Shoppin' to me is like offerin' me the D- I have little interest in it. One day when I be waitin' on a friend, I roll through this joint. I'm thinkin', why these mofos be offerin' me beer and coffee? Did I just get slapped with the pretty stick? Or is John Quinones gonna roll up on me from that show "What would you do?" Naw, these foo-s cool. We just shot the breeze like we be on someone's porch. Then some maestro started playing live classic piano on their piano and the whole experience was like out of the movie The Great Gatsby. Somehow, we discuss my business of delivering dry goods. I got schooled in the latest fashion trends for men and the owner helped me pick out a nice Filson bag, some fine shaving gel, and a little something for the baby momma and kids. I'm not a shopper, but if I had to go again, the experience would be like the experience I had a LF. Now if they could stock some men's wear and firearms, I'd be delighted. read more

This place was great! Had dinner reservations at Phlight and unexpectedly came across this place. They have some great unique, high quality items (you won't find them anywhere else around here) and the prices were reasonable. The staff and owners were super friendly and welcoming. now this is what you call a gem in the city of whittier! i stumbled across this store as me and my buddy were in search of some food. the store is in the old edison electric building, full vintage, nicely redone. its rare for whittier to have a modern , store that has full general goods for the family. awesome soaps, postcards, accessories, socks for gifts! even coffee!! its refreshing for whittier definitely welcoming a new crowd. 6 visits so far, bought something for everything including myself! 2 woven button ups from a local whittier company called " Wolf & Man" shopping local is important to me, the community reflects on what sort of person you are! local fixture is definitely a lovely addition !! 5 STARS!! read more

This store is a hidden gem! So many cute little trinkets. Think anthropology meets urban outfitters. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Friday night while waiting for a dinner reservation. The boys working were super sweet, offering help if needed. I was really drawn to some of their great scented candles, cute original birthday cards and an amazing jewelry table. Everything is reasonably priced and if you check in on yelp they'll give you a 10% discount! I purchased an adorable necklace which I haven't taken off since I bought it! Love. read more

Hands down one of the best stores in Whittier. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They are always doing in store events that really gets the community involved. The store itself is beautiful and they carry an assortment of unique items for the whole family. If you haven's had a chance to visit the Local Fixture I suggest you do so as soon as you can. I can't express how much I love this place. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. It's a great place to grab a gift for any occasion. They have a full wall of greeting cards that you just can't find anywhere else. However, I love shopping for myself here too. They have a great selection of jewelry and accessories. If you have the time you should definitely take one of their wellness classes, yoga is my favorite and they have a class everyday. The teachers are great and I usually enjoy the class more other yoga studios. If you're short on time, you can always stop by and grab a coffee and tea. They have monthly speciality drinks, but the regular menu is great. My go-to's are the sweet bee or the chai latte. Overall, great environment and great staff! read more

I usually come here for coffee with my sister and son. Anytime we do it takes a bit so I walk around the store and look at what's new and the unique items they are selling. Unfortunately it also never fails that every time I am just browsing after even buying a drink there are 1 or 2 girls following me and my son around the store. I mean I understand that it's hard when you have a store to judge who is who. But please I come here often enough, I have my son, and all I am carrying around is a wallet. . Sooo? At least if you are going to follow someone around while they look why don't you ask them if they have questions or need help. After my most recent encounter of this when I had my husband and son and we were followed after ordering coffee I refuse to come back. I was looking for some socks and had way more than enough to choose from! Their selection of men hair grooming caught my eye and I knew I wasn't leaving without some pomade, too bad I knew absolutely nothing about which to pick. The employees were extremely helpful though, and I am happy with what they helped me select! This a great place to stop in and find some unique gifts for anyone big or small. Stopped by to pick up the Celia book and complete my son's Lil Libros collection and also snagged a s'mores donut for my little love as well as a matcha donut and medium mocha latte for me! The tables outside are perfect place to enjoy a snack with a toddler, it's safe but also provides some space away from all the super cute but fragile items in the store. Visually the store is VERY appealing from the overall look and feel of the store to the actual employees. Toss in the fact that this seems to be the only place in Uptown Whittier to get a nice COLD BREW coffee and I am sold. Employees always make good recommendations (even though they may have never used a product) case in point I bought some beard balm and the employee helping me was some smooth baby faced kid he was rather helpful and knew the product though. I ended up digging the Beard Balm (Uppercut Beard Balm) so since then I have been back. Its really Urban Outfitter-esque except I don't feel like a d-bag when I walk out of there. read more

Definitely the coolest shop in Uptown. Lots of cool little gifts, clothing, collectibles, and books. I don't know how to sum up everything the shop has: men's hair products, coffee and tea carafes and mugs, Patagonia gear, Whittier specific clothing. And also a cafe. The narrow open air bar seating area is a really cool touch. I hope Local Fixture can be one of the landmarks setting the tone to an improving Uptown Whittier. read more

What a gem to find in my home town! Having moved back here from the Alhambra area, I was always disappointed I could find a place that had the same selection of gifts and goods I could easily find in Old Town Pasadena. Local fixture is a great place with a hip vibe that brings what I'm used to closer to home. Now I don't have to drive 30 minutes to find unique gifts for friends and myself. Walked in here before dinner next door and was pleasantly surprised by the store that I had to come back the next day to do a little shopping. This is a must see place if you're in Whittier.
