Great small town place! The name says it all - Local Folks Restaurant & Pub lol. It really was filled with mostly local folks. Service was local friendly, you know, the "what can I get you, hon?" kind. Love it! We went on a Friday with a group of friends. Hubby got the Friday Night Fish Fry with fries. The fish is all you can eat, and you can get both beer battered or baked cod. They were not stingy with the portions! And it didn't take 30 minutes in between to get more, so all the guys on the table (they all got the fish lol) were super happy. Hubby says it wasn't out of the world delicious, but pretty good, as were the fries. I mean, he had like 3 portions of the fish. I got the strip steak prepared with garlic butter and salad and mashed potatoes. Hubby had the mashed potatoes, which were good. Salad was very fresh, with a side of dressing as I had asked. Nothing spectacular, but I hate it when you see wilted veggies on a salad and this one was crispy fresh. The steak was market priced, but reasonable, under $15. I'm not sure what cut of meat they used, but it wasn't the most tender or fatty. I should have asked before asking for a medium well - had I known, I would have gone medium rare. Garlic butter was delicious. A friend had the same steak with sautéed mushrooms, and it looked juicier than mine. But probably tasted about the same haha. Overall, a nice casual place to hang out with family and friends. Great vibes and happy service.

Ordered steak medium rare, thing was like cardboard! Worse Bloody ever, Never use premix for a good Bloody Mary!! Won't be back!

Ordered steak medium rare, thing was like cardboard! Past well done, Worse Bloody ever, Never use premix for a good Bloody Mary!! Won't be back! She did take $5 off my bill for the steak. I barely drank the Bloody Mary it was that bad! She did tell me a head of time it was pre-mixed, I should have gotten something else. Learn how to make a real Bloody Mary and you'll sell more of them!

Heard about this place through the grapevine. Off the beaten path, but well worth the find. Went here on a Friday afternoon for a quick bite. I call it a local bar/café, with rustic roots. Anyway, started out with a Bloody Mary (perfectly made), and had a Liene side car. Soup of the day was beer cheese. Excellent flavor! Had their fish fry and it did not disappoint. Three pieces of deep-fried cod, golden french fries, and coleslaw. My girlfriend had a beautiful cob salad, garnished with bacon, egg, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and fresh mushrooms. Reasonably priced items! Our server was very cordial and was very attentive. Not very much lot parking, but some on the street.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast options that fit my flavor palate, which is fairly simple and focused on quality over quantity. I really enjoy the food and wait-staff at Local Folks.

We have been trying to find a local place for breakfast for 5 years and nothing! So the other day we were sitting around the lake and I started asking everyone for suggestions and Old Folks came up. So my wife and I went on a quest to find Old Folks on the Old Hwy 50. We could not find a phone number or even address for this place. So we decided to use our Smart Phones. We were able to use our technology and zoom into a map of the area and then I saw something called Local Folks on the map. Of course, all of the locals had the name wrong. As soon as we walked in we were so excited to have breakfast here. This is our new place and the prices were amazing. They also have a kids menu too which is really nice. I highly recommend the Silver Dollar Pancakes...it makes it fun for them to eat. I had the Eggs Benedict Sandwich...which was Wisconsin Style...smothered with cheese...I had to use a fork and knife to eat it. It was really good. My wife had the hashbrowns with veggies...they were really good. We also had some biscuits and gravy for desert. Oh yeah and the bill was cheap too!!! Everything was amazing...check out my photos for some of the breakfast dishes. We will definately be coming back here. Also our waitress was really friendly too and she seemed like she had been busting her ass off since 6am...we got there at 10:30am on a Saturday. This place also has lunch and dinner too and a full bar when you walk in. We did not try any of this but we did notice that there was a Bloody Mary Special on Sunday...so we may have to try that out!

How cool is this spot?! Fortunately, we were able to reserve a table at the last minute. First,…read moreambience. Real candles, classic blues and jazz music, plus lots of antique flair oozing historic vibes. A retro phone booth for the server station: nice! Next, service: Brooke is the server who now sets the standard in my mind for her excellent tableside manner! She was on the ball and then some, with a fun personality and friendly demeanor, making sure we enjoyed our night out. I loved the menus, both food and drinks. I tried a Citrine martini and it was ice cold with fresh lemon -- yum. My dining companion had a seasonal tap brew and the perch fish fry; he ate every bite! I had to try the shrimp and grits. It's not something you see on the menu every day in Wisconsin, but I have a love for it from trips down South... And they nailed it. Fragrant with garlic and generously portioned, it had a brothy, exquisite base. It makes my mouth water to recall! We will return for some of the other delicious items on the menu. Thanks for a great evening!

Started out with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Very fresh, and the cocktail sauce was tangy with a citrus undertone. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and the glaze only added to them. Plenty of beautiful side dishes, omelet station, and other tasty dishes, complimented them! Bottomless mimosas on the house! If you had room, which I didn't, the pastry assortment was outstanding. The staff were very cordial and accommodating.
