We had a very bad experience with their service. After multiple visits over the years to service my garage door springs, I recently had another contractor inspect the system and was informed that two springs had been installed incorrectly. According to their assessment, this likely contributed to my garage door motor burning out. When I contacted Local Garage Doors, they declined to take responsibility, citing that the work was just outside the warranty period by about two months. There was no offer to address the spring issue or provide any compensation for the damaged motor. They kept sending reminder texts for yearly services. And whey my garage door does need one, they're the first one popping up. Good advertising strategy I have to admit. The actual service, however, not so good. The "professional" promised the service will reduce noise, which it didn't. I have security cam facing garage door, and let them hear the noise before and after, and they kept saying it's much better, to the level of insulting my intelligence. I ended up paying much more for more parts replaced as they recommended, noise was still there after. That's when I stopped trying to work with them on the project. When the "professional" wrapped up the work with a call to their office with speaker accidentally/intentionally on, I can't help overhear that they lady openly disregard/insulted me, before knowing what's going on with the project. The "professional" does not even bother I'm there. So yeah, once customer has paid, they're done with the work and do whatever they want. Downgrading rating to 3 since I still consider the first service good. But I'll definitely not be a returning customer anymore. Also the company hires outside contractors, my this service is one. Poor Quality of work, After paying $650 plus for repairs to the garage door rails, cables and pulley I have to call them the very next day because the door still wasn't working, only closing partially. I was not sure if I should post or not, but after some thought others should know. We purchased a new garage door and installed with new tracking and every upgrade that was recommended at time of install by them (after original quote). Just one year and one week after install the garage failed and came crashing down after the wheels fell off tracking system like a domino effect. They came out the next day and quoted us almost $800 to fix although we have a life time warranty. The warranty is apparently only for parts and not labor (there was nothing structurally wrong with door or parts). The labor was going to be $800. After letting the technician (which I really like and have NO problems with) know that is disappointing he was able to bring cost down a bit more. I asked to talk to a manager which was unavailable that day, but needed it fixed ASAP as a potential danger to kids and pets as it was hanging on by a wire (literally). We proceeded with it being reinstalled. The manager called me the next day and said she spoke to the technician that fixed it and he was "not sure" if it was an original install issue or something happened to it as they have never seen something like this before. She said it could have been cause by "extreme weather". We live in Morgan Hill, there is no extreme weather conditions that can cause this. Nonetheless, she knocked another $99 off and it would be refunded. Two weeks later the garage door started to "jump" every time we closed it and the wheel poles in some areas were bent. I called them back out and the same technician came out and realized a clip holding in one of the pins to a bracket they installed originally was missing this entire time causing the door to shift. They still continued to charge us over $500 for the door to be fixed and have taken no responsibility. Super disappointed. I had already recommended them to two different people in that time span which at least one used them for a new door. See pics of door down, wheel bent after original fixing, and the third one after he reinstalled a component reinstalled with the clip necessary to support the pin. Please note the technician that came out for both repairs was not the original installer. The repairer, (I believe Justin), was courteous and sympathetic. I was and have been seriously concerned after the fall from door for my families and pets safety. When things start bad, the result will be worse. First I called for an appointment. And I got a timeframe between 11am-1pm ... nobody showed up and they did not even call back. I called to let them know and I was rescheduled for another day from 2-4pm. The day of the appointment, I called to make sure somebody will arrive and I was told the technician was finishing a show and will be here in 30 minutes. 45 minutes later, I called and ai was told that the technician was 3 minutes away from me. It took one more hour for the guy to appear. Once he arrive, it was worst. I explained him that I only needed to get the garage motor reprogrammed. He did not even looked at the motor, he just said that there was noway to open that and it needed to be replaced by a new one at nearly $850. I told him at least check it, bring a ladder and look it - you only need yo reprogrammed. Again he said it was not possible as it can't be opened. Suddenly, my cousins appeared and told him - hey these 2 screws can helped you yo open and work on it. Clearly he did not have any experience working on garage doors or just wanted to ripped us off. I asked to leave and send his quote as I did not have time for this. Careful with this company - I don't recommend them at all. The entire handle literally pulled off of our garage door. One tech, Andre, convinced us that we needed to replace the entire door. He seemed knowledgeable. The one who actually showed up made it sound as if he didn't know why we were getting a new garage door. Maybe, we should have just had the one panel replaced. Anyway, when the tech left, I was unable to close my door because it appeared that the sensors were broken, AND he forgot to put on the manual handle.
