriend and I bit into them horrified because they had the strongest burnt taste. I felt embarrassed for the poor waitress who was forced by the kitchen staff to bring them to our table. We immediately asked her to take them away and remove them from our bill. IDK... but I walked in and I wasn't greeted by the gentleman at counter. I ordered and wasn't offered anything else... I digress to say my visit was a recommendation... I ordered a burger (pretty good-even though the bun didn't fit the large burger patty). I wasn't offered fries or a drink and when I thought about it I wasn't asked if I was dining in or ordering to go. After I paid, I asked about the milkshake and handed a menu. When I asked if I could stay, the person said "oh!" and walked away. I say myself. I didn't think much of it until I watch how all the other customers were treated or should I say valued. Water was never brought to the table or offered. My table was never visited nor was I asked if I was okay or needed anything else. I watched each new guest enter the LOCAL. They were greeted and served. Every other table was frequented except mine and I was only served. I watched the staff pass to ask every other table if they were okay while I sat there with just my burger and fries. Customers who had yet to pay were treated better than myself and I had already paid. For those that question how busy the place was... 3 singles who ate alone (1 was here already), 3 tables with 2 guests and 1 table of 4 (who was here already). This totaling 5 guests (me 6) and no services was rendered. The food was good. The service was poor. The reggae that played and the drink menu are the ONLY reasons I would return. Sorry. My family and I went local burger today around 2pm, the place was empty they would not seat us right away. Our total number of people was 9. They said we had to wait to be seat about 15 mins. And we said the place is empty why can't I put the some tables together. The hostess and manger we nasty and rude to us. I will not go back to this place. This is my second time going to Local Burger. Dom, our server, started out with giving us beer samples of beers he suggested, and my fiancé went with one of his choices. He was also super nice and made sure we knew everything that was going on at the shop. We ordered not long after that and I got the Bleu burger (I am a huge bleu cheese fan and the cheese was tangy and stinky, perfect for BC) and my fiancé got the PB&B, which he loved. I was skeptical but it actually was very good. We also got the fiddy-fiddy to split, and I thought the meaty (think zeppole) onion rings were fantastic, though he wasn't too wild on them because they aren't like traditional breaded onion rings. Everything was great, and for the price I feel like I owe them money! If you're loyal to Bay Shore, please support this place, they're keeping money in our local economy and serving really, really good food. read more

The better burger places on long island thats not Shake Shack or Five Guys. Some of complaints on here are ridiculous. The food here is great, I do agree though the patty is somewhat thin, but I do like this because I left the place satisfied and not hating myself. You may actually have room for a shake or some type of desert. To quote the great Louis CK -- "I don't stop eating when I'm full. The meal isn't over when I'm full. It's over when I hate myself." The fries options to go with your burger is great and to top it all off it isn't all that expensive in the end. Out of all the burger places I've been too I think this ranks up at the top. Used to be one of our favorite spots but has become pretty overpriced. Our bill for two adults and two kids meals was $70 with tip. The food has also gone down in quality which also led to the two star review. I dont mind spending a few extra bucks as most places prices have gone up recently. Food was okay. Kinda like All American. Fries were soggy and not cooked really well (no taste of vinegar on vinegar salt fries). It came on store bought Martins potato buns. With delivery and tip for 2 burgers, fries and a shake came to $50+ dollars. Definitely not worth it. Saw it plugged on channel 12 so I thought I'd give it a try. My wife had a cheeseburger and fries with a lemonade and I had pb burger with fries and onion rings and a root beer. The fries were pretty good the onion rings ok and the burgers were ok ( a little on the small size ). This place became pretty quickly our regular spot for burger. Super tasty patty, fresh and without a greasy after taste. I've tried the dinner fries and the sweet potato fries, both highly recommended. They offer a nice selection of local beers and craft sodas. Service was ahsome. I ordered up the hangover, with some 4am fries, my boy across from me gawt the smokeshow with truffle fries. I come here regularly with colleagues for lunch. The place is usually not packed and we get our table right away. Burgers are very delicious but the portions are smaller than usual. Must get fries to have a filling lunch. The atomic burger with Cajun fries are my to go. Bring a jacket if you want to sit inside. It is always very COLD, you have to keep your jacket on entire time or shiver your way eating your meal. Not sure if they do that so you can eat your food and get out. read more

I have been wanting to try this spot in my quest to find the best burger on LI (my answer has not changed, yet) and I'm glad I finally made it. I will start by saying it is pointless to make reservations unless you are literally standing there because apparently if even 2 minutes passes between the time you get the alert that your table is ready and you get to the restaurant your table will be given away. Second suggestion is if you are eating here outside of the summer months/weather, you may want to bring a sweater as it gets pretty chilly in here. Our server Sean was super friendly, and attentive. I had a pretty basic burger: just a single patty with cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and garlic aioli. I was disappointed to learn the burgers are not made to order and the rarest they will be is about Medium-Well. I also ordered Cajun fries on the side, and Cream soda. The soda has real cane sugar in it, and it was a liiiittle too sweet for me, perhaps because I do NOT have a sweet tooth whatsoever. The food came out really quickly, and there were no errors in either of our orders - nice. There was A LOT of sauce though, like literally the burgers were drowning in sauce. I would say the size of this burger is in between what I consider to be a burger (lol) and a slider. They're served on like...dinner rolls for crying out loud. I liked the spice on the Cajun fries, although I've seen a lot of negative comments about that. The portion of the fries are great, and can be shared. But my friend is a garbage compactor and would bite me if I tried taking one of his fries. All in all, I would give this place another shot and maybe add an egg to my burger. Got a double patty burger wit chedda, local sauce, garlic aoili & a few fixins (pickle chips, lettuce etc). Burger, even with the sauce,bdidn't have much flavor, i'll give it a (6.4). When I go to a place i'm lookin for flavor. This burger was stacked yet had nothing notably tasty about it even with all the ingredients put together. Not sure who they got in the kitchen but things could def be stepped up a notch. Also got the egg, cheese & bacon fries as recommended by the bar tender. He wasn't wrong, they were fairly solid i'll give him that, I'd say even a (6.6) worthy. However, for a side like this to cost over 6 bucks you would think there'd be more bacon in the mix and the cheese to be real, not liquid. The egg was fine. Main problem was that the fries were duckin shot, complete shard. Some of the most reggie main FF I've ever had actually, just super duper dry even with everything on them. Great local burger spot. As the name would indicate, everything sold here is locally sourced including the drinks. The burgers are great and creative. I suggest the burger with the fiddy fiddy, a mix of fries and onion rings. Local burger has just the right amount of hipster burger bar ambience for a new and upcoming downtown in Bay Shore and is a great place to come and grab a burger with friends. read more

The food tasted good, but man they need to package better. Ketchup exploded everywhere in the bag they gave me, ripped a hole in the bag and got all over the seat of my car. Now I need to get the car/seat detailed because they overfilled it or didn't seal it properly. The bag the fries came in was practically ripped as well and the box had ketchup all over it.
