Recent visit from MD on a lazy Monday afternoon. Sat at the bar, ordered a couple of beers. Good draft beer list and cans/bottle selection as well. For lunch we ordered smoked chicken Caesar salad, 12 wings with Sweet Aioli, mild & ranch sauce and a cup of beef brisket chili. Everything came out quickly. We were very impressed. The smoked chicken salad was the best. Lots of really tender, smoky meat on a bed of romaine lettuce. The wings were delicious too. They come out dry with a rub of some kind and then you dip your wings in whatever sauce you ordered. The brisket chili was really good too. Enjoyed this experience and will try to come back next time we are visiting SC. read more

Local cue offers a great bar food menu. I usually get the smoked chicken wings which comes dry rubbed and you have a wide variety of sauces on the side to chose from. The BBQ nachos are awesome and here's a tip, you can order it with pork rinds if you prefer instead of the nacho chips. As far as their tap, they have 20+ different beers on rotation. They have pool tables, ping pong table, corn hole, darts, and lots of board games. They are located on a shopping strip and on a busy night it's kinda hard to find parking. All in all... You're totally missing out if you've never come here with a friend or two. They have a good variety of games to play such as board games, pool, darts, corn hole, and even ping pong! I think their dry rubbed wings might be rubbed with magic since they're so good (I'm onto you guys). I love that you can choose different sauces to dip them in. My absolute favorite flavor is the sweet chili aioli. The grits are creamy and had the right amount of flavor to it. I was looking on Yelp earlier today to find some place different for lunch and happened upon Local Cue. The reviews were favorable so I presented this to my friend as one of the choices. I'm glad he agreed on this one. While their sign says Game and Sports Bar they are zoned as a Night Club, so there is a mandatory ID check. I look every year of my 44 years and can't remember the last time I was asked for an ID, especially since I don't drink. I did ask for the reason and the server was kind enough to explain the Nightclub zoning. With the formalities out of the way we proceeded to order our tea and soda and take a look at the menu. When he came back, I asked our server for a recommendation and he recommended the Smoked Ribeye Cheesesteak. I mean, he had me at jalapeño havarti sauce. I also ordered the Pretzel & Beer Cheese which was fantastic. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very friendly and informative. My friend and I didn't take advantage of any of the board games, pool tables or ping pong. We decided just to talk and enjoy our food. The Pretzel & Beer Cheese was top notch, I"m a sucker for Beer Cheese regardless, but having it made from jalapeño havarti was especially nice. The Pretzel was warm, soft and fantastic. I'm so glad I took the server's advice on the Smoked Ribeye Cheesesteak. The meat was moist and delicious and the mushroom and onions were perfect accompaniments. While a bit messy, it was still enjoyable. The Southern Slaw was nothing to write home about, not bad, just unmemorable. The Pork Rinds however were hot, crisp and delicious. They are so good they have them listed on their menu twice :-). I'd like to say I'll be back, but as a parent of three kids it's doubtful as we normally eat dinner as a family. This is a local sports bar and ONLY ALLOWS people 21 and over, which was different but also very relaxing without children crying or stressed out parents trying to entertain them. I got bbq chicken sandwich, Alabama white bbq sauce was delicious. My husband got a smash burger, he said he would've liked more onion straws on it and it was a burger. Our friends got a cheeseburger and said it was good and the wings which were smoked which were delicious. Had to come back... actually came the 2 nights I was in town :). Food was amazing!!! Currently doing keto so they were very accommodating. I come to Greenville from Charleston what seems like monthly. Somehow, I always end up at Local Cue. Somehow, I have never reviewed it. I've had everything from a salad to fried chicken skins. The scene: set in a shopping center off of Haywood. Easy access to I-26, as well as Downtown and Mauldin. The inside contains a large bar area, some game tables, darts, and several tables of varying sizes to sit and eat. I have dined alone at the bar, eaten on a group of 10, and a small duo. All have felt comfortable. Bouncers guard the door and check ID for 21+. The food: never had a bad thing. From pork skins to chicken skins. Salad to pulled pork. Wings. You name it. It's all great. Drinks are fairly priced. Ample beer and liquor menu. Service: spot on. Quick and convenient. No one pesters you yet drinks stay full. My go to in GVL. See ya next week. read more

My first visit here was lunchtime on a Friday. The restaurant is quite large and has an upscale sports bar feel to it. Of course, as noted you have to be 21 to enter and they do make a big deal of having everyone show their identification even if it is unquestionable obvious that you are over 21. If you look at their website they have a clear mission: 'Local Cue's mission is to provide an inviting and exciting getaway from everyday Life or to Break the Ice with your coworkers. We combine menu selection, atmosphere, ambiance, service, and Operation to create a sense of nostalgia in order to reach our goal of overall value in a dining and entertainment experience. Local Cue is the place to Connect 4 beer, BBQ, and board games." I corrected about 4 spelling and grammatical errors in their statement, but it seems that they are pulling off what they intended to do. Since this is my first and only visit, and we came specifically for the wings, this review is based only on that experience. I got the ten wings with a side order of tots. The wings are meaty and with skin but no breading. They are called "house jumbo smoked wings" and live up to the size expectation. The skin is well rendered of fat by the smoking process and the wings either have a bit of sugar on them or perhaps were brined before smoking. The order comes with three sauce options, I chose Carolina gold, Alabama white sauce, and hot sauce, but the surprise is that the wings do not need any sauce at all. The flavor and texture of the wings with the smokiness and slight sweet/saltiness is in good balance and the sauce, while good, takes away from the wing rather than adding another dimension. Side note, based on these wings alone I must return to try the ribs. The tater tots were excellent, but the basket of tots is enough for four people. The exterior of the tot is a nice crispness, indicating the right oil temperature (hot). They did not have any of that unappealing sogginess. The interior was nice and soft in contrast to the crunch and there is a slight bit of spicy heat accompanying these tots. They might be my new favorite tots, dethroning Sonic tots. The only real downside to me is that I have 3 teenaged boys and we just can't come here due to the 21 rule. read more

Saw this place had 4.5 stars so i thought this is the place.... and since i had skipped lunch due heavy workload i figured i could eat the whole rack of ribs lol. So I ordered the whole rack and an app of frickes...i did the online order which went pretty smooth, just wish they had some desert options... but hey, first time trying them so lets concentrate on the entree's. This place was about 6 minutes from the hotel so i knew the food would still be piping hot. When placing the online order it tells you what time it will be ready, thought this was pretty cool. My dinner would be ready in exactly 35 minutes... pretty cool. So 10 minutes before it was ready i drove to the place... not being from South Carolina i was caught off guard by the door guy... yep had to prove i was 21 to enter... now either i did NOT see that on the web page or it was not states you would be carded to go in....(that could have been bad if i was 20) but anyway inside i went. Bar staff was nice and friendly and food was ready when stated. So when i cracked open the 3 plates of food i was surprised to see all that food... one plate was the sides, roasted potatoes and bacon wrapped corn on the cob.. the corn was a little strange but ok... the frickles were more salty than most but ok... now on to the star... the ribs.... they have a dry rub on them and to me the spices were just ok at best.. nothing to write home to mom about... they do give you a small cup of sauce to go with it, and that was a big spicy but good. All in all this places food was good but not the 4.5 stars i was hoping on. read more

This is the coolest freaking place for adults to hang out. I loved it. My cousins from out of town were in for our grandfathers funeral. We wanted a place for us adults to spend some time and have some fun. We normally don't have that opportunity. I am so glad we chose Local Cue!! It's open and well lit. There are tons of games to play from corn hole, ping pong, darts, shuffleboard, and pool. There is also literally every flipping board game ever made it seems. You just sit where you want and several staff members just walk around and check on you. When you get there you set up your tab and you can just move around. As all of the staff are your server it doesn't matter where you go they all just ask your name. Add it to your tab and you just settle up at the end. It's a really cool concept. We were there for 5 hours and never once were board and had a heck of a time. I will definitely be back and if you want a cool place to have some adult fun. We ordered, for pick up, 20 wings and a side of fries w/o BBQ rub, a side of fried with the rub, and an order of tator tots. We didn't realize the fries/tots orders were so large, we could've fed a family of 5! But this just shows that you get a lot of food for what you're paying. The wings were sooooo so good. They were cooked perfectly and were even better in the many choices of sauces you can choose from. The sauce list was a little overwhelming since I'm no sauce connoisseur. Who knew there were 5 different types of BBQ sauces. They unfortunately did not have just normal honey BBQ, which I thought was odd. I'm unsure of what sauces we even chose but most of them were really good. Highly suggest their wings!!! Next time I'm in town, I would want to dine in.
