We gave this place a try tonight and I can say we will absolutely be back! I had the crab cakes- they were perfect. They were flavorful and had a ton of crab in them, lightly breaded (unlike some places where it's just a glob of fish flavored breading), and cooked to a golden brown. The wine selection is good. The atmosphere lively and classy without being snotty. The creme brûlée was some of the best I've ever had anywhere. My husband has traveled the world and agreed that it was better than some he's had in Europe! He had the steak Frites and they were also cooked to perfection with fresh flavors and a lively chimicchuri sauce that was amazing. This I absolutely worth giving a try in Canton! read more

The food is amazing. Went out with some friends and had dinner at the bar. Randy served us and was beyond excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and had great food suggestions. honestly so dissapointed in my visit to local rn, I've been here multiple times for brunch and have always had a great experience and service and we finally came to celebrate my friends birthday for dinner time for the first time. The host didn't even bother saying hello or anything just took us to our table. Okay that's fine hopefully service goes good. Nope. Waiter/Bartender, an older gentleman with glasses comes over and just places napkins on our table. No introduction no greeting what so ever so we just look at him confused till a couple seconds he said " what do y'all want to drink" proceeds to get us waters and I'm looking at the drink menu with my friend and he doesn't even bother to ask if I wanted a drink but just takes away the drink menu and goes and complains to the host I'm not sure if about us or what. At that point I tell him I was looking at it and he's like "okay" Ans just brings me another drink book. At that point I was fed up and I just told my friends we should leave so we did. Absolutely as good as it gets. When you walk in, you are greeted by a beautiful interior and a well proportioned 3-sided bar. We sat at the bar (our favorite location) and had a nice view of the rest of the building, our backs to the entrance. On this particular night (Thursday), they had a young man playing soft piano music. Truly added to the ambiance. The bartender was with us almost immediately, took our drink orders, and brought us menus most expeditiously. I wanted to test out the "full bar", so I ordered a cocktail of my own design. They passed with flying colors. There is also plenty more room for more bottles on the middle island, so I have no doubt that the liquor selection will grow as this place grows. I ordered the vegetable risotto. Great choice! It was absolutely delicious. The confluence of flavors in the dish was outstanding... so tasty and a bit of a tang to the meal. In addition to being a wonderful dish, it was served with good presence, and the order came quite rapidly. I didn't even have time to finish my cocktail! My kind of service. The bartender was amicable and polite, and always professional. He was there when we needed him, and left us to our own conversation when we did not. I tipped him well, and even tipped a fiver to the piano player. I will go back and try another dish on the menu, although it may be difficult to stray too far from the vegetable risotto! Shared an excellent lunch here with friends recently! I had the homemade special pizza of the day w/ absolutely delicious homemade dough, figs and herbed goat cheese. I also shared a very good Cesar salad with my friends, as an appetizer & one salad was plenty for the three of us to share. Although pizza's were suppose to be personal size, with six good size slices one pizza would have been plenty to share with one friend, especially with the addition of a side salad. Upscale and unique restaurant. Very attentive staff. The owner walked around checking each table's satisfaction. We sat across from the galley style kitchen. We were very impressed with the chef's inspection and special touch as each dish went out. Menu is very diverse with an assortment of meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan. Great drink and dessert selection. It may seem odd to rave about their fried green tomatoes; but they were the best, crisp yet tender. Everything was Delicious! To start this off, I've never felt compelled to write a review but as someone who works in the industry I was upset to see people, especially management, not letting someone "get out of the weeds". Our server/bartender/literally she did everything, Abby was absolutely outstanding. However, she was overworked to an extreme. I can only assume it was management standing in the corner watching her, but no help for her or for us as patrons (didn't take us to our table just stood by the stairs, and never returned to check on us). Drinks taking upwards of 20 minutes not because she can't but because she's the only person taking care of large parties. (There was 4 of 10+ all at the same time). Overall, we had an amazing time as a family however, we felt bad for Abby and hope that management will provide more evenly distributed staffing or at least help out when they know there's one person taking care of 40-50 people at the same time, instead of observing. read more

Let me start by saying that the service, food, and drinks were phenomenal!! Aaron was attentive, funny, and so sweet!! If this review were solely based on Aaron and our food, it would be a 10 * review. However, the management needs a strong lesson in customer service. the only reason I gave it 1 star is because I have to in order to write a review. My husband and I have been here a few times and it quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in the area. So much so, that I told my friends about it and suggested they have their engagement party here for 30 people. HUGE MISTAKE! The manager was by far one of the rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. You would think with having such a large party for such a special occasion, the manager AT THE VERY LEAST WOULD BE NICE! Wrong again! I guess we had been lucky the multiple times we have been in to not have to deal with the manager (which I now know is why we have been back!) I feel awful for suggesting this place to my friends for such a special moment in their lives. I strongly suggest that if you have any self respect, to stay far away from this establishment. We love all the restaurants in downtown Canton. They are all amazing! Tried Local On North finally for the first time tonight for my husband's birthday. We enjoyed the atmosphere, our server was thoughtful and attentive and the food was fantastic from presentation to taste. They do have a kid's menu. The live music was enjoyable. We will be back! We had a reservation but the restaurant was only a quarter full. The restaurant is large and decorated quite beautifully. We sat for a fairly long time before we were greeted by our server, who I later noticed was also the bartender, and a food runner. It took a while to get our water and cocktails. We were ready to order for a long time before our order was taken. We ordered the white pizza and the Fuggedaboutit pizza...both delicious. However, I wanted to order another drink and I noticed our waiter was overwhelmed with tables as well as everyone sitting at the bar that evening. The service was not consistent and it took forever to get our check. I also saw a waiter carrying a bowl of sliced lemons across the restaurant to the bar, and then use his hands to grab a few out and place in glasses. I assume he washed his hands. read more

Ok after believing and loving this place more than a few times I was very offended by the hostess upon entry who asked me upon my entry with my best guy friend who just came for a drink if this was "a date night" for us. We had just finished golfing and came for a drink. First of all why is the hostess commenting on ones sexuality. Secondly the female bartender was extremely rude. I asked her is she was the owner and she replied "no, but her sister is" she continued to ignore and or simply pass us by at the bar. I have spent lots and lots of money here and to be treated like that felt ignorant. I might give her the benefit of the doubt of maybe not seeing me before but after a hostess suggesting my sexuality and a rude sub-in manager it really made me feel that this place isn't about customer service. It's merely about what they can make. Well had she known me, maybe she would have made more if she was kind to the fraction of all that kindness is at al. But this was after being sexually misidentified by the hostess. So what else is to expect. Overall it's a large room and great atmosphere but aside from a few people who work at the bar (Randy, Casey and the waitress Karen) this place bombs in all assets of customer service. Owner is a quiet spoken no show and if you do see him he is clear on his intentions, it's not to get to know people it's to make sure his staff is doing well and to make no personal contact with a customer. My wife and I have eaten at Local on North a few times since we moved to the Canton area last summer. Each time we have enjoyed our experience. The food quality is great, the portions adequate and the prices average for this type of restaurant. We have eaten both regular menu items and daily specials--both have been excellent. Tonight, I had the feature special which was smoked duck with bacon and cheddar mashed potatoes and fried cauliflower. Sound good? Well, it wasn't good, it was delicious! However, a hidden treasure not found on the menu is Alex, one of the servers. He has waited on us the last two times we've been there and he made the experience wonderful both times. Alex is very attentive yet doesn't hover, knows the menu well and gives an honest opinion about food items when asked. When you have the winning combination of great food and great service, you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend Local on North--be sure to ask if Alex is working. read more

This is a beautiful old warehouse turned into a rather large bar and restaurant. It's pricey. Cocktails are really good esp the blood orange old fashioned. The majority of the dishes I've had there, seem like they may be pre-packaged items vs fresh prepped I.e. I had the shrimp pasta dish last night, the shrimp are small and tender, the pasta was like velveta shells and cheese, actually not as good. The spice to the dish was nice, however. My husband got the lemon chicken and it was luke warm, must have been pre cooked and then plated w/toppings at time of order; he didn't even finish it. He is more of a food snob that me, I'm not really hard to please but when you're spending $90 for a meal and cocktail, you expect fresh, hot and above bar. A very nice addition to Canton BUT I do feel that you can pick up; someone who is used to eating in fine dining restaurants like us, on the short cuts that are taken when dining here. It seems like the higher priced restaurants that are arriving to canton thibk that they can "trick" diners into thinking they are eating in a fine dining establishment that you would find in Atlanta charging the same prices. I'm happy to see canton grow but don't believe we don't know our food! read more
