I was honestly shocked the first time I walked in,they had the exact same premium treats I'd been ordering online, except I could grab them right then and there. The selection is impressive, and the staff is even better. The ladies who work there are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like family, and that kind of customer service is hard to find these days. The location is convenient, the store is clean and well organized, and they even host fun little photo events for the dogs. My pup had his own mini photo shoot and absolutely stole the spotlight. Whoever is training this staff deserves a big shout out because these employees go above and beyond. They take the initiative. They make suggestions. They cheerfully show you where the product is located and share their knowledge. Whether it's locating that one thing you need that they don't have, or locating more than what they have in stock and having it held for you until you can pick it up. They will even special order product for you and call you when it arrives. So nice to have great customer service. I drive over 200 miles just to stock up here. You can't beat their prices. I will be stocking up on food, treats, toys, chews, and even their leashes and collars.

Over the last two weeks I left 4 messages asking them to please call me back to get one of my pets groomed. This store does not call back, even though the manager of the department says they are supposed to return all calls. Well I was finally at the store today to get my 5lb. toy poodle groomed. Now I am handicapped so I sat my dog down on counter for only a few seconds. Well the groomer immediately tried to shove their collar over my hands and my dogs head, then he suddenly ripped my dog out of my hands telling my its against the NEW policy to set pets on counter. My mistake I did not see the new sticker. However after ripping my dog out of my hands he continued to yell at me while holding my dog in the air in one hand. I immediately asked for my dog back, I told him I'm not putting up with how he was abusing my dog nor his total attitude towards me. Then he tells me "Well, its your own damn fault!" There were two other customers waiting in line behind me. One woman asked him why hes being a total jerk. "That's it, I'm not grooming your dog either for calling me a jerk!" So two of us walked out because of him having a bad morning and screaming at people, abusing our dogs. I called the store from the parking lot and got a female store manager. I explained everything to her and even went as far as making sure she knows I am a letter writer and will be writing to the corporate office "customerrelations@petco.com because she barely spoke. She hinted she would have a talk with the groomer and she was very sorry I walked out before talking to her. I won't hold my breath thinking she will actually follow up on the complaint. So I am writing here and also sending to corporate offices.

What really bothered me is how much of the information you need to question! The information is sitting right in front of you. Take the breeder information displayed in the window and actually Google it. The results raise some very serious questions about the number of animals reportedly kept at these properties and documented violations. Look closely at the breeder names, too, and you may notice what appears to be the same last name associated with different first names. That raises an obvious question: are properties being divided on paper so more animals can be housed and sold? Here's another question I'd love to hear answered: When was the last time the owner personally visited these breeding properties? Because an iPad, a cute video, and a rehearsed explanation aren't exactly the same thing as independently inspecting the conditions where these puppies supposedly come from. Once is a visit to sign the contact to sell the dogs and the owner has never been back to those properties. And then there's the transportation. On what I was told is "puppy Wednesday," I observed cargo vans arriving out back. I was told that multiple puppies are transported together for extremely long periods, reportedly in crates intended for fewer animals. If that's accurate, the welfare implications are pretty disturbing. The store presents itself as high-end, but my experience left me questioning how thoroughly the breeders are actually vetted. There was also a ringworm outbreak that and was not denied by the employees, I personally encountered a couple with a puppy sold with active ringworm on financing. But had to sign an NDA (I didn't) And the warranties? Read them carefully. In my experience, with my let they felt considerably more protective of the business than the customer. More interested in letting you know they are a franchise and can do as they please. A warranty isn't particularly comforting if getting meaningful help when something goes wrong feels like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. All they do is ignore you and leave you to the wolves of Kanguroo To be clear: I'm not telling anyone that they should or shouldn't spend their money on a pet. I'm telling you to do your homework before you do. Google the breeder information. Ask where the puppies actually came from. Ask when the owner last personally inspected the breeding facilities. Ask how the puppies are transported and for how long. Ask what happens if your puppy arrives sick. Then read the warranty. not the sales pitch. See how rude and disrespectful the manager becomes when you raise these little flags. Because when the answers don't match the adorable iPad presentation, that's when the cute puppy-store aesthetic starts looking a lot more like smoke and mirrors. Big scam, stay away, there is no such thing as puppy inflation pricing. Just price gouging.
