I'm not a tea person but this is the place that I do come to get tea, witches brew is one of my favorites, today I went to try the lime-aid tea , and the Spanish latte iced , it's always good, make sure to checkout their storefront so much variety especially if you're looking for a gift

Local Fixture is a unique and interesting store filled with lots of goodies. This spot is located in the heart of Uptown Whittier where they have their own parking lot in the back. Inside, they have a plant-filled section, a home decor and books section, and then their own coffee shop tucked away on the side as well. This is definitely a fun place to peruse around as they have so much ranging from plants, books, home decor, plushies, sports memorabilia, and more. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. If you are ever in the area, you should stop by and you will not leave empty-handed!

1st time visiting the new location I can't say, I liked it The old location was vibrant,well lit & had a welcoming vibe. This location amongst walking in, was very dark & not 1 plant in sight was bright & blooming. Just looked cluttered!Overlooked the menu in their coffee area, just to see what they offered. Will maybe order a matcha next time & croissant cookie looked yummy!

First and last time coming here I was so excited because of the hype. I ordered their matcha and it was a 0/10. Watered down, grainy, and quality of it sucks.

First time back since they moved to the new location. Absolutely love the place! Lots of goodies to shop for and I love how they support small businesses. The coffee I got was amazing, the only downfall was that I had a migraine when I went there in hopes of caffeine could make it go away. This place is so nice and I can't wait to go back. I frequent this store occasionally after my cycling class next-door at Drip. On this particular visit, I purchased a gift item on a Thursday, in time for a Tuesday birthday. I had the gift wrapped (which is such a nice touch that the store offers), and I gave it to the recipient who put it on her head. Suddenly, the letters on the headband broke off. I went to Local Fixture the following Thursday after spin class to see if there were any options for me as a consumer, and the associate relayed that the store doesn't take back accessory returns due to sanitary reasons (which is understandable). I explained to her though that it was a quality issue more so than a sanitary issue, but she said that the person who rang me up should've relayed to me that the item was final sale on top of it being printed on the receipt (which I did manage to access deep within a link of the texted e-receipt). As I didn't even catch the fine print, I wish the associate would have verbalized this to me as I may have had a second thought about purchasing. This incident led me to think back to two years ago when I bought a hair clip from the store that fell apart right when I came home and I didn't think of returning it because it was clear it wasn't good quality and I figured Local Fixture being a boutique, that it was an automatic loss for me for sanitation reasons alone. However, this time as my purchase being a gift, and the store priding itself as purveyor of all things ecclectic and giftable, I was terribly disappointed that I wasn't even extended store credit to buy something else. The recipient was out of a gift and I, stuck with a defective item. There's probably not a return policy that exists that would serve as an effective safeguard for both the consumer and a small business, but sometimes I wish as a small town store they would care to act in more of a small town manner and in limited circumstances, look at purchases through the lens of a consumer (only where it is warranted). There could be a couple of exceptions in the name of customer retention and satisfaction. I'm contradicting myself because I will continue frequenting Local Fixture because I need my knee high Kobe socks and my Selena sippee cup for the kiddos, in my life. However, I think in the name of "sanitary" the final sales policy could apply to practically everything in the store, so buy with caution.

First time here easy to locate, ample parking music was on point. Variety of Gift items, literally something for everyone, pictures do don't justice. So much to see, walked into their little cafe area, sitting area available, customer service was A-plus felt very welcomed ! Card only !!!! Thank you Local Fixture Had the Pumpkin Spice Latte Hot chocolate Super yummy will return again !!

Look,I think this is a great place! I've been a regular costumer, but today, my heart broke. It's a cool accessory store and a welcome addition to Whittier. Great store, I always find the perfect gift for friends and family. I bought my son a beautiful black leather & canvas duffle bag for a graduation gift and I've bought numerous candles. Their candles have a long burning time. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend this store for anyone who likes good quality products and unique gifts. Love the atmosphere, the staff and the unique merch here! The coffee bar was awesome, they gave me samples before I made my choice. They carried stumptown coffee- beans and cold brew too! They were so gracious and welcoming with allowing my dog to come in with me on a really hot day. It's not a "cheap" place, definitely a place for more thoughtful, moderately priced gifts. The music was mellow, the decor was homey and they encourage browsing. They gift wrapped my items simply but with precision (which I appreciate). They have a points system where you can earn free stuff. It's kind of off the beaten path which is also nice. Highly recommend!! read more

This is the best store in life! Every time I walk inside I want to buy something because they have so many cool items. They have items that any other store won't normally have. Finally a cute boutique that's not at a mall! I'm a person who loves supporting small businesses... And even more a small business that understands their community. As a Santa Fe Springs/Whittier resident I appreciate the detail LF has put in to their store to make their residents feel welcome...Everything from the pool table, the kids corner to Stumpton coffee! The environment is Anthropologie meets Urban Outfitters meets The Ace Hotel meets the culture of the current 20-30 something's of our neighborhood. Highly recommend this shop if you're strolling through uptown or if you need a great gift idea. read more

Update review: removing two stars. It's hard to get them on the phone and I've messaged them on Instagram as well to ask a simple question about a product and they NEVER reply. So far they've lost my business twice. Bad customer service. Previous post: Custore to buy a gift or something unique for yourself. It has a Urban Outfitters feel to it and love the big windows out front, gives the store lots of light. You can find anything from soaps, books, birthday cards, baby clothes, perfume and so much more. read more

Just moved to Whittier and bumped into this cute store during my walk. Extremely cute and I will definitely come here for cute unique gifts. It is pretty overpriced so like one reviewer said, it better be a good close friend or relative who you're shopping for here. I didn't have a chance to try the cafe portion but, it looked good. Went there for the first time yesterday. As a grad student I'm always on the hunt for a good local spot to do homework that serves amazing coffee, pastries, has free wifi and has plenty of electrical plugs for all my devices. This is a really cool boutique that's very well curated. If you're looking to buy any of the trendy/popular brands right now, this is a good spot. Patagonia, Stance, Stanley, Hydroflask, Fjallraven -- to name a few. It comes up on some apps as a coffee shop. They brew Stumptown beans and they have a small fridge with bottled beverages. I haven't tried the coffee here (Lift is right down the street, so...), but it's not the kind of place you sit and drink coffee at. If you're just looking to pick up coffee while walking around the downtown area, this is probably perfect. read more

Seriously the cutest of cute places! The coffee is a soft open for now, so not everything is fully equipped (i.e. Wifi & indoor seating), but it is the loveliest place. As someone who visits a new coffee shop nearly every week, this is one you won't want to miss. read more

This place is great. The coffee and pastries in the cafe are so good. They have Donut Snob donuts on Fridays and Saturdays-Yum! Also the general store is really cool although everything is definitely full price. Every once in awhile though I'll grab a book or a little something for my little girls who love this place too. From the moment you step inside, it's clear that the owners put their heart & soul into a venture that was executed perfectly. In a pinch & need to pick out a gift that shows time & effort? Look no further. Looking for one of a kind items for yourself (handbags, candles, jewelry, men's specialty items, books, and a million other items I'm forgetting), this is your spot. Just plain tired at the thought of driving 15+ miles to visit/window shop one of a kind shops? Welp, you don't have to anymore. And while I haven't visited on a weekend yet, it sounds like a place worth visiting between the coffee, piano & beer & overall ambience. The owners? Very welcoming but let you shop. Now, that might sound expected, but just last week I visited a very similar store in Pasadena was not even be greeted. Not a lot I can say about this hidden gem that hasn't already been said but I will say this: If you're like a lot of Whittier residents who are frustrated with the lack of quality stores in the area, support this business. It's a win-win(-win?)for customer, owner & Whittier community. read more

We were founded on one very simple premise, a great store should make you feel at home. Equal parts store, coffee counter, and community hangout, Local Fixture is a throwback to simpler times. There's not much to it really, we're a family of Whittier locals who designed and curated our space around the things we love. For us it's all about encouraging community and kinship.

Meet the Business Owner: Jason C.

My inspiration for Local Fixture came from interesting retail shops I visited in cities like Downtown Claremont, Abbot Kinney in Venice, Old Town Pasadena and as a resident of Whittier, I wanted to bring that vibe and retail experience to Uptown Whittier and create a community feel around my store.

I can't recommend this local gem enough! I visit daily for their excellent coffee and enjoy their workshops on freshness and different coffee types. Besides coffee, they have a cute selection of gift items, clothing, books, and jewelry that keep changing, so it never gets boring.
