Let me start by saying, I do not live in Tucker. What a beautiful downtown! Unfortunately,it does not appear that Tucker is going to be a destination for eating anytime soon. Ironic that the name of the restaurant is named, in part, after the local railroad. Why? Because we felt like we got railroaded with subpar service and wait time. Let that be a cautionary tale at this "Local" restaurant. Overwhelmed and understaffed we ordered three burgers, tenders, a chix sand, and a veggie burger half of which came out almost ten minutes ahead of the burgers! I think the food server was so embarrassed that she was hesitant to even make eye contact with us. Someone, who was finished with their meal had to get up from the table to inquire about the rest of us. The server was left to fend for herself and apologize. No table check by a manager or recognition that they blew it. Yes, they were busy! It was a promotional night for a local school. A great idea for a restaurant on what is historically a slow night in the restaurant business. It cost them our business permanently. On what was over a $100 bill collectively, it would have been nice if someone acknowledged that our experience was not typical. Without that we were left with one of two conclusions? 1. It was typical and unless you have an inordinate amount of time to hang out for burgers with fries we suggest you keep driving down Main Street or 2. They did not care. These are the kind of experiences that for a business that is targeting young families (we had 2 under 5) or young professionals will soon have them catching the next train out of Tucker. On a positive, the burger was great but to be honest, after the wait? Just about anything would have been satisfying. read more

Ive been to this place a few times. The atmosphere is pretty good. The "woo woo" shot for $2 is fun when a train rolls by on the nearby tracks. I also love that they have sweetwater ipa on draft for under $15 a pitcher. The food is just average so don't go expecting too much. As a warning, they tend to overcook burgers. I was so excited when this place opened in Tucker. We really need establishments in the area that serve drinks and something other than pizza. However, after two visits, I'm sadly disappointed. I really want to like Local 7. I really want to help them succeed by going there regularly. But the food is expensive for what you get. It's very mediocre. On both visits my black bean burger has been burned. Charred even. Several of the people with us also had burgers & buns that were burned. And I'm sorry but if you expect a child to eat a BLACK grilled cheese sandwich, you will not be in business long. The tater tots seemed to be overcooked too, and dried out. Service is friendly enough, and the atmosphere is good. Best thing i've seen so far here is the shot special when the train comes by. In the future, I think I will only consider going here for happy hour, and not dinner. read more

Decided to try this place out in downtown Tucker. The place was nearly empty with only 4 other customers during "Happy Hour" . We had to listen to the bored staff's banter the entire time there. Right off the bat, we noticed how expensive the beer prices were. Like "strip club" expensive. You had a choice of 12 oz. Or 16 oz. Draught beers. 12oz Fat Tire? Really? It comes in cans larger than 12 oz now. After looking at the menu, which reminded me of hotel "room service" prices, I had many questions. Wings will set you back about $10, for 10. No, I am not joking. After asking, I was told they come with only celery. This is by far, the highest price I have ever seen for wings. Other places at least give you fries too for that much money. Every burger on the menu seemed to have some other thing piled onto it (chili, ham, stew, even pulled pork). They seemed to love adding a fried egg to whatever they can as well. If I worked in this kitchen, I would turn to my co-workers and scream "TA-DAAA!!!" Every time this happened. It seems everybody is trying to cram burgers down your throat with all these "boutique" burger joints popping up everywhere. My guess is the only way to top them is to literally "top" them. Well after picking a burger with grilled jalapenos, with the fries, still no happy hour rush. It was about 6:30 now. Our burgers were tasty, but the prices still tainted the experience. My other choice would have been the Fish 'n Chips ($12, and I was very glad these Americans properly called them "chips" and not "French Fries"). I did get to taste the Fish 'n Chips, when I finished, because there were many little burnt particles at the bottom of my basket from the fryer. The burger was nicely cooked, and full of flavor. But, again the prices were a point of contention. After we finished eating, we decided to have our next beer someplace else. Our bill was almost $70 for 2 burgers and 3 beers each! HOLY.... This place reminds me or The Grove on La Vista, for their "nickel-and-diming" menu, and silly pricing. At least The Grove is now established, and is a better place to see a game. Local no. 7 can't offer even that. I understand if you don't want to be a "sports bar", but be honest. There are a bajillion other places that look similar, don't care what they are called, and serve great food at fair prices. There is absolutely nothing exclusive about this place, and it has no redeeming "local hangout" quality about it. It's just an overpriced attempt to be one. You need Locals for that to happen. 7:05 and still only 4 more people came in. read more

The space and ambiance is very well done. The owners did a great job building the place out. Service is average and the employees seem bored and uninspired. Menu is nicely done but execution of menu items only average. Fries and Tots not crisp enough. They claim 1/2 pound burgers but that are somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 lb. Definitely not 1/2 pound. Cuban is awful. Pulled pork average. French Dip pretty good. We need a place like this in Tucker and have for a very long time - not sure this place will make it. If it served high end bar food at the prices they ask it might have a chance. read more

I went for a late lunch during the week over the holidays. Service was good and unobtrusive. I had the best Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten in my entire life. The bread was crisp. The sandwich was hot. The pickles and mustard/sauce were perfectly sour. The meat was abundant. Total deliciousness!!! I ate the whole sandwich, and usually I would have taken half home, but it was so good, I almost asked for another to go. The sandwich came with an entire package of Tater Tots as a side. They were very crispy, but there were so many. So Very Many. They added nothing to the sandwich, either. A small green salad would have been a nice option instead. read more

As residents of Tucker, we were happy to have an establishment open up locally that provides decent beer, food and service. One of the owners, Louis, is always friendly and works to "make it right" if you've had a less-than-pleasurable experience. The chicken fingers are so yummy! Very crispy, lightly seasoned, juicy inside. They used to have a great meatloaf as well, but have discontinued it. Fish and chips could use some spicing up- extremely bland on the batter. The burgers are great (nice and juicy) and we like the option of tater tots instead of fries. They have more than your run-of-the-mill beer selection, although would love to see even more craft beer selection. The decor is casual and comfortable and service is typically great. read more

The food is ok. The seating arrangement is horrible. If you come in with a party of more than four, you will have a hard time finding a table. They let two people sit at six top booths which leaves groups with nowhere to sit. The waiter says, "seat yourselves". Um, there isn't anywhere to sit, lady! read more

The wife and I stopped by the third night they were open. Had a GREAT time! Food was great, but a little slow; growing pains... I had a fried night consisting of their Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Sweet Potatoes, Fried Jalapenos and Fried Dill Pickles. All were wonderful and crunchy!! Wife had the Chicken Salad w/Tater Tots; and very tasty too!! Overall, a wonderful time; and sooo over due in Tucker!!! Met some friends for a second round last weekend around 6:30pm, and they were already packed! There were six of us total. The service was still slow. The food didn't arrive at the same time. The fried pickles were soggy and cold. Had to remind them that one of my sides never made it. Disappointing to say the least. Hopefully this will improve, as we rreeaallllyy want them to succeed!! I wanted to like this place sooo much. Two visits now, both with similar results. Meh! Great location, cool decor and nice vibe. Nothing special by downtown, Decatur, or VaHi standards, but pretty cool for Main Street Tucker. Good selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Interesting menu that offers a couple nice twists on the standard fare. First visit was lunch on a weekday with my wife. The place was 3/4 full, but service was slow. Slow to come to the table, slow to bring the beverages, and slow to bring the food. The server wasn't able, or willing, to offer any recommendations. Hmmm. I had the cuban and my wife had a burger. Both were warm, as if they had been sitting on the pick up counter for a while. Both were dry and slightly overcooked. Tots were good (big fan of tots) but could have been better if they were cooked a few minutes longer. Second visit was a weekday lunch with a couple guys. Again, slow to come to the table, slow to bring the drinks, and she missed on 2 of the 5 beverage orders. One coke when a diet coke was ordered, and one sweet tea when unsweetened was ordered. We got the tot appetizer. It was OK, but dissolved into a mush of tots and toppings shortly after reaching the table. Food took 35 minutes from order to table and she was really confused who got what. We finally said "Just put the food down and we'll sort it out." Granted, there were two large groups in the place. But one of those groups was being served just as we sat down. Everyone agreed that the food was just OK. Nothing tasty, nothing to crave. 3 of our group said they would come back, but only because of the location. A previous reviewer made a really good point. This place needs a soul, a signature dish, something that they are REALLY good at. Make a great burger, a great homemade dessert, a great soup. Make SOMETHING that your customers will crave and return for. Planning to try one more time for dinner tonight, unless they have made some significant progress, it will be my last visit. read more

The Local was packed when I was there as well but we were sat as soon as a table came available. We started with a monster stack. This appetizer is big enough to serve as a full meal for two. Doggy bagged the second half as we had entrees. I had the Reuben and my brother had a burger. Both were very tasty and large portions and a good value. They have a very large menu of pub food. Will post again when I get to go back. They have quite a large beer selection as well. One offering motivated my brother to give me a 20 minute explanation of his love for high gravity beers, although I don't recall what he was drinking. We go here a couple times a month or so with our 2 year old and the staff is always awesome, friendly, and helpful. It's probably one of the only cool places in Tucker and I feel that justifies the somewhat higher prices you may find closer to Atlanta. Still worth it though as the food is delicious. I usually get the California wrap or the wings and both never disappoint. Someone on here was ripping on the fu manchu dude...his name is Adam and he's actually pretty cool. We've had him as a waiter before and he's super nice and easy going. And as for the risk of a beard hair ending up in the food, I would think the probability of a hair off your own head ending up the food is much higher! Local 7 is better off without their business anyways! Also, one of the guys there (looked to be a manager) pulled an old train set off the top of a cooler for my little guy to play with. He was totally cool and most of the staff there smiles and waves to the tiny as they walk by. All in all, we've taken our parents and grandparents here and everyone had a good time. When it's really busy and full, the wait times may be a bit long, but understood for any restaurant hitting their capacity. I definitely recommend, especially if you have a little boy as at least once during dinner, a cargo train will pass by on the tracks about 100 ft away. Makes for a cool experience. read more

I don't live in Tucker. I had to go to Tucker to meet a friend, and so after the drive I was in the mood for a beer and some food. I asked my friend where I should go and she suggest Local No. 7. I'm not sure what all the haughty complaints about this place are about but I have none. I was able to grab a seat at the bar and watch the Florida game, my bartender was super cool and took good care of me, the beer was cold, delicious, and they had a great selection, and my chili-cheese dog was great. It was exactly what the doctor ordered and all for $15. The train went by while I was there and everybody yelled Whoo0Whoo! and got a $2 shot. What's better than that? I'll tell you what. Nothing. This place is great. I live in a neighborhood that doesn't have a bar like this, so kudos to Tucker and Local No. 7. I'm online looking at houses in Tucker at this very moment. read more

Foodies Beware! Tried this place 4x and it keeps getting worse. My last visit there was this past spring. Tater tots cooked in cheap oil with a chemical aftertaste. Burger bun laid in the grease from the tots, salad is embarrassingly nothing special, chicken soup tastes like watered down canned broth with barely any chicken or anything else in it, Mac n cheese has yellow oil pooled in the bottom of its bowl , fried pickles tasted fried twice in the same cheap tasting oil that they use with the horrible aftertaste. After the 4th waste of $$ I told the manager WHY we would not be coming back (all the above reasons). He seemed inexperienced and disinterested even though he was not busy. Chef overheard me and I talked with him about tasting it and applying some quality control but he was in denial. He said "everyone uses this same oil we do" but I guess he's never eaten out. It's not gonna get any better at this rate so use this place for cocktails only (which were good) and avoid the sickening food. Hope they go outta biz and someone who gives a flip gets the space. Tucker needs a few great small businesses. This one's just taking up prime real estate space on Main Street. read more

I really like this place. It is casual dining. I thought they would only have traditional BBQ but they have a full menu with vegetarian and pescatarian options. I had the salmon BLT on bun with a side salad and my boyfriend had the smoked wings and tots. Both were delicious. I have no complaints about the food. The wings were crispy and meaty and cooked well through. Some people don't like larger meaty wings so that may be an issue depending upon preference. The service was good. The gentleman was friendly, attentive without being obnoxious, and gave me a good recommendation of the salmon BLT. We went for lunch and it wasn't crowded or noisy. I would definitely come back and most likely will order take out as well to try more menu items. So glad I found this place in Tucker. I live in Tucker and hate that I have to go to Decatur or Atlanta to get food. read more

Went here for drinks and dinner with a group of people on a business trip. Waiter was friendly, food was good, drinks were well made. Tater tots, I mean what else do I have to say. Had a chicken lil Jon burger. The egg is a nice touch, the bacon was cooked well, and a perfect sunny side up egg all complimented the juicy grilled chicken well. We moved to North Decatur recently and started eating at Local 7 often because it was 10 minutes away, the food was great, and it's rarely overcrowded with long waits. However, in the past couple of months this restaurant has started going downhill. In expressing my frustration to another local business, I was told that management of Local 7 has changed so maybe that's the difference. Most of the time when we go with either get wings, steak, or a burger with tots or fries. Of the last 3 times we've been, we had horrible service for 2 of them. In those instances, we both ordered steak and fries or tots and the steak always came out cooked wrong. Not tolerably wrong but Medium Rare would come out Medium Well or Medium would come out Rare and we'd have to send it back. This, of course, resulted in one of us watching the other eat while hungry and the other being finished with their food but having to wait around and watch the other eat. Both times the waiter didn't discount us for their mistake. We were just supposed to be happy with it. Then, this Monday we decided to try it again just because we couldn't figure out where else to go. We sat at the bar so our service was good but this time it tasted like the food was cheaper. I ordered a Medium burger but it lacked seasoning and somehow the beef was extremely dry even though it was still pink as it should be. My boyfriend ordered Steak and Tots and the steak came out right but the tots didn't look like tots... they looked like cheap chicken nuggets pellets and weren't as good. I'm not sure what's going on but I hope they get it fixed. I miss being able to depend on this place. read more

I hope that this restaurant is reading these reviews and taking notes because I would love for it to improve and stay in Tucker. We tried it the other night and were not impressed. The atmosphere was great, but, the service was slow, and it wasn't that busy. We had two hungry kids with us and it took a very long time for the food to come out and when it did it wasn't even that hot. I got the chicken burger with onion rings. The burger was very good, but, the onion rings were a greasy mess with the skins completely separated from the onions. My husband got the meatloaf which was dry, and the mashed potatoes that did not have gravy (they ran out and the waitress did not offer an alternative before placing the order). We asked for grilled chicken fingers for one child and they brought out one burnt little piece of chicken and four greasy fried pieces. We asked about this and the waitress said that she got yelled at for taking this order and that they couldn't do grilled pieces (even though my chicken burger was grilled and the same amount as the strips) . We asked for mac n cheese instead, which was bland and my child (nor any of us) did not like either. The french fries were small and weak as well. We spent $55 for four and my kids were still hungry when we left. It took almost two hours for us to get in and out. Unfortunately, we were not impressed and will not be back unless improvements are made. The waitress should have told us about the gravy and about the chicken tenders so that we could have made alternative choices. It took so long for us to get the food that I wasn't willing to order anything else at that point and we had to feed our kids again when we got home. The beers were good, but, expensive. No beer prices were listed so we had no idea of price until we got the bill. The waitress was pleasant, but, lacked communication and the food was not the greatest overall, especially considering it is a bit pricey for what you get. I know people really want good restaurants in Tucker so I hope that Local No. 7 is reading these reviews and making adjustments. read more

To keep the office staff focused, I headed over to Local 7 for Take-Out Root Beer Floats on Friday afternoon . Four Root Beer Floats and a side of Tots - the Bill was $27.00. Wouldn't have given it a secound thought but upon opening the Styrofoam cups to pour on the Jones Root Beer, all four ladies made note of the single rather dininuitive scoop of ice cream...and Gee whiz guys, have you read the ingredient statement on the Jones' Root Beer-artificial flavor, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate and calcium disodium EDTA. read more

Really great to see a new local pub in Tucker!! We have been twice and overall nice place. Nice place go and hang with friends. Beer list is good, wine list well there isn't one, food is pub and service is good. Forget the Reuben as it was two dry pieces of marble bread, dried out packaged deli meat and thousand island was undetectable. Burgers are good. Atmosphere works with good TV coverage to support sports bar environment. Needs to come up with a signature food item or two that they're proud of serving. I'll go for a draft but that's about all for now, but I'll keep the faith they'll regroup on the food and wine. read more

We live in Tucker and were excited to see a place like this! Between me, my husband and our son, we have been a total of 4 times. I am bummed. I was really hoping this place would be the upscale-like solution to an old fashioned location/street. I do love the quaintness of Tucker, but having a place like this could increase its hip factor. The location and ambiance are doing that BUT THE FOOD IS NOT! The price point is way too high for the quality they are providing. I worked in restaurants for over 10 years, and I know good food from bad. They are doing something very wrong in terms of quality and preparation. if they don't fix the food issue soon, people will stop coming and the location will become a TGIF or worse in a couple years. PLEASE GUYS, GET YOURSELVES STRAIGHT AND MAKE SERIOUS CHANGES TO YOUR FOOD QUALITY AND CHEFS. We don't want to lose you. read more
