Our home warranty company contracts with them, and I was initially nervous that having only one option (more or less) would be bad, but it went great. Matt is tremendously nice and helpful - he clarifies a lot of the minutia of dishwasher repair easily and does a thorough job. The company is locally and family run and seems to have a great track record. He could've upsold us on a new dishwasher, but he showed us that ours just needed a new part and that some new ones are crappy anyway. PS - he is vaccinated! read more

My fridge was not cooling and the freezer section had ice buildup along inside of the rubber gasket of the fridge door. I called four different appliance repair companies; Matt was the only one who answered my call on a holiday! He came the next day, looked at my fridge and said the problem most likely is due to ice buildup at the back. Before providing any expensive solutions, he suggested that I power down my fridge, leave the doors open for 3-5 days until everything dries completely. If that doesn't fix the issue, then we will address the rubber gasket issue. He even suggested that I could store my food in a bin outside since I did not have a second fridge. Now my fridge is working beautifully without any issue, I did not even need to replace the rubber gasket on the freezer! I REALLY LOVED the fact that he suggested a no-cost solution first, which saved me a bunch of money! Unlike some other contractors who would jump at a chance of charging you for things that you don't even need, Matt was conscious about making sure you don't spend unnecessarily. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, explained everything in detail and knew what the problem was right away! Best part is, he is very reasonable, efficient and puts customers first. I am really shocked at the negative reviews. We have used Matt for years. He has kept all of our appliances running and has saved us quite a bit of money in the process. He would recommend what repairs to do and what not based on the cost and value of the machine. I really felt he was looking out for my wallet, and I believe he was. I called when our refrigerator was not cooling. Matt came the same day, during the time window he quoted me. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained it to me. Since the refrigerator was about 10 years old, we decided to go ahead with the repair since it was a simple fix with a reasonably priced part. Too bad zero stars isn't an option. We've called Matt out many times and this will be the last time we ever call Local Home Appliance. We called Matt to service our washing machine. He proceeded to tell us how awful our laundry room was set up (it's small and has to house 4 appliances - we didn't design it this way, it came with the house!) and that we should buy a new water heater and put it on the wall. We just replaced the hot water heater a few months ago. He said he would have to put our dryer in the kitchen before he could even take a look at the washer. He charged $75 for the trip charge, told us it was ok to use and the washer was dead 3 days later. TOTAL waste of money calling Matt. read more
