The menu didn't give an indication of what the identity of restaurant was! Random stuff fish, steak, tacos, hummus...nothing uniquely prepared! Pick a genre! We enjoy sitting at bar for the entertainment factor but right off the bat the bartender was annoyed that I didn't know what I wanted to drink, instead of giving me some options, maybe the bars favorites or her favorites she just huffed off! It took three times of her passing me that I finally got her attention to order a cocktail! Then she bad mouth the management..."yeah that's the newest manager he's only been here a day" - all said sarcastically and with an eye roll! The other bartender was just as bad we had to flag her down more then once for a second cocktail that we never got! Just looking around the bar, everyone's drinks were empty and the two bartenders we off trying to pour a beer and goofing around! They were called out as the old grumpy lady and the county bumpkin, other staff!Wow they really need to figure it out because it was to stressful to enjoy our evening! Downtown Canton, Ga. has really become a restaurant Mecca! This little town can keep local residents from ever having to go anywhere else for a first class meal. Local On North is one such restaurant. We have eaten here many times since its opening and it never disappoints- just like ALL the other downtown restaurants. We have enjoyed our last 2 Thanksgiving meals there and our most recent Valentine meal on Sunday. The special menu was perfect With many choices to choose from. The Sea Bass practically melted in my mouth and my wife's Filet was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Their onion soup is my favorite soup anywhere and we have probably had every desert on the menu and enjoyed each of them. Service has always been top notch. There are 9 locally owned restaurants, 2 coffee/ bakery shops, 1 ice cream shop, and 1 growler shop (all locally owned) within a 2 block radius of downtown. All of them are excellent, including Local On North. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! My fried oysters were cold and soggy. When I complained the manager asked me where I was when they were served. I was washing my hands in the rest room! What nerve. I am challenged by the manager when clearly the chef need some retraining. Food was horrible and have never been treated by a manager in such a rude manner. I will not be back and will be sure to tell all of my friends to avoid this establishment. read more

This restaurant is a welcome addition to Canton. Its another high quality restaurant that does a good job with their selected fare. The restaurant is clean, neat and has very nice decor. We started the meal with a goat cheese croquettes. It was delicious and had a lot of flavor. I would recommend this appetizer for very small groups. The goat cheese is about the size of a hockey puck. It is not suitable for more than two people. We had the French Onion soup for our next course. The French onion soup is not a traditional version but its fantastic. When I go back the soup will be my first course. We had the burger and pizza for our main course. I typically reserve $17 hamburgers for Vegas and NY. The burger was excellent and well worth the money. Im not sure anyone does a better burger in the area. The pizza was ok because it was soggy. In full disclosure It was probably my fault for asking them not to burn the pizza. Brick oven pizzerias are notorious for burning the crust and they probably pulled it out early not to burn it. Its my fault but even if it had of been perfectly cooked I wouldnt order it again. I considered the prices high when initially reviewing the menu. The reality is that a lot of time and quality ingredients go into the food. The food is very good and worth the higher cost. We will definitely go back... read more

The food was fantastic. The flavors were great and elevated as you'd expect. The prices are a bit high for the portion size. My husband wanted more of everything and was a bit hungry when we left. My mom and I were visiting a friend and we decided to stop by here, coming from the city, this restaurant had an industrial-city vibe so that was pretty cool. We got the goat cheese app, and they were delicious (my family is obsessed with goat cheese, haha) I got the the cumin pork and that was delicious, and both my mom and her friend got the crab cakes, and they seemed to really enjoy it. Whenever we are back in Canton, I'm pretty sure we will make sure to stop by. HORRIBLE. The owner, Gigi, will run this business into the ground in no time until she learns about customer service. Very disrespectful. Treats her employees and customers like trash. We arrived to the restaurant for our first time and nothing went right. Server had no idea what was going on, drink orders were taken but didn't come for 15 minutes, appetizers never came.. A side salad was order and 45 minutes pass, nothing comes, we go ahead and decide to cancel it in hopes our food would come soon. However, our server insists on tracking down the salad and states she will "comp it." It arrived shortly after we tried to cancel as a full size salad and when the check comes, we are charged for a full size salad at $10.... When mentioning this to the server that said she'd comp it, she replies, "I'm sorry, my boss is a jerk and won't let me". We asked for the manager that we could clearly see was observing our frustration and he never stopped by to speak with us. Later to find out he, Salem, was also an owner.... our whole Sunday lunch experience was 3 hours and the food never came out right. Wrong orders that we settled for just to get out of the restaurant. It's not about the money at this overpriced mediocre restaurant, it's the fact that the owners do NOT care about their customers. read more

I recently celebrated a friends birthday here last Saturday and was not impressed by the service at all. The phone calls on the reservation made me feel like they could handle a party of 18 but then apologized that they could do it. When we arrived the waiters almost guarded the back of the restaurant where our tables were which gave me a weird vibe. Once we were seated I immediately felt like a burden because we were waiting on our party to arrive but everyone arrived and immediately our server was rude and smartelic. He made a comment through the night "I wish they would just sit down" when we were trying to find our seats because they split us up (without notifying us). I watched him shove clean plates into the chest of a bust boy right in front of our table and was snapping and telling him where to go and what to do. It was super rude to all of us to see. Trying hard to play big but not quite there. Cool building on a side street in downtown Canton. Exposed brick interior, hipster feel. Charcuterie board was excellent, as was the fried goat cheese (best non-dessert food of the night). Fried oysters can be hard to do and these were done well, breading intact, not over cooked, good flavor. Linguine w/ clams extremely salty, should not have made it out of the kitchen. Burger was almost mushy (odd texture) and also very salty. Spicy shrimp dish had good, very spicy flavor. Desserts were the highlight. Love bread pudding and this pecan bread pudding was fantastic, as was the fried chocolate pie. Execution is where these folks struggle a bit. Had to remind them to bring my wine from the bar, left the onions on my salad. Asked if they would put the oysters from the appetizer on my salad - could charge me whatever they thought was fair. Manager said all they could do was sell me the appetizer and salad separately. So they brought them out separately and I combined them. Understand if this was Golden Corral or if they were unbelievably packed. Neither was the case. Not sure we will be back, other than maybe just for dessert or apps. At this price point way too many places that do the little things well, with stronger entrees etc. read more

Canton has added a new gem! My husband and I went here for dinner on Friday night. The service was amazing! Our server was great and the owner came to check on us several times throughout our meal. He suggested the pork for my husband. I had a couple of bites and it was amazing. I had the salmon and it was by far the best meal I've had in a long long time. The creme brulee was fabulous also! My wife and I waited for this place to open. Hoping it would be as good as some of the other places in town. We like to eat in in town at different places. Local on north has a lot more work to do on the food they serve. I had the rko burger. It was exactly what was on the menu. Ground beef patty. Not grass feed not sirloin. And not very much. Poor quality meat. It also had a few deep fried onion pieces on top. The brioche bun was a glorified roll. I dug out the bun so that I would taste more burger than roll. This. Came with hand cut fries, good, but not enough. TOTAL PRICE 15.50. Big disappointment. My wife had the crab cake sandwich. Again the bun was nothing to write home about. The crab cake was not lump crabmeat. It was a cheaper grade of crab,probably shredded claw meat. And it was very fishy. Also came with hand cut fries, probably the bottom of the basket, over cooked, small pieces. Sandwich and fries. 18.00!!! Total cost for LUNCH 33.50. Not counting I had one beer and my wife had ice tea. In all with tip, LUNCH was over 40.00. !!!!!!! Oh, our waitress was very nice. We won't be going back. Wish you well, hope you do something about the quality and quantity of your food. read more
